Btez 16:55 the Galus admitted that they voted for Natalie for both reasons, because they knew Russhole wouldn't play the idol on her and because they didn't want Natalie to go in rocks, which basically shows how good her social game was.

I think that as in life there isn't one way to succeed, there isn't only one way to succeed on Survivor neither. I mean, some things are objective like Kim being one of, if not the best, but we cannot compare Sandra's game to Kim, because they both have different approaches.

Obviously a few exceptions (Ethan and Natalie W being top 10, Parvati being #20, Todd being #26, Hatch being in the bottom 10) but still, it mostly encapsulates what makes for a great survivor win

She knew Russell saw her as a dumb blonde he was using to get to the end and she used it against him... And does Russell really flip Galau without Natalie convincing the Galau girls to vote out Eric? No amount of additional footage could've helped her look like a good player. If anything they would've had to hide all of Russell's moves to try and make her look better by comparison.

Natalie's best move for 1 million dollars was to allgin with Russell and let him take all the heat.. I'd like her people who deride her give her a better move. Really? I thought most of the fan’s tribe was boring, and the favorites tribe was definitely ‘production’s favorites’ because there’s no way they were ‘fan favorites’. However I will say the season did pick up post-merge tho.
The fact that the entire fans tribe sucked did not take away from this season at all, in my opinion, because the producers (rightly) spent most of the entire season on the favorites tribe, which was *mostly* full of great characters and great players. If you don’t like Special Agent Phillip Shepherd, then I understand why you wouldn’t prefer this season. I however thought he was incredible, and it made for a very interesting game in which the power shifted multiple times
In addition to JT receiving all the final jury votes, nobody ever voted against him. JT played such a perfect game in Tocantis it’s such a shame his performance in his other seasons were bad lol
Fabio and Natalie are two underrated winners. Even though it sucks how much the editors screwed Natalie over, I kinda like it in a way because it leaves a lot of her strategy up for speculation. As for the reward, on top of picking Brett and Mick for the food reasons, she picked Brett so he wouldn’t be able to sway any votes on the other team if he got picked on the opposing team.
i feel as though had natalie spoken with more conviction, highlighting how aligning herself with Russhole and flipping the women of Galu women were her biggest moves she may have garnered more respect as a winner by the community. i respect a social player that’s ego isn’t too inflated and natalie was very humble. i’d love to see “survivor barbie” play again

lon 1234 Playing a good game and creating good television aren’t necessarily the same thing. A lot of winners do both, but sometimes, a player’s strategy is just not exciting to watch. If given the choice between watching Natalie walk around talking to Brett about Jesus and watching Russell run through the woods frantically searching for an idol, I’d rather watch Russell. I can’t blame the editors for making Samoa the Russell Hantz show because he was more fun to watch than Natalie. But Natalie was the one who identified that the people on her season would prioritize a personal connection over flashy gameplay. From early on, she knew that these were people who would hold a grudge against Russell and she recognized that he was tanking his own win equity. That’s not exciting to watch, but it demonstrated a pretty masterful understanding of how she and Russell were being perceived by the people around her. She played a strong game, even if her biggest “moves” were just treating the other castaways with compassion instead of seeing them as human chess pieces.

However, peoole are still saying Natalie didn't deserve to wkn and Russell was robbed, which makes sense since the edit barely phocused on Natalie. Look at Sophie, which at the end of the day isn't much different from Natalie, snd Sophie is considered a deserving winner by many, because she did have a proper edit that justify her win. But the decision that gets made on the cutting room floor is “what45 minutes from these three days tells the most compelling story?” It’s a lot harder for editors to justify cutting out Russell sabotaging the other players than it is to justify cutting out another one of Coach’s insane anecdotes.
Nah I think they wanted to give her more airtime because she was the winner but there probably wasn’t much there. Natalie seems like a sweetheart and a great person but she didn’t deserve to win in my opinion. Yeah Russell’s social game was lacking but it wasn’t THAT bad in Samoa (HvV is a different story). His idol finding without clues, convincing Shambo to join them and manipulating John to vote out Laura, and his overall strategic play were ahead of its time. Foa Foa went down 8-4 in the merge and besides Natalie’s role in getting Erik out, the rest was pretty much all Russell. Samoa was definitely one of the most bitter juries of all time.
Kevin O'Shea When I watched the season for the first time I agreed with you that Russel should’ve won. But bad social plays make a bitter juror, yes he wasn’t as bad as he was in HvV but he still made it very clear that he was only keeping people to benefit his own game and wasn’t interested in making friends and I remember him being straight up condescending and even mean to some people. This season for me really showed how important it is to have at least a semi decent social game, so watching Samoa for the second time it was very clear that he didn’t have a change in hell to win the season. He didn’t learn anything from his mistakes because he played the same way in HvV where the jury also voted against him, more so than for a winner. Both Natalie and Russel thought the other was the goat and unfortunately in the end Russel proved to be wrong as it was shown that flashy moves alone do not win huh Survivor.
Of all the winners that weren't in WaW, I really wish Natalie White had been in the mix. She's extremely underrated and I wish we could have seen what she would have done in a situation that didn't involve Russell.
I think that dawn is underrated. I’m not saying she should have won because frankly Cochran seemed more aware and in control towards the end, but she is underrated

I totally agree!!! Nicaragua is totally crapped on and I really don’t know why!!! While Fabio may not have done much, there were still some pretty exciting votes mid-game, especially the marty and brenda votes! Not to mention it introduced us to JANE! THE Jane!!! I just don’t get why people hate it so much. Gabon, is sort of the same way. I personally like the season bc of the unique location, and I do like bob. I must admit though, the casting wasn’t great. Other than bob and Kenny and possibly Matty, there was hardly anyone enjoyable on this season (in my opinion). But yea both are severely underrated for sure!
Worth noting that (as it was presented on the show) Fabio suggested voting out Jane to Chase and Sash, and he took absolutely none of the heat for it that Tribal Council that followed.
jt's social game in tocantins remains the strongest social game of all time & will take that to the GRAVE. blows my mind how brendan wanted him out SO BAD and then a day later after spending like 2 hours with jt one on one brendan basically forfeits his own game & stays up all night making a plan of how to get JT to the end. Right off the bat, I think Fiji has to be up there at the top as one of the worst juries. Not to take anything away from Earl. He was a good winner, but that jury was a shit show.

I'd read the ifunny on purple kelly and how the producers forced her into that bikini that basically made her quit. Literally every Nicaragua player is surprised she made it 28 days. She also voted for Fabio because every time you see her with the jacket (in the sparse times you see her) Fabio gave it to her. She isn't purpled because she was dumb or unimportant to the story (she was literally always in the majority alliance). She was purpled because the producers fucked up.
FYI, Fabio won BOTH the votes of the quitters at the end. Had the rule been implemented this season that quitters were pulled from the jury Chase would have won that season.
People always bitch about bitter juries, but no one says anything about how the jury in Gabon robbed Susie of her rightful win. Though if I remember, all three finalists that season were so bad at the ftc. Gabon❤ Natalie White is amazing. People don't realize that juries aren't bitter for no reason. Tony's win in Cagayan proves what Russell did in Samoa was a game worthy of a win, but you need to be surrounded by people with some level of decency and sportsmanship in the game. In any other season or cast, Natalie loses and is disregarded as a blind goat.

Playing a good game and creating good television aren’t necessarily the same thing. A lot of winners do both, but sometimes, a player’s strategy is just not exciting to watch. If given the choice between watching Natalie walk around talking to Brett about Jesus and watching Russell run through the woods frantically searching for an idol, I’d rather watch Russell. I can’t blame the editors for making Samoa the Russell Hantz show because he was more fun to watch than Natalie. But Natalie was the one who identified that the people on her season would prioritize a personal connection over flashy gameplay. From early on, she knew that these were people who would hold a grudge against Russell and she recognized that he was tanking his own win equity. That’s not exciting to watch, but it demonstrated a pretty masterful understanding of how she and Russell were being perceived by the people around her. She played a strong game, even if her biggest “moves” were just treating the other castaways with compassion instead of seeing them as human chess pieces.
@@elijahculper5522 I know Russell is funny, and I'm not saying that they should have given Natalie 108 Confessionals as they did with Russell. However, peoole are still saying Natalie didn't deserve to wkn and Russell was robbed, which makes sense since the edit barely phocused on Natalie.
Look at Sophie, which at the end of the day isn't much different from Natalie, snd Sophie is considered a deserving winner by many, because she did have a proper edit that justify her win. Natalie had barely 10 minutes of phocus the whole season, and she was the winner. She should have gotten a little bit more, and with that people wouldn't say that Russell was robbed

I agree that if she had more air time, people would respect her more. But the decision that gets made on the cutting room floor is “what45 minutes from these three days tells the most compelling story?” It’s a lot harder for editors to justify cutting out Russell sabotaging the other players than it is to justify cutting out another one of Coach’s insane anecdotes.
Nah I think they wanted to give her more airtime because she was the winner but there probably wasn’t much there. Natalie seems like a sweetheart and a great person but she didn’t deserve to win in my opinion. Yeah Russell’s social game was lacking but it wasn’t THAT bad in Samoa (HvV is a different story). His idol finding without clues, convincing Shambo to join them and manipulating John to vote out Laura, and his overall strategic play were ahead of its time. Foa Foa went down 8-4 in the merge and besides Natalie’s role in getting Erik out, the rest was pretty much all Russell. Samoa was definitely one of the most bitter juries of all time.
Kevin O'Shea When I watched the season for the first time I agreed with you that Russel should’ve won. But bad social plays make a bitter juror, yes he wasn’t as bad as he was in HvV but he still made it very clear that he was only keeping people to benefit his own game and wasn’t interested in making friends and I remember him being straight up condescending and even mean to some people. This season for me really showed how important it is to have at least a semi decent social game, so watching Samoa for the second time it was very clear that he didn’t have a change in hell to win the season. He didn’t learn anything from his mistakes because he played the same way in HvV where the jury also voted against him, more so than for a winner. Both Natalie and Russel thought the other was the goat and unfortunately in the end Russel proved to be wrong as it was shown that flashy moves alone do not win huh Survivor.
I’ve always imagined Peridiam would play a game similar to the one Stephan played, funny that I don’t even know what he looks like🤔
Also Naonka liked Fabio literally all season, and vice versa. The producers just exacerbated a few moments for drama.

Of all the winners that weren't in WaW, I really wish Natalie White had been in the mix. She's extremely underrated and I wish we could have seen what she would have done in a situation that didn't involve Russell.
I think that dawn is underrated. I’m not saying she should have won because frankly Cochran seemed more aware and in control towards the end, but she is underrated

I feel like Gabon and Nicaragua are underrated seasons, yes they are absolute train wrecks gameplay wise but sometimes I like Survivor to be about entertainment!
I totally agree!!! Nicaragua is totally crapped on and I really don’t know why!!! While Fabio may not have done much, there were still some pretty exciting votes mid-game, especially the marty and brenda votes! Not to mention it introduced us to JANE! THE Jane!!! I just don’t get why people hate it so much. Gabon, is sort of the same way. I personally like the season bc of the unique location, and I do like bob. I must admit though, the casting wasn’t great. Other than bob and Kenny and possibly Matty, there was hardly anyone enjoyable on this season (in my opinion). But yea both are severely underrated for sure!
Worth noting that (as it was presented on the show) Fabio suggested voting out Jane to Chase and Sash, and he took absolutely none of the heat for it that Tribal Council that followed.

I'd read the ifunny on purple kelly and how the producers forced her into that bikini that basically made her quit. Literally every Nicaragua player is surprised she made it 28 days. She also voted for Fabio because every time you see her with the jacket (in the sparse times you see her) Fabio gave it to her. She isn't purpled because she was dumb or unimportant to the story (she was literally always in the majority alliance). She was purpled because the producers fucked up.

Galu had a fragile ego, they became arrogant and fell apart, and because Russell had to do most of everything as he was the only one with game prowess despite having only seen 1 season at the time, they saw him as someone they could blame for their humiliating downfall. Russell made things hell for the game, but everyone else were awful to each other and everyone except Russell bullied people like Shambo butRuss is the one who lacks morals? It shows they are blind. Tony's win in Cagayan proves what Russell did in Samoa was a game worthy of a win, but you need to be surrounded by people with some level of decency and sportsmanship in the game. In any other season or cast, Natalie loses and is disregarded as a blind goat.
