- Happy Friday, everybody! Today, we explore the most secretive and dimly-lit corners of Stormwind Keep to uncover the House of Nobles and the influential role they play within the business of humans and their allies... and enemies! I had a lot of fun making this one... enjoy! :)

I absolutely love the fact that this is not one of those AI wow channels, some actual talent went into this
Thanks! Yeah, not a fan of monotone AI lore for 20 minutes :(
What AI channels are you talking about?
What's that? You don't like every video containing the phrases in a world of rich tapestries that are a testament to the strength and resilience of its people?
@@AIstuff372you tried too hard to sound smart here and ended up just using incorrect grammar.
@@notyourdaughter666 you don't know about the chat gptisms I'm talking about so it might look like incorrect grammar to you, but I'm referring to often repeated phrases in AI generated text.
Nice
Woud love such a video around the "The Lost Report " questline and its alliance counterpart from Dustwallow Marsh
One of the least known, storyheavy questchains in classic
I second this because I have not heard of it!
I may do more questline videos in the future! :D One coming up soon actually... ;)
Mogrin moment
Onyxia just reusing the same name Deathwing did in DotD when he was found out by the Kirin'tor last time.
Indeed!
Such a noble video.
you won
Thank you good sir!
I was thinking of two big projects that sounds perfect for you
1. The story of the Defias, including their roots from Warcraft I and II, Onyxia, and how they were done kind of dirty with the Stockades, which is kind of a beautifully tragic conclusion to a beautifully tragic story.
2. The rise of the Qiraji. Having levelled on pservers and eventually on live classic, every time I played Horde it struck me how well this story was told, how ominous and mysterious the creatures and their origins were, and it felt as if we were slowly uncovering something even the combined might of the Horde and the Alliance - rallying them to fight under the same banner felt like a titanic diplomatic impossibility, especially considering how they were not just natural enemies, but threatened and fragmented by conflict from both within and without - would not be ready for. The story is told quite well, in a natural way, spanning roughly levels 15 to 60 as far as I know, starting in the Barrens, picking up speed in the Mirage Flats, culminating in Un'Goro and the horrifying sight of first entering Silithus. The quests text of ''Calm Before the Storm'' after the ''Pawn Captures Queen'' chain always stuck with me.
They have been added to my video ideas list! Thank you. :)
I remember everyone talking about the Scourge being such a threat and I was always like 'Have you heard of the Silithid? The Qiraji?' They seemed like such a bigger threat to the world. Unfortunately most ppl skipped over the lands infested with Silithid in Kalimdor for the Plaguelands zones and missed out on the buildup to Silithus. That and Silithus was an incomplete zone till the Ahn'Qiraj raids opened. Still Ill always remember running into the infested parts of the southern Kalimdor zones and the feeling that this was the hidden big threat to Azeroth.
Appreciate this faction specific lore deep dive. Would love one for the Horde if possible. Another awesome video!
burning blade video if he hasnt done it already ?
I definitely plan on doing more lore/questline deep dives! :D I'm working my way through a new Human warlock rn, but I will eventually take a look at some Horde areas too!
@@Tangies That would be a good one. The Searing Blade questline about the Shadow Council trying to take over Orgrimmar from Ragefire Chasm.
Have you not yet realised this is all alliance propaganda 😂
Great voice for Count Remington Ridgewell! Love the effort you’re putting in your videos.
Thanks so much! :)
I love these little details. another reason to love the game so much: there's always that attention to the smaller details. I wouldn't have thought about a noble with a drinking problem being a problem for warlocks.
The details are what made Classic feel so alive. :)
Really enjoying your calm manner and well thought out videos- immediate sub.
Thanks so much! :)
The quest to get the necklace in Alterac was pretty tough on for me back in its day :(
Ooh yeah, I was not prepared for an elite mage coming at me in a ruin already filled with ogres XD
Great video! Honestly the inner politics of classic wow were so well done, it’s very underrated! People often criticize the story in classic, but that’s just because you must pay attention! It ties into the world feeling very alive too. Very good study on the noble houses, too bad they are now completely forgotten
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
The conclusion of the video definitively gives inspirational stuff for roleplaying in WoW.
Haha, indeed! :D
I started playing alliance for the first time on hardcore - and I wondered who are the nobles, why is the army not helping Westfall or other zones. Great video.
Yeah long story short - defias brotherhood have a good fucking reason to be the way they are.. I don't blame them
Thanks so much! :)
One thing I find interesting about the items Remington Ridgewell sends you to collect is that both are tied to places where the black dragons have been up to no good. Deathwing in his guise as "Daval Prestor" was nearly named the Perenolde heir as ruler of Alterac; and the Dark Iron Dwarves are the chief rivals of Nefarian for control over Blackrock Spire. Conspiracy brain makes me wonder how involved Lady Katrana Prestor might be with Ridgewell and his "family museum", given the influence she has over the House of Nobles.🤔
Love it!! He might not be just the pompous treasure hunter we have always thought him to be! :o
Great job again. Thanks for this. I just love lore like this.
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying these. :)
3:35 defias brotherhood would like to have a talk.
XD
Hi Jedi!
I wish Vanilla had leaned into the Defias storyline even harder throughout the human "campaign", even at higher levels. That way there wouldn't be a rather substantial gap between when the players last saw Defias and Onyxia's role in the whole conspiracy. It's good (especially for an MMO from 2004) but it could have been even better.
I wish Horde had gotten a similar experience throughout the orc "campaign". Maybe it could have been a conspiracy regarding the Shadow Council with Cho'Gall as its leader? Maybe he could have even infiltrated Orgrimmar.
Great points!! I definitely think there's a gap between 40-60 where they could have done more with the Defias... maybe some black dragonkin meeting up with a remnant of the gang somewhere?
For the Horde, there was a little of that early on with Ragefire Chasm and the warlocks, but they definitely could have expanded on that throughout the level range as well. :)
Defias should definitly have been in STV and even Duskwood.
Yes the Horde had the early "Searing Blade" questline that was an offshoot of the Burning Blade Clan and apart of the Shadow Council trying to take over Orgrimmar. It was pretty good too but it never went as in-depth as the Defias storyline. It would be cool to get a deep-dive into that story too.
I needed this vide, I hope the devs eventually give us some more development in this part of the lore.
There's a lot of potential to expand on it! I know in retail there is more lore about the Nobles but I have not kept up to date on it. :)
I think the House of nobles is a reference to the house of lords, in the Westminster system of parliament. So we’re looking at something as big as the Senate in membership most likely.
(House of Lords used to be for people the monarch granted peerage to)
That is a good point! I can definitely see the similarities. :)
House of Nobles contains all the nobility of Stormwind and they act similarly to the Parliament. But it is their wealth that is used to muster regional forces
Very true! I like those details :)
nice vid!
Thank you! :)
I think the brainwashed noble in the deadmines had recent drank zanzil's mixture.
That's definitely a possibility! Maybe he's only a few steps away from becoming one the drones we see wandering the tower in Westfall :o
If I had to remake the lore of the Nobles, one house would be for Jediknight and his dad.
Haha, thank you! :D
I see Stormwind chose vigilante justice as their judicial system.
Nobles: "What are you?"
Warlocks: "I'm vengeance."
very very niceeeee
Thank you!! :)
so interesting!
Earlgadin is a chad
"Want to become a Noble and profit off the backs of hardworking citizens of the kingdom?"
"Nah, I think I'll go hunt some panthers." XD
Loved Remington Ridgewell's voice line 👌
Haha, thank you! :)
This is strictly Classic WoW. I was waiting for Clessington and Tremaind.
Yes, just Classic for me at the moment. :) I've heard they have more Nobles lore in retail now though!
@@Jediwarlock Do you check when Classic lore gets retconned?
@@jameschristophercirujano6650 Sometimes, just when I find something interesting, mostly just stick with classic tho :)
Loved Baurles K. Wishocks voice line 👌
Haha, I'm glad to hear that! :D
Who would've thought, simple lore would capture many players' attention, instead of the intergalactic alien invasion type of thing. Hmm
Hmm indeed XD
the reason our characters never die in lore is cause we are always hunting one way or another
You got it!
