My dad was the master of these old girls. Three bottom plow, front wheels touching enough to steer... rain cap on the exhaust slapping so you had the pops and the pings. One of the fondest memories of my childhood.
I grew up on a 1946 A. I learned to drive it at 8 years old. My dad showed me how to coast start it out of the barn and down the road since the battery was pretty bad. However theres something about this tractor. I have a real love affair with a special green machine. Fast forward 68 years. I can close my eyes and pull the rope and drop the plow. I think i can smell the black dirt after its been turned over. My regards to you and remember, the seat is very cold in december when you plow snow. 😊
Does that bring back memories... Mom’s folks had a model A, on the family farm in Kansas. If memory serves, it was a 1935 model. Grandpa taught me to drive it when I was 8 years old. Wasn’t big enough to throw the flywheel to start the old Johnny Pop, so he had to start it for me. Dad’s folks had a J I Case dealership, and not to be outdone, I was shown how to operate a Case the next year! Nothing like family rivalry! Great video. Thanks for posting it!
Brian Hall lol i would do the same.... i was just thinking that i should take my john deere B to the gas station and fill her up along with my A and many more tractors...
Thank you for this video We had this very same model year.To hear it running so good reminds me of the times out on the hay fields with dad baling hay the John Deere barely working hard My dad sitting on the seat with his straw hat on.I miss my dad and I miss the tractor when we sold it in 2006
During this video the Model A had some carburetor issues that are mentioned in the description but we pulled the carb off my dad's 43 hand-start B and it runs a little better now with it on there. ruclips.net/video/kHIROqA5Vjk/видео.html
Shoot y'all... Put that girl to work! If not around the place, there's a lot of young people that need to see these old machines. As far as using them around a "modern" farm, there's still plenty of work that old girl can do. Beautiful tractor! Hats off to you guys. I've got two 8n's from that same time period. Only their too ugly to put on RUclips... lol.
Still sounds to me it has an issue somewhere would say possibly in the timing because it has an extra pop in it that is not supposed to be there I know I had a 1945B with oversize pistons and rings 45 horse total that's how I know that that does not sound right
North Carolina Outdoors sorry we call it an air bomb around here anyways it's is just a air tank that you can fill up and carry around an fill up tires

THAT IS A NICE LOOKING MACHINE IT SOUNDS LIKE AT IDLE IT HAS A SLIGHT MISS POINTS COULD BE A LITTLE DIRTY OR A SLIGHT LOAD JET ADJUSTMENT
Thank you for sharing this great machine, but please...if you make another video, use a tripod. Felt like I was on a roller coaster.
Nice Pipe on that thing

Put that A to work that's what it needs more than anything
Muy buena foto
I love mine!!!
i really want your little ford utility tractor
Sounds nice but still needs a little carbureator work
Still sounds to me it has an issue somewhere would say possibly in the timing because it has an extra pop in it that is not supposed to be there I know I had a 1945B with oversize pistons and rings 45 horse total that's how I know that that does not sound right
Runs pretty good for having sat so long did you get the carburetor bugs worked out of it?
I got a 51 G it's a beast
I'm in NC also. Looks awesome! Would y'all be interested in selling this tractor?
The timing of the mag is off considerably
Grab her a 5' or 6' bush hog and put this old girl to work! These old things want to do nothing else but!
THE MORE I LISTEN IN THE END CARBURETOR NEEDS TO BE CLEANED THE LOAD VALVE SIDE
So you have a ford tractor a shop and a garage but yet you don't have a air bomb!
Air Bomb? Please explain
North Carolina Outdoors sorry we call it an air bomb around here anyways it's is just a air tank that you can fill up and carry around an fill up tires
