Е гарна пісня інших авторів 1950р з краєвидами Києва "Київський вальс" (Знову цвітуть каштани), у виконанні капелла "Думка".

5 months ago you made reaction for "CEPASA-Київ"- it was modern variations of this old famous Ukrainian song. About 🌷 tilips- of course, it's from Holland😉, but it's one of the most popular flover in Ukraine and USSR for long time- I remember, at list from 60s it was everywhere, in cities and smallest villages. Interesting fact- Yuriy Gulyaev was Russian opera singer. But because Russian and Ukraine was one country (Soviet Union), many people're working in other republic. So, this singer many years worked in Donetsk' theatre (Ukraine), was married there,so, of course he know Ukrainian language and had repertoire in Ukrainian. Мама розповідала, що студенткою не мала гарних суконь, та на випускний дівчата змалювали фасон з кінофільму, тканину (по одному відрізу різного кольору для кожної дівчини у групі) привіз наречений однокурсниці з плавання (хлопець закінчив мореходне училище), а чиясь мама встигла до випускного балу пошити на всю групу... Щодо кольорів тих суконь на фото вірю мамі на слово :)

Two things to the video. Can't say much about the song 'cause I live in Kyiv and heard this one since my childhood. First. This is a soviet times video. So take it as a subtle form of propaganda. You see all the smiling faces and national costumes along with soviet simbols. All covered by a ukrainian song about Kyiv. You can figure the rest=) Stuff about ukrainian culture being promoted in soviet times is a chrtistomatic propaganda bs. Second. The views of Kyiv in 60th. If you watched videos of modern Kyiv (not necessarily a wartime footage) You might find familiar locations.
PS: about how clean it looks. I remind You this is soviet times. Just imagine a few hundred workers cleaning the locations an hour before the shooting of this video-)

Well, in the USSR, there would NEVER have been anything that could document the shortcomings of the communist system. Remember, if you see anything from the territory of the USSR photo/video (especially what was shown on TV back then) it was censored or self-censored.
This is a complex topic and you cannot explain it in a comment on RUclips. But never think that what you see reflected the whole reality.
p.s. The song itself is incredible, as well as the poem from which it is made. I don't know a single person from Kyiv who doesn't love her and wouldn't smile dreamily when he hears her.

1962, like the Soviet era in general, was not the era of the flourishing of Ukrainian culture. On the contrary, it was an era of oppression of Ukrainian culture, Ukrainian people, and Ukrainian dissidents. Those were easier and simpler times than when there was Lenin and Stalin, but it was still an occupation and Ukrainians in the USSR had the rights of the occupied. Our history was rewritten in Moscow, our language was shamed by Soviet goverment, our heroes were despised. Only in some places, very little, Ukrainian culture could show itself. For Moscow, we were a third-class nation.
