How much modifications did he have to do to the engine bay to make it fit ?

Wow my R53 does 267 with a Head, air intake, pulleys and bigger injectors. Not even including my 159 shot of nitrous.
This engine had been de-tuned though. A stock LM7 Ls makes 295 from the factory, and they had the mildest cam ever put in an LS. With just a cam, injectors, and turbo you can make over 1,000 hp on an otherwise stock iron block LS.
That's a nice build. But heads and cam will open her up. I'm hope for 1200 in my mini. Let's see.

Maybe next video get the guide that Did the actual Fabricating. The fabrication is what makes the car Interesting. Not Going from a Standard Chevy to an LS.

I just picked up a 09 Mini S as well going from by built STI and E46 M3. been thinking about LQ swapping her on E85 and getting blown by twins. keep it up tho. she'll rip when she's done!

It amazes me that my Mini with a stage 3 tune and a 42mm turbo makes that little 1.6 push just over 300. Wonder what this would do turbocharged? 500?

Something is right. I'd bet money the cam timing is off a tooth. I've seen it before and it slow revs just like this one does.
Stock 5.3 is capable of 700hp plus when you add boost.. and we’ll over 1400hp with forged internals. Everyone in the comments crying “that’s it?” Need to seriously do some homework

Is this an LM7 5.3? I would guess horsepower at the crank is only about 290.
my 2 litter mini cooper makes like 245hp
and its not nearly as loud which is funny. there's gotta be something wrong with that LS
Theres just no way they messed up the dyno or something. My buddy built a ls1 and it dyno at 430 to the wheel it doesnt make sense to me
Might as well left the original motor in the Cooper and just upgraded that 😂

He said it came with a small block in it originally, so at least he didn't pump the work into the body, but yeah 260hp is LOOOOW for an LS. Somethings fucky with the motor. If you want 400hp, K-swap, building a BMW B48 (The engines in the 3rd gen coops), a VW VR6 possibly would have done the job for far less work.
Still, once the engine is actually dialed in, it should reach 400 relatively easy.
260 hp is stock hp for the ls with least amount of power. I'm convinced he has 0 mods and it's the cheapest stock ls he could find. He threw the intake on it to seem modded.😂
And proceeded to up play his car.

Something isn't right. Unless it has lifter failure, lifters will not put it to 400. Valve springs/cam combo should put it close to 350-400. Also never once mentioned LS displacement. Iron or aluminum. Lots of information that could have been added to this video.
Doesn't completely answer the question but they did say 317 heads. That is typically going to be a 6.0

factory that engine makes 350hp. So, its way down on power. Maybe a proper tune will fix that issue and get it breathing fire! Regardless, that much power in a mini is ridiculous anyways, you can whip that thing around all day long with 300hp.

Tune is bad, it should of be around 400 yes o yes with a good tune I want to say even 380 but 200 it’s definitely a tune issue, no big problem tho shit is amazing

Pretty sure he's got a hurt motor...I've got a 6.0 with heads, cam, intake, and exhaust and I'm putting 385 to the ground through an auto on a pretty conservative tune
He modded an ls just to get stock numbers. Or he lied its not built. Idk which yet but either way this thing is poop. My cooper makes 220whp with a 1.6 liter 35mpg.😂
Remove the cam and mods that should equate to 100hp atleast a cam is good for 60 and he has a comp cam. Then his numbers would be 160hp. This dude lied and played every one of you soggies. How are these people tuners. Posting this dog crap.😂
