Easy to be-Islam: Chinese Soup (Bak-kut-teh) shows mistrust between Malaysians and Muslims?

  • Опубликовано: 26 авг 2024
  • When the National Heritage Department confirmed that the Chinese Soup called Bak-kut-teh as a heritage food of Malaysia, some Malay politicians and professors opposed the move under the reason that it is unislamic and that the Chinese soup is not 'old enough' to be known as 'heritage'. In this video I take this issue to task using simple Islamic values and the idea of a shared history of the Malay world in the many multi-faith Kingdoms of the past in Peninsular Malaysia.

Hello Prof Tajuddin, again the Muslim in this country is not truly Islamic when they (Muslim) prohibit the heritage food of Bak Kut Teh from being recognised as heritage in Malaysia. As Islam is a beautiful religion, it allows the non Muslim to practise freedom to eat their heritage food. So, I don't see the Bak Kut Teh being recognised as Heritage food pose any problem because the Bak Kut Teh dish is just a name " Meat Bone Soup". The meat can be pork, lamb, beef, fish, seafood, chicken & the soup is made from herbs. So, the Muslims need not be sensitive to prohibit the Bah Kut Teh being recognised as Heritage Food.

Tiada mesin angkut barang. Semua pakai tenaga badan. Bandan Tua sakit badan Dan kaki. Bagaimana Bakuteh dijumpai ? Tetapi. Herba memang dari Singapore.. tapi Cara resepi campuran bukan dari Singapore. Resipi ITU di atas herba herba Yang terjatuh atas lantai perlabuhan Klang. Perkerja pelabuhan tiada duit Beli herba. Jadi kutip saki Baki herba Dan Campur sendiri. Sebenar ialah sup Tulang herba.

Well said, Prof! Islam is progressive, dynamic and beautiful. True preacher of Islam will embrace peace, tolerance, forgiveness and not harness hatred, separation, misunderstanding.
However, some religious preacher and politicians had found religion as weapon to advance their political selfish interest.
As prof had said clearly, as a proud Muslim, why not we embrace something bigger than ourselves from a wider perspective.
The practice of religion (ajaran sesat) had shaped the Muslim into something very undemocratic, narrow, persimistic and low self esteem. They had been misled and threatened by the politicians and hence afraid to embrace advancement and differences.
Negarawan is a one who lead to build nation with the interest of future generation and hence leave a legacy.
Politicians cast fear factor among Malay for the sake of their short term interest and to enrich themselves.

Very well explained. With someone like you being a Muslim and bumiputra saying this, Malaysia have a glimmer of hope. I left Malaysia more than 25 years ago to give my children a better future because of the injustice dished out to non bumiputras even though our fore father's sacrificed in the nation building of this country call Malaysia.
My opinion as a pendatangs. Thank you Prof.

Thanks Prof for your truth in your views which is nothing other than a dish’s name, whether it’s halal or not.
I fully agree with your remarks on the UMNO youth chief who actually is bankrupt of constructive and rational ideas towards nation building rather than becoming a ´ Batu API ´ with divisive narratives.
Honestly, who is actually the prince of the land ´ is not proven yet todate but regardless we achieve independence from the British with all 3 main races ( Malay, Chinese & Indians ) together.
In fact the first delegation led by TAR to Britain was unsuccessful in its request for independence simply due to the fact that the delegation was represented by the Malay & Chinese but not the Indians. It was only after the 3 main races was represented in TAR’s subsequent delegation that we got the approval for Independence.
Thus, history of how our independence was achieved was maliciously interpreted by certain Malay leaders who wanted to remain in power.
