  • Here's an example of prepping a logo for submission. It includes creating a MASTER file, a FINAL POSITIVE file with outlined text, text that has been Object - Path - Simplified in Illustrator to reduce the number of vector points in the type, removing unused colors and setting Black to Global. Then, once the parts of the logo have been outlines (no stroked characters) the logo is filled with white instead of black to create the FINAL REVERSE logo.
Finally, for class, create a tabloid (11"x17") InDesign file and place two versions of the logo in it, one very big so we can check for errors and one really small (1" wide) to see if the logo will be readable at small sizes.
In this video, I noticed that there were still some flaws in the logo's kerning, so I went back and showed the steps to revise all the logos. It would be slightly simpler to go into the MASTER and remove all unused colors and save it before creating the POSITIVE and REVERSE logos.
