Watching other people cover this really shows the talent this man possesses. People are sweating, red faced, looking like they’re trying to shit out a pineapple. This man is just calm and in total control. It’s amazing.
Other people covering these vocals doesn't mean that should have red face or stuff. The red face comes from straining and pushing the vocals through, which is a totally incorrect way of doing it. You are right, saying he is talented, but it's a matter of practice and learning more. There are professional vocalists that can do this correctly, without red facing and stuff.

Dude is one of a kind. We probably won't see another vocalist with Will's diversity and range of sounds for a generation or few. And the fact that he looks so chill while doing all this... excellent technique combined with freak of nature genetics to produce the biological anamoly that is his vocal chords and throat.
It's probably clearer here because the studio version has two or more layers of vocals in several places; and that's bound to make it that little bit harder to follow the lyrics
If you think this is just random screaming and not an art form at all, you have no idea what you're talking about. The fucking skill and technique that is needed to sing like this is mind-blowing.
You guys both did a cover of Senseless Massacre, you guys need to either do something together or cover each other's songs....we need a Terminal collab ft. Will Ramos 😆
This honestly sounds better than the album version in my opinion. The layering and doubling just takes away from the intensity and casts doubt on Will's ability to actually perform these vocals live, which is obviously not the case.
As a rock/metal producer I understand the decisions they made with the layering and doubling, their take on this song has a more melodic/cavernous sound, it's not meant to highlight Will's vocals only but rather the vibe of the song and the musicianship of the band. Why? because if they didn't, like this video proves, Will takes over the entire mix completely with his talent.
I lost my fiancée not even two months ago and I wish I could tell you how the pain trilogy is just perfect right now. I can cry, scream, love, remember, all at the same time. It’s all memories now. They’re my treasure. And I love your other music too but I needed this. Thanks
Man, i feel so sorry for your loss... I actualy lost mine 2,5 yrs ago. Am p sure they having a toast together in heaven. May they rest in peace and stay in our memories, heart and soul. Let's be brave for them, brother. I salute you from France
Perfectly said,, I lost my younger brother 3yrs ago, I wasnt coping or accepting until hearing this and a few other songs a month ago, my bro listened to this genre for years, this song connects me to him, and so I am starting to heal.
This dude deserves all the attention he's getting along with Lorna, they really have something special going on. What a performance, you get a solid spot in S tier along with our favorite egg boi Dickie.
2:45 I want someone to look at me the way Will does at the camera. This is insane. So much respect for this man. His talent is ridiculous. Gives me chills just how calm he looks through the whole video. I was speechless watching this, and remain speechless every time I rewatch.
this honestly sounds better than tjhe studio version he has so many layers of vocals in it and he doesn't need them this is so much more clear sounding and you can definitely appreciate his skills a ton more
While I find that the layers in the studio version definitely create a really fuckin tangible dark feeling atmosphere/ambience, I must say that I agree with what you've said. The raw tone and rattle and depth and sharpness in his vocals are too fuckin consistently solid to be *potentially* missed by layering. Maybe a better blending of the two? Perhaps a couple of decibels added to the raw tracks underlying the layers or something...who knows? He's a fucking raging torrent of consistent and ruthless vocal tones/textures.
They desperately need to showcase this dude more, he's fucking incredible and very well could be a legend in the making, this song alone is a great start. Not a big fan of the studio version - but this, this is something else.
I fuckin hate blended screams. It just ruins the power and sounds corny to me. The fact that his cover is this caliber in a single take and the released studio version sounds the way it does is ridiculous. Why it wasn’t released closer to this sound is beyond me.
I don't know what my phone thought I voice dictated that it randomly open to RUclips Music and started playing this. But this dude is absolutely freaking epic!
I honestly never knew all these sounds can come out of 1 human being ? Deathcore is fucking phenomenal. Tell me there’s not as much talent in this as a regular singer? People that call this just “noise” do not understand musical talent.. Will has so much talent it’s insane.
Honestly I feel like Phil Bozeman is doing a great job of demonstrating how to sing in a more pretty way and still sound demonic with that toilet bowl sound. And it seems like Alex Terrible might be doing more clean stuff too.
Close up the nose and push a lot of noise off the top of your mouth. idk any of the names for the parts of the mouth and throat but i know how to push the air, that’s how i replicate his vocals. Also, make a duck face with your lips and it’ll help with the lower tones to sound more like him. I can’t do it open mouth like he can but that’s how i do it. A lot of manipulating noise through your mouth to hit different areas and pushing from the chest past the throat into the mouth. ALSO at the end, don’t try to do the snarls in your nose, do them in your throat. A lot of people i’ve seen will gag from building up mucus but you can avoid that by making the noises in your throat instead of your sinus
The "Azrael" at 2:03 after the high scream section is literarly the most penetrative scream I've heard. Tone and projection are out of this fucking world.
truly amazing. it's the only vocal i haven't figured out/recreated yet. maybe someone can help me out. i tried to approach it from a fry but can't get the tone to match. ironically i've almost got it from a inhale scream but cannot do the same on a regular scream. any ideas?
@@Teevoteev what, the Azrael line? Pretty sure it's a fry mid, part of why it's so loud. A lot less distortion on it than other lyrics, so not needing as much force either
If this performance has taught us anything, it's that you don't need to be loud or overtly aggressive to produce quality sounds. It's all about core strength, breath control, and tongue placement. Will, you are an absolute master of the craft and your technique is, dare I say it, even more impressive than the sounds themselves. Thank you. You're a true inspiration.
"It's all about core strength, breath control, and tongue placement." Reminds me of a pep talk I overheard coming from the girl's locker room way back when.
So sad that none of my people will ever see the talent behind this kind of music. "Turn off the noise". „Is there a pig being slaughtered?" Well, then I'll go and enjoy this masterpiece in all solitude again 👌🏼

2:58 screaming "fall with me". The absolute control to seamlessly go from a high, down to a sick low and then immediately back up to an extended high? All while screaming? And make it look flawless? I have to say, Will Ramos has quickly become one of my favorite vocalists. His vocal range and control of his voice is just fucking ridiculous! This is the level I one day aspire to get at.
The fact that you’re able to nail this, high and low and everything in between, without ever making a face like you’re giving birth to a small cactus…. Like most of the time it just looks like vocalists are in pain trying to do what they do in the studio. You look composed as fuck. It’s the sheer vocal control for me. Good god.

MaN this dude is *MAD* _CUTE_ wtF. Sorry. I just had to let it out. My brain cannot process how he looks at the camera and smiles so chill while making sounds straight from hell. I don't usually like metal this heavy but DAMN this is beyond impressive!
Fucking UNREAL. There's been some really good one take covers of this song uploaded by RUclipsrs, and then Will uploads this and just shits on every one of them. And that's nothing against those other vocalists, he's just THAT much better at doing these vocal styles than anyone else. And of course, I'd like to see vocal takes of the other two songs as well. In particular, the bridge part of "Of The Abyss" would be wild to see him do in this setting.
Who would have thunk that the vocalist of the band would do better than random covers of the song lmao. That's like saying "there's been a lot of really good painters attempting the Mona Lisa but then Leonardo da Vinci just came in and shit on everyone else!". Great analysis 🙄
You're cool and all Tank, but I've gotta go with the other commenters here, unless another heavy hitter/professional in the scene offers their take on it, Will himself is obviously gonna do the best version of his song. Even if another one of the big ones tries it, they've got heavy competition.
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK ?!?!?!?!?! When this song came out I was one of the people who thought they know it all with the "oooh.. layered vocals, almost anyone can do this with layered vocals and plugins and EQ" ooor "that doesn't sound natural, they've done so much in production to enhance those sounds.." etc. - I take my words back. I've just watched every possible live performance of this song and I literally want to punch myself in the face. I feel like I have to apologize personally to Will Ramos. I am mindblown by the skill and technique this man has! Absolutely insane!

It’s a shame a lot of vocal judges and teachers don’t respect the work it takes to sound like this. His voice is much higher than mine yet his growls sound so much more refined and crisp compared to anything I’ve done. I know he’s a literal pro so I can’t exactly compare my shower sessions to a full time vocalist but STILL. This man has a gift and I wish more people saw it.
Or don't teach this at all, because they're unfamiliar / unequipped. A bit sad, really. - And as a SLP: YES. He's got techniques and skills, I can't even begin to express how extraordinairy they are.
you dont use your "voice" to make these sounds, its reverberation and air flow control. pushing air to different places and in different ways, its not singing but with extra effort, its a completely different method of vocalisation. his speaking voice being higher pitched than yours hasn't really got much to do with anything.
I agree my mother doesn't like it cause she says that it sounds demoinc but i told her that nothing to do with this he's insane i do it and i have no longer my throat like I'm wanting so bad to sound like him fuck!

Travis Ryan didn't do it to her. It was you. That pig squealing and the final scream at the end really shocked her. Well done Sir.
That last scream (right before the long low) sounds extra unhuman because Will is somehow lacing together a high scream and a low growl into one sound. It sounds like two distinct screams blended together, and I think there's a part of our brains that freaks out when we hear a human make a sound like that haha.

Imo it would likely be a challenge to build a song that would compliment both Courtney and Will effectively, there would have to be clean singing sections, in order for her to have a fair chance to shine, cuz if it was strictly just the two trading between screaming duties, it would probably end up sounding like someone whipping a crossfader switch back and forth between Led Zeppelin and Greta Van Fleet haha.

I agree. I think the effects that they add to his lows takes away from how filthy they actually are
I 100% agree I like this sm better
AGREED
Not to mention his vocals are kind of far back in the mix
As a rock/metal producer I understand the decisions they made with the layering and doubling, their take on this song has a more melodic/cavernous sound, it's not meant to highlight Will's vocals only but rather the vibe of the song and the musicianship of the band. Why? because if they didn't, like this video proves, Will takes over the entire mix completely with his talent.

this is so much more clear sounding and you can definitely appreciate his skills a ton more
While I find that the layers in the studio version definitely create a really fuckin tangible dark feeling atmosphere/ambience, I must say that I agree with what you've said.

A lot of manipulating noise through your mouth to hit different areas and pushing from the chest past the throat into the mouth. welcome “home” 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Same is for me now
Me too now!! Just yesterday wtffffff 🙌🏻🙌🏻 (I’m 41)
I'm not gay but Will is about to make me act up
^ the bro metal community in its entirety.
Agreed
I'm glad I'm not alone in this 😂
That’s gay.
Dude, *I AM GAY* but Will is about to make me act up lol!
I don't understand how a human being is capable of making these noises. I'm impressed.
It's purely sickening this dudes talent
@@brookiesykes5216 It's litteraly a lot of heavy vocal workout. Talent takes 99% of work.
Este no es de este mundo
A steady diet of demon flesh.
@@Lidocain777 you can't convince me that this degree of talent isn't dependent on genetics
The part of :
Azrael
Guiding me Beyond the veil
Obitual
Free me from this mortal shell
just hits a diffrent part of my brain
This sounds even better than the studio version IMO, what a beast of a man, and this song is incredible !
Will gives a whole new meaning to "Sexy Beast" lol
Honestly, props to the vocal cords for recording this before their tragic death-
Can you teach us how to scream? 🥺
Years and years of practice will only take you to a point where you realize you are just a mere mortal compared to those incarnations of living metal gods.
Jokes aside, yeah, it's extremely hard. Been trying to learn it by myself, only got to a point of a middle-range growl and after like 10-15 mins I start to get tired 🙄
Look up the Zen of Screaming. Best start you can have, wish I had that 18 years ago lol
How to get those highs, you have to be able to talk normally in the gremlin/stitch voice. I can't explain how to do it except by making your tongue into a bowl and have it rest at the back of your throat
I can make you scream. 😉
@@UnitedSound kinky
Damn, without the layers, Will just keep the breakdown more BREAKDOWNS and more brutal. Awesome !!!
The studio version is fantastic but people will just say the layererd vocals are a sign he cannot do it live....... welp, lol
He does all the vocals you would assume you would hear in hell then at the end he brings out his sexy voice and says 'Thanks for watchin'. LEGEND.
I know right 🥲
the “These whispers keep clawing” gives me goosebumps
This dude is feeling himself, the confidence is great. I NEED to see Lorna live with Will now. I've seen them with CJ 3 time's, but I feel like Will's live vocals may take the 🎂. The new era of Lorna Shore is extremely promising.
Seeing them live with Will is PHENOMENAL!!!
Will live is CRAZY. Definitely one of my top 3 live vocalists in terms of endurance and talent.
I see you everwhere riffer
@@junioroliver9455 That's because I AM everywhere...and nowhere, at the same time. 🤯😱
