Hey McDonald, always respected your game but this match made me respect you as a person by far. Way to not fold and give up even when it’s a sad injury lost. Respect dude
as much as I like the sentiment I don't think we should expect athletes to continue when they are injured, possibly making the injury worse. their health is their livelihood
Actually i find nishioka to be much more entertaining than kei. He has charisma and his own style of play even though looked a bit like rafa lite. Kei is a bit too quiet and conventional kind of player
Rafa fake is better because he altready had the face of the champions ,McDonald just dont have face at all, so if both are fake then Rafa fake looks forgivable....
Noshioka heavy topspin forehand with tremendous height is really hard to hit back. Keep hitting against that kind ball maybe lots of burden to his opponent's abdomen. Good job from south korea ♡
It‘s tough for McDonald that he got injured but if he has to serve like that and play like he‘s given up the whole second and third sets, it would have been better if he had retired. As a result, the opponent felt disrespected and what an ugly handshake that was. McDonald should have said sorry at the net, not acting like he’s the one offended. Nadal, on the other hand, moves us and even earns respect from the opponent despite his injury, because of how he plays despite of injury, not because of the fact that he doesn’t retire.
Why would you say his opponent felt disrespected? That seems like you might be projecting. If he retires, half the people here bash on him for not figuring out a way to continue, even if serving underarm. He kept competing. Nishioka got a full win and not a default. Everyone wins. No one should give a crap about a handshake. I wouldn't want to touch your hand after a match, that's for sure.
He's played with a shoulder injury before and had to serve underarm. He won that other match. Pro tennis players are often not used to things that are not within a very limited scope. A slow, simple underarm serve can really mess them up. Sort of like how a very slow pitch can wreak havoc on a baseball player. He was probably seeing how far he could get and maybe if his opponent would mess up a lot. Who knows, he could have pulled out a win.
Mack got lucky Nadal got injured otherwise I feel like the same thing that happened every time would have happened that match. Wins first two sets then loses inexplicably in the last three. This is kind of like that. Wins against an injured Nadal and then flounders in straight sets against a similar ranked player.
Wha? Where does this psychological critique nonsense come from? Why would you think McDonald thinks Yoshi is easy to beat?? Did you not realize that McDonald had an injury?
@@lukaigor321 I did. Handshakes are dumb as shit. It's childish to *do* a handshake. That's what they make kids do in youth sports. Adults shouldn't be expected to. I sure as hell wouldn't touch your hand cause it's filled with your own filth and disease.
These guys play their best against Nadal and then go back to their normal level right after. Macdonald made a big speech after he won and was acting like a champion because he beat an old Rafa. All the other American players were encouraging him to 'get your win' against Nadal like that is the goal of their tennis career. He announced that he 'took it to Rafa' that's why he won. Now the draw is wide open for him to go deep and he can't even get a set against a player of similar ranking. Acting childish with the underhand serves and the end, he didn't even show respect to give a decent handshake. He returns to the shadows where he was all along.
Never fails. McDonald beats Nadal but gets crushed in the next round. McDonald beats Nadal in straight sets yet gets beat by a lesser guy than Nadal. Think McDonald’s just got lucky against Nadal or just caught Nadal on a bad day? I do.

What's with the last point? And the handshake? Did the Japanese player do anything wrong?
Nothing wrong with any of that that I saw.
No. It's the arrogance of the pea sized brain of the defeated US player who needs some professional help to find to his senses.
How fate can easily change! He was just on top of his tennis world just the other day, then down to bottom, on a grand slam even.
