Good to see these machines being kept alive.I have a David Brown 880 which is in the pipeline for an overhaul along with a Series 2 Land Rover, it's almost relaxing to work on the older stuff as opposed to the more modern stuff I usually work on!! great video!!

Another good one, enjoyed, ground speed pto used to be a mystery the 230 has never been used on ground speed. You must make a cd set.

G Day David, I dont think the ground speed is used on many but it would be good for planting or spreading fertiliser.

Spiral retaining ring mate, supposed to have a higher thrust load capacity compared to a similar sized circlip or snap ring.

G’day mate well that was very interesting the more you look at it the more you think what can go wrong! Seriously though it’s a work of art that gear box, you know you have the perfect set up with your chair and it’s side table I thought that was for beer but I reckon you’ll get around to that. I really like these videos that you do Lance I like the mechanical side of it and how the thing work, your lighting and filming are fine very bright it’s coming out well and the sound has improved also. How is the business going now after that girl pissed off and left you in the lurch a bit, Im sure your on top of things now anyway mate look forward to the next one keep safe and well John, by the way the left knee replacement is starting to get better still painful but I can walk on it.

G Day John, Glad your knee is slowly getting better, the days are long when you are in pain. These are our old camping chairs and they are handy in the workshop with that little table. No beer on them at the moment Im on the wagon for a while again trying to loose the Christmas pudding.

When replacing the Pinion and crown, are there any special setting, shims, etc aside of preloading the bearings?

I'm restoring a massey 50. It needed the ring and pinion replaced along with hydraulic pump. I found pieces of brass in the spider gears housing. Do I need to take it apart and replace those shims or will it be fine

Yes you will need to strip it to replace the brass items.

@Bundy Bears Shed Dang. I was hoping not to have to do that. Do u have a video showing how to tear that spider gears casing apart and replacing those shims?
