Great video! The school I went to for seventh grade used Tone 7 for fire drills. They had a really old fire alarm system with the old Gamewell stations that look like mini street boxes, but whatever horns there were got replaced with Gentex SHG's. They were probably afraid to touch it since they had just moved into that building that year. And yes, believe it or not, I went to three different middle schools. Not because of behavioral problems - this one was a school for gifted students (don't know how I got in there lol), and the next was because I moved towns.

The reason is because they are much louder and basically make it so if you stay in the building you will be very miserable, thus urging all occupants to evacuate.
My old middle school and my old high school used to have this system. There 2 phones that you can make an all call with such as the main office, and the assistant principal’s office. Except guidance office, it only calls the rooms. Both assistant principal’s and guidance offices have the Bogen Staff Station phone (MCESS) that looks like a western electric 2500 phone. I think you can use any corded phone to do that.
I totally remember that 8th bell tone at my sixth and fifth grade middle school unfortunately, now those days are gone but I’m glad I got to hear it again

I'm in the process of getting this system right now (REALLY pricey 😳) but when I do I'll make a video of it as well. I'm really excited. This is the system that all of the schools in my town's school district use and what I've grown up with.
My highschool had it set so after every bell there would be a 4 minute interval of FM Radio music playing, then one minute of silence, then the second bell to indicate that the next class had started. The radio was a part of a CD drive and other components on the multicom rack, wonder how that worked and was set up

I believe most high schools in Los Angeles have this intercom system, and some used a modified version of bell tone 1 (0:17) for the class change bell and tone 6 (0:36) for the tardy bell.
when i was in middle school they had this thing called a clean up bell and it means pack up before the regular bell rings 0:45 that was the clean up bell tone they had at my middle school

Bobby F yes, phones alone are like 4-700 dollars. Got lucky, my system had the cards built in them, and I paid around 200 bucks. But had to buy the relay card separately and power supply (another 300 bucks or so) and speakers are cheap. But well worth it to “play” around lol

Yeah for some reason coming across parts and supplies for this system is pretty tough, especially at a reasonable price. It gets really expensive really quickly on eBay. I currently have an Avaya Partner system set up with speakers and phones all throughout the house. It's also a pretty good system. I've had it all set up for probably about 6 or so years now. Eventually I want to replace it with a Multicom 2000 system and do some rewiring and updates throughout the house. If you ever consider selling your system or are looking to do some sort of a trade off type-thing please definitely keep me in mind! Thanks again for the reply and the great video.
