I love the idea of 'being in your imagination' and letting that drive the process. It's comforting to know that when you are dealing with the difficulties of writing, that if you pause and listen to your imagination the answers and solutions will come. The voice is always there if we listen. Love that!
I would love to hear more from authors who do more than just write. Obviously there's nothing wrong with "just" being a writer, but as someone who came from an acting/directing background, it adds a different perspective on story telling as a whole. And I imagine the same is true for other types of artists as well.

I love how masterclass takes the vibes of each person and sets up their backdrop to match them. I haven’t taken his yet, but this makes me reeeeeeaaaaaaally want to. *edit* To feel the rightness of who I am. Goosebumps!
Aw, reading rainbow I remember that show!! This is an amazing video! so informative! Thank you for bringing yet another awesome video to your channel! I love seeing the different perspectives on storytelling! Trust and communication is the key to nearly all things dealing with the human condition. This masterclass seems like one I would very much be interested in! I feel inspired already. Thanks again Sara!
Masters teach alot of things. Cool to see people lile you slowing things down and breaking things up. Brings a different level of understanding of self Worth. Can we ever know enough?
Good morning, Sara! I remember watching LeVar on his show, 'Reading Rainbow' when I was younger and liked the stories that were told. He really is a great storyteller among others. Actually Sara, a lot of people don't read books per say, but everybody reads in different ways because for me it has to be a great story or I get bored quick, then never read it again. But I do agree with him and the advice he gives, especially what he says at the end of this video. Anyway, have a wonderful day and think positive.
Sara, thanks a lot for sharing this with us! This is no doubt one of my favorite videos on your channel so far. I'm going to worship this person for a while now.
Plenty of fascinating insights from this Masterclass. The value of reading aloud spoke to me (pun not intended), as I have read quite a bit about Jane Austen's writing process and she relied on reading segments of her novels to family and friends. I also respect his advice on loving the process, rather than chasing gratification. Excellent advice, thanks for sharing.
I have considered Neil Gaiman's course but wasn't in the right headspace when I started taking it so I only got about two lessons in, I should go back to it though!
I'm surprise you're not yet sponsored by Masterclass. When the company was first started, I saw some small RUclipsrs who promoted Masterclass so they got classes for free and probably a percentage if the link was clicked. But that was when their writing course was only James Patterson.
One other quick question and it's a purely technical one about RUclips. When you show this much content of LaVar Burton's Masterclass does RUclips's copywrite claim go into effect and if so are you not able to monetize this video?
Great question. I haven't had a masterclass video flagged for copyright yet (or any video for that matter), there's a law that you can use footage as long as there is a commentary or something that adds to it and isn't just stealing it. I used less than a 10th of the class in this video, so I don't see it being a problem, but if it does get copyrighted, Masterclass will make the Adsense money off of this video
When it was offered by Masterclass, it struck me as a massive stretch for LeVar Burton to have a Masterclass (which I have yet to take), as a master of story, as I only knew of him as the Geordie LaForge character from Star Trek TNG :-) Now that I know he is an accomplished director, and so forth, as per his Shuttlepod appearance, etc. it looks a lot more credible :-)

Reading Rainbow and Star Trek would be proud. I could listen to him talk forever, it’s so calming and peaceful. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!

I agree, I think the set design is so cool!!
I hope Geordi also included a lesson on maintaining warp engines on starships.
He did not, I'm sure that could be it's own masterclass 😂

Thanks for making this, I’m considering getting a subscription to learn more about writing and story telling for my videos.
They’ve got lots of great classes!
@@SaraLubratt thanks for replying!
Seems high on creative inspiration. Thanks for the summary. Have you considered doing Neil Gaiman's course or something similar for books on writing?
I have considered Neil Gaiman's course but wasn't in the right headspace when I started taking it so I only got about two lessons in, I should go back to it though!
Finished in a day?! 😱 The commitment, the attention span, the mental strength perseverance! 😂
It was like two hours, I just watched that instead of watching youtube :)
Seems like this was a very informative class, despite the compact size!
I thought it was!
Hi Sara loved your video, how do i best gain access to this course? Only through the subscription on masterclass or are there other ways?
Unfortunately just through a masterclass subscription or paying just for the one class
