I was really confused until I read the description. I guess the writer and artist tried to leave it up to interpretation with the Batman falling part since you can see his face has a visible worry when they fall, leaving you to wonder if he willingly let go or slipped. But I wasn’t a big fan of this short story. Particularly how it began, because I really feel Batman was acting out of character here since I feel he would turn the man that did that to Alfred into a literal vegetable.
