He was such a sweet Soul as well.. !! // ..and one more thing.. Per Gessle and the Band will forever be in the Music History Books for all the Beautiful songs they have shared with us !! Dude, at least once per year I listen to the whole Rosette catalogue. I'm not even a 'pop music' fan but they are some of the most perfectly crafted pop-rock songs and full of emotion. Who's even writing stuff like this now? It's so obvious and effortless that it sounds like it 'should' be easy to write... But it's quite the opposite. Brilliant. Thanks for the breakdown!
Have you ever listened to Marie's solo stuff and Per Gessle's band Gyllene Tider? I know it's all in Swedish, but it's all amaing. I would recommend Marie Fredriksson Sparvöga (Eye of a Sparrow) and Gyllene Tider Sommartider (Summer Time)
@Guitargate It would be awesome to see you do "It must have been love" or something by Gyllene Tider, the Swedish pop band that made Per Gessle a famous teenager in Sweden in the late 70s. Their biggest hit is "Sommartider" (summer times) and it's a perfect scream-along-song! He's been tormenting the Swedes with hooky pop-songs ever since! 😂
Even as a Metallica/ Slayer / Testament etc .....fan when this song came out I couldn't help but love the song and Marie's incredible voice , she was also rather cute so that helped . RIP to a amazing talent.
This song always gives me good vibes. We used to listen to Roxette and Fleetwood Mac casettes a lot when I was a kid and we were traveling for ski trips to Slovakia or Poland.
Fantastic song thanks for posting, there were so many songs like this in the 80,s like alone by heart or first time by Robin beck and always had super solos

It would be fun to se your reaction to one of Per's other guitar-based hits, like "Sommartider", with his other band "Gyllene Tider".
I've never actually seen you struggle to find the right sequence on notes until this song at the start which I find fascinating...love ya work mate, you're amazing.
Per Gessle is a true Master in writing songs !!! He was already a Legend here in Sweden before starting Roxette... Go check History of the band named Gyllene Tider and you`ll find some great facts regarding Per and his creativity doing Hit-songs !! .. Awesome reaction, Thanks for sharing !! :D
She was a very tall imposing woman who had an amazing voice and a fierce temper. This, according to a roadie friend of mine who worked their gig in Melbourne Australia (in the 90s), who found out while attending to the lead vocal mic before soundcheck - she came up behind him and yelled at him for looping the mic cable around the stand before promptly pushing him off the 8 or 10 feet high stage. He, landing on his back, resolved to not make that mistake again. The pressure of touring huh :) And I with my own unrelated claim to fame of having Maralyn Manson spit on me against my will. I was stuck in the mosh and my arms were tightly pinned, he spat into the crowd and all i could do was watch it lob from his lips in a perfect arch landing on my left cheek just under my eye... there will never be a time like the 90s in live music :)

Another request. I've seen many reactions to Rush 2112 and almost all of them seem gobsmacked by the solo for Soliloquy but hardly any of them say anything meaningful about it. it's my favorite Alex Lifeson solo, even eclipsing his masterpiece solo on La Villa Strangiato for me.
