The problem with having an honest conversation about this topic is that people in the organizations will never talk about the rituals in a public forum. So you really can't have a real conversation because that would include having the ritual side-by-side with The Word and seeing how it lines up. The only ones who will cross that line are people who have denounced.
U must be involved. Matthew 6:24-26 The servant can only prioritize one or the other. They might be "loyal" in a sense, to both. Separate masters will command the servant in different, competing directions. As a result, the servant will naturally grow to hate, or despise one of the two, while growing to love & be devoted to the other. God doesn't have secrets. I'm glad it's been exposed, because the people that are in this needs to know the truth. And folk's have died in this mess. Family members, etc. And if you are in this Repent & get out. Your soul will be dangerous, dark in the tunnel of darkness forever.
We don't have to. It's NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. It's fraternity/ sorority business. We are secret societies and there is nothing wrong with being a secret society. These religious zealots want to demonize these organizations on what they see and listen to on the Internet. Their interpretation of Scripture is not ours. Not for one moment I felt that my fraternal experience was practicing idolatry, or practicing witchcraft.

Would you all also consider opening up your ritual books and see if it lines up with the Word of God? That is it right there. Anything we want to know about ourselves and ask God to show anything that is not of his will, God will show you. You have to want to know the truth and be ready to let go whatever it is that is not God’s will. Their answers were worldly and not spiritual.
Amen!! I just officially renounced Feb 6th, got my official exit letter. The issue with Greek life is the oaths, rituals, hymns, etc that were taken and performed to become a part of these secret society organizations. In Matt 5:33-37, God is very clear in his Word about taking oaths and they are only to be done unto God and God only. Everyone needs to seek God, and get clarity from Him because His Holy Spirit will tell you. And why did we kneel at an altar in the dark, with candles if this is not anything spiritual. Anytime one is at an altar, it is an interaction and covenant with a spiritual entity, the question is what spiritual entity?!?
Idolatry is idolatry, God doesn’t compromise. As much as we dont like it, we need to denounce any form of agreement or fellowship with things that don’t align with what God SAYS and who God IS. We also need to be mindful that yes there are some positive things that can come from being in a society such as fraternity and sorority career wise , education wise, etc but please be educated on the origin and root of what you are representing proudly and not just what we are told and see on the surface . Amen!!! I denounced DST in 2022. Many spiritual leaders are keeping themselves in bondage and leading others astray. They forget that they did bow down before another god (an alter) and signed their names into a covenant during the initiation process. We should only be in covenant with Jesus Christ. I crossed at the age of 19 and was very naive and ignorant to what was going on, but when you know better you have to come out from among them!
The focus is not on denouncing but pursuing holiness. As we mature in Christ - there are things that will fall off. Delta's did bow down at an altar. Delta's do say this at initiation " you're taking upon yourself vows from which you can never be freed....they follow you to final judgement".

When you do service, it's jn the name of the orgination, the org gets the glory. Look at the vows you made. These orgs are not based on Christian principles. If is not a christian organization, should Christians be apart or in agreement or covenant with it? We have to really understand the scripture about it. If you are a member you vow to be a brother or sister to ALL the members. Even, if those members are not Christian. What does the word of God has to say about that.

So true. I’m 62 years old. The Holy Spirit warned me to get out in 1988. I was a “Legacy” and it was a stronghold. After a pattern of deaths and destruction, I got the final warning and officially renounced this month. God is a jealous God. He is not tolerating idolatry anymore. This is leading people astray and is indicative of Isaiah 5:20-21, Proverbs 14:12, Romans 1:22, and 1 Corinthians 2:14. It’s also typical to call those who seek to separate from the world and truly follow The Lord as we are directed in 1 John 2:25-17, “legalistic.” Let’s be clear, Jesus said in Luke 6:46, “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?” Being in these organizations is idolatry whether one chooses to accept it or not. We give all glory to The Most High God that we (and many others) have come out deception in this area and have gladly and proudly renounced and denounced these orgs to truly follow Jesus (1 Peter 1:14 states, “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance”). We pray anyone in these orgs will humble themselves, really seek The Lord, and thoroughly examine the rituals and the true root of these organizations because this is very serious and will not stand before The Most High GOD. We need to focus on how GOD views this, not culture, not feelings, and not selfish and vain desires.

I've spent over 2 hours reading every entry in this comment section. Allow me to say this: GET INTO THE WORD! The grass withers and the flower fades, but the Word of God will stand forever (Isaiah 40:8). In a recent edition of a local Black newspaper, a well learned man ("theologian") defended his membership and participation in a D9 organization. Just like the Walkers, no scripture. We shouldn't preach and teach our own opinions but what thus says the Lord. It took me 36 years to see the light (I renounced in July of 2019) but I thank and praise God continually for His freedom and deliverance. Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus. Open their eyes, Lord, they need to see Jesus.
Hello Bishop, I hope all is well. First, I just want to say I appreciate you for providing balance to the conversation and I love to hear a topic like this from both angles (denounced vs. non denounced) and I can say that both sides provide a lot of good areas for dialogue. You are completely correct that we don’t have a Heaven or Hell to put anybody in so to be legalistic and judgemental is definitely not the way to go. This topic should be handled with care and really in involves looking at the root of all the D9 organizations and really see if it’s something our Father wants us doing as believers. As a believer, I do feel like it is good to have these conversations so that Greek vs. non Greek members can have a good understanding and that they take whatever their concern is to the Father ultimately to make a decision. As a previous member of Phi Beta Sigma, I can say that I looked at the organization as a whole to make a decision to denounce rather than individual base. No one in the organization made me feel inferior or disrespected (this does not include the hazing process prior to initiation which is completely against scripture and contradicting to those calling themselves believers), but truly made me feel welcomed (once I was initiated). The biggest thing that made me denounce was really looking at the root of the organization and seeing where the organizations got their influence from. Before I officially denounced, I started to notice that a lot of the rituals and practices (mention of Greek Gods, subtle twisting of scripture, etc.) that MY SPECIFIC PLEDGE CLASS had to partake in to OFFICIALLY join the organization were contradicting the very Holy scriptures that give doctrine, reproof and correction. Note: I purposely said MY PLEDGE CLASS because I wasn’t involved in others, but I’ve heard a lot of similar stories of the initiation process of other D9 members. Also, God brought the Children out of Egypt from a system that was heavily influenced in false God worship, and the Organization I pledged and made an oath to admits in the Centennial book that a lot of the ritual and practices of the organization are influenced by Kemetic(Egyptian) practices 🤔. Now to me, that brings about a huge concern and deserves to be looked into more. I could go on but I just wanted to provide some perspective to the conversation because I do feel like a True believer’s reason for denouncing are based on external research along with using the primary source (The Bible) to make a SOUND and not EMOTIONAL decision. Sorry for the long message, but this is a topic that is near to my heart. I love Gods people and I desire that we all have a True relationship with Him. A former Delta, La La Jenkins, shared a great revelation of the meaning of Christian principles as it relates to these organizations: all the D9 and Mason/Eastern organizations have altars, hymns, etc. It is important that we have a good understanding of what altars and hymns are and when Christians should use them.

Yes to your questions and not to mention the other ungodly activities that comes with being a part of a Greek organization. I renounced my letters last year. Just do a study on idolatry, demonic curses and covenants. It's not just Greek organizations, but any secret society organizations such as free masonry, eastern star, etc. I kept trying to defend it and give reasons why it was ok for me to be a part. When I was in college I saw all the vile initiations that these groups were involved in. Also, they pledge allegiance to greek symbols along with chanting stuff that's not of God. To each their own but it's similar to a cult or boulé in my experience.

Joining any organization that requires you to have a proxy god such as Minerva for Delta is idolatry even if the people teaching on it are pastors and seem pleasant. We cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). It’s impossible. If you’re deciding on whether to join earnestly seek God from a neutral position (Proverbs 3:5-6, Jeremiah 29:13, Psalm 119:105). Look up Dr. Charles Stanley’s sermon how to find the will of God here on YT. He gives practical advice from scripture to guide you. And a tip on identifying teaching that goes against the Lord and His Word, i.e. false teaching, is to test the spirit. Essentially see if what they say lines up with what God says and then no matter how much it costs you choose to follow God. Jesus died so we could walk in freedom (Galatians 5:1). Church size, sincerity, preaching, smiles, being pleasant are not a test of truth only truth is a test of Truth and that Truth is God’s Word alone.
Hi. Just some food for thought: I was a new Christian when I was thinking of joining a frat in college. At that time the Lord said to me, "You can't have brotherhood without Fatherhood." I said "Wow" and never again considered joining. As time passed, I spoke to other Christians who said they joined because of service, so they could help improve their communities and for the betterment of society as a whole. Not to mention creating a family bond with other like-minded individuals. Then, and still now, I ask, "But isn't that what the church is for?" Only difference is, the church gives all credit and glory to God, in the name of Jesus. Frats and sororities take the credit and glory for themselves, all in the name of frats and sororities. Just think about that.
What's so concerning about you and your wife's opinions is that you're actually condemning those who've been convicted, came under obedience to The Lord and denounced their allegiance to said organizations. You compared them to pharisees and made it sound as if they're all babies in Christ, when that's simply not true. Everyone comes to an understanding and yields to The Holy Spirit's convictions in their own time. But when I inquired about the rituals NO ONE gave me a straight answer. So I googled it and when I saw the twisting of Scripture, I immediately changed my mind about pursuing membership….like I said IT DOES NOT TAKE ALL OF THAT!!!
I will be praying for this couple and all of my loved ones in secret societies. I have never been a member, and I never wanted to be. Every Divine Nine member must bow down and kneel at a table dedicated to that fraternity or sorority. They verbally call it a table, but written down in the ritual it is called an “altar.” You are forced to bow down blind-folded before an altar. Altars have one purpose and one purpose only. They are dedicated to deities and are needed to help during the worship of those deities (gods). This is where sacrifices are offered up to their god or gods. If you are before the altar and there is no sacrifice, then you are the sacrifice. In Alpha there was food and drink that were dedicated to the gods of Alpha Phi Alpha. They literally say this during the ritual. From the actual ritual: “The candidate shall kneel and eat the food prepared by the gods for ALPHA PHI ALPHA men. ... The candidate shall drink to the health of ALPHA. PHI ALPHA.” When you take and eat the food and drink (sacraments), you are now in agreement or covenant with those pagan gods and principalities that are actually behind that fraternity/sorority. You also participate in chants and sing hymns that are dedicated solely to your organization. Chants and hymns original roots are found in religion, only. They exalt the org above all things. Some may say, aah, we do that but we really don’t mean it. Matthew 12:36 “But I tell you, on the day of judgment people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak.”

My personal belief is maybe if the Greek letter organizations did not do positive things for the community you would make a valid point about the rituals and it having no substance but rather a distraction. I agree with bishop and First Lady as with anything you should check yourself before joining on why you want to in the first place. If you want to “belong” to something you are doing it for the wrong reason. If you are joining for sisterhood, betterment of the community, and to be an inspiration for generations to come I don’t see the issue until you start neglecting God. I understand this is a hard topic for most. But when you have been apart and have seen what goes on, there is no way you can be a part. To each it’s own. But for me, I made I choice to leave. I don’t need any of that to have sisterhood nor serve my community. There is lots of information on why one would denounce these organizations on google. People have shared their stories. I personally just chosen not continue down that path. It has nothing to do with being religious. God holds you accountable for the knowledge you have.

This is where you all get your rituals from. This is where you get your secret handshakes, rap of admissions, etc. from. You're all Freemasons and don't even know it. These organizations all are religious entities. These fraternities and sororities all have their own hymns, chants, altars, worship (i.e. We greet thee O Delta Sigma Theta), praise dances (i.e. step routines), gathering spots (i.e. chapter, district, region, and annual meetings or conclaves or whatever you call them), alms-giving (i.e. chapter and national dues), services for dead members that enter into their chapter of rest as if you can arrogantly take your organization into the afterlife and present it in the presence of the Lord, God Almight himself, etc. You are cursed and hellbound unless you renounce and denounce your organizations today. While you have a church, doing good works in your church, shout the name of Jesus, etc. you are cursed and the Lord is not with you. - Matthew 7:21-23.

It doesn’t matter that you are a “theologian and nerd” because we all must be led by the Holy Spirit. Theology is man’s study of God. Revelation is God revealing Himself to man, and God has revealed to many of us that these organizations are rooted, at a foundational level, in demonic practices. As a former member of Delta Sigma Theta, I have read the ritual and we absolutely bowed down before an altar and pledged our lives to an org that has a demonic spirit attached to it. Minerva is a demon according to 1 Cor 10:20. So we are judging the whole because it’s in the whole organizations ritual book. Also, your interpretation of “no other gods before me” is incomplete. That word before in Hebrew also means “together with,” “beside,” and “in addition to.” We shall have no other god in addition to the God of the Bible and there’s no way to justify having a false god over your heart on your crest. Denouncers sharing what God revealed to them IS love. God is calling us out and it’s sad that you compared this to the Pharisees and being legalistic. We are sharing what God said share.
Absolutely NOT! These orgs are indeed idolatry. Maybe you’ve forgotten the rituals you participated in which you made oaths and vows to a false god. Anyone in a BGLO has made a covenant with Satan, although it’s very deceptive. I know because I was a member of DST. Even if I didn’t idolize anything else, simply the fact that I dedicated my life to the org is wrong. God told me to get out and I did.
We had a young lady come our platform to denounce her affiliation with Delta Sigma Theta and the deal breaker was the oath and rituals. We also had a believer come on a couple weeks later to give the other side of being a Christian and being an active member of a D-9. If you're not going to be open enough to address the oath and rituals attached to joining these organizations then the conversation can't really be genuine. The oath and rituals is what makes it a covenant. I respect Bishop, I went to his church for years while at TSU years ago but real is real.

Look I respect my elders and I love that you both are passionate about our community So, I have a real question and I hope you see this. IF Jesus asked you to sacrifice your membership, status, and relationships would you? I can say a lot more but I will keep is at this because this is one of the most important questions as we walk with Christ. "God am I willing to die to my way for your life?"

My husband and I are deliverance ministers and have long believed and prayed for the church’s eyes to be opened on this topic. We were praying for a young lady that had denounced a Greek letter organization she was in. This young lady had a tattoo on her back. We have been trained to know that every tattoo Carrie’s a demonic power no matter what it says. As we prayed for her the spirit confessed that the tattoo carried a certain number of powers. The spirit confessed that the tattoo represented sisterhood. We did not know at the time what the number meant. As we continued to pray and labor with her one of the Intercessors was shown by Holy Spirit that the number represented each line sister. When the young lady became aware we asked her how many line sisters she had and it was the exact number given by the evil spirit. There was a power for every line sister that was on her line. It’s not a game! Unfortunately we had to embrace the true African church to learn and be trained . The American church is not teaching the truth about so many things. Witchcraft and secret societies are synonymous and go hand in hand. There is no balance to be brought, or no fun to be had in any of it. As for Santa, God showed me when my now 27 year old was 6 to stop the lies with that. He told me to look closely and as I did I noticed that “Santa” and “Satan” are the same letters!! The Lord said to me when she finds out the truth it will cause her to question if the God that she cannot see is real. We stopped and had 5 children after her. I appreciate you both for having this conversation. I have friends and family in these orgs and from what I can see I would disagree about your points on legalism. While I never told anyone my “Why” shoot I even lied about my why just to keep in close to my chest…I had the right reasons for joining, to continue serving my community-something I grew up doing as a young kid. As a graduate of and Hbcu the Greek culture gave them a sense of identity that’s why they joined. The point is that everyone, I mean everybody in my close circle and publicly knows about my renouncement and denouncement. I immediately spoke to my chapter president in Atlanta over the phone and sent the chapter an email. Then I sent an official letter affirming this via email to the national organization in Baltimore. I love Acts 17 because paul is talking to people who are ignorant about their idolatry, even calling them religious and telling them that God is not worshiped with men’s hands (good works). So, While I love to serve my community, would you agree that Acts 17 tells us that good works is not the end all be all; as far as religiousness, is it fair to say that the rituals performed by D9 organizations are well, religious? Lastly, don’t you find it fitting that he is speaking to greeks in this chapter?
The problem with having an honest conversation about this topic is that people in the organizations will never talk about the rituals in a public forum. So you really can't have a real conversation because that would include having the ritual side-by-side with The Word and seeing how it lines up. The issue with Greek life is the oaths, rituals, hymns, etc that were taken and performed to become a part of these secret society organizations. In Matt 5:33-37, God is very clear in his Word about taking oaths and they are only to be done unto God and God only. Everyone needs to seek God, and get clarity from Him because His Holy Spirit will tell you. And why did we kneel at an altar in the dark, with candles if this is not anything spiritual. They forget that they did bow down before another god (an alter) and signed their names into a covenant during the initiation process. We should only be in covenant with Jesus Christ. This is leading people astray and is indicative of Isaiah 5:20-21, Proverbs 14:12, Romans 1:22, and 1 Corinthians 2:14. I've spent over 2 hours reading every entry in this comment section. Allow me to say this: GET INTO THE WORD! The grass withers and the flower fades, but the Word of God will stand forever (Isaiah 40:8). In a recent edition of a local Black newspaper, a well learned man ("theologian") defended his membership and participation in a D9 organization. Just like the Walkers, no scripture. We shouldn't preach and teach our own opinions but what thus says the Lord. It took me 36 years to see the light (I renounced in July of 2019) but I thank and praise God continually for His freedom and deliverance. Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus. Open their eyes, Lord, they need to see Jesus.

Hello Bishop, I hope all is well. First, I just want to say I appreciate you for providing balance to the conversation and I love to hear a topic like this from both angles (denounced vs. non denounced) and I can say that both sides provide a lot of good areas for dialogue. You are completely correct that we don’t have a Heaven or Hell to put anybody in so to be legalistic and judgemental is definitely not the way to go. This topic should be handled with care and really in involves looking at the root of all the D9 organizations and really see if it’s something our Father wants us doing as believers. As a believer, I do feel like it is good to have these conversations so that Greek vs. non Greek members can have a good understanding and that they take whatever their concern is to the Father ultimately to make a decision. As a previous member of Phi Beta Sigma, I can say that I looked at the organization as a whole to make a decision to denounce rather than individual base. No one in the organization made me feel inferior or disrespected (this does not include the hazing process prior to initiation which is completely against scripture and contradicting to those calling themselves believers), but truly made me feel welcomed (once I was initiated). The biggest thing that made me denounce was really looking at the root of the organization and seeing where the organizations got their influence from. Before I officially denounced, I started to notice that a lot of the rituals and practices (mention of Greek Gods, subtle twisting of scripture, etc.) that MY SPECIFIC PLEDGE CLASS had to partake in to OFFICIALLY join the organization were contradicting the very Holy scriptures that give doctrine, reproof and correction.
Note: I purposely said MY PLEDGE CLASS because I wasn’t involved in others, but I’ve heard a lot of similar stories of the initiation process of other D9 members.
Also, God brought the Children out of Egypt from a system that was heavily influenced in false God worship, and the Organization I pledged and made an oath to admits in the Centennial book that a lot of the ritual and practices of the organization are influenced by Kemetic(Egyptian) practices 🤔. Now to me, that brings about a huge concern and deserves to be looked into more. I could go on but I just wanted to provide some perspective to the conversation because I do feel like a True believer’s reason for denouncing are based on external research along with using the primary source (The Bible) to make a SOUND and not EMOTIONAL decision. Sorry for the long message, but this is a topic that is near to my heart. I love Gods people and I desire that we all have a True relationship with Him. Yes to your questions and not to mention the other ungodly activities that comes with being a part of a Greek organization. I renounced my letters last year. Just do a study on idolatry, demonic curses and covenants. It's not just Greek organizations, but any secret society organizations such as free masonry, eastern star, etc. I kept trying to defend it and give reasons why it was ok for me to be a part. One day the Holy Spirit asked me how am I praying for other people's deliverance and freedom when I was bound and in covenant with other gods?? The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth.

Joining any organization that requires you to have a proxy god such as Minerva for Delta is idolatry even if the people teaching on it are pastors and seem pleasant. We cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). It’s impossible. If you’re deciding on whether to join earnestly seek God from a neutral position (Proverbs 3:5-6, Jeremiah 29:13, Psalm 119:105). Look up Dr. Charles Stanley’s sermon how to find the will of God here on YT. He gives practical advice from scripture to guide you.
And a tip on identifying teaching that goes against the Lord and His Word, i.e. false teaching, is to test the spirit. Essentially see if what they say lines up with what God says and then no matter how much it costs you choose to follow God. Jesus died so we could walk in freedom (Galatians 5:1). Church size, sincerity, preaching, smiles, being pleasant are not a test of truth only truth is a test of Truth and that Truth is God’s Word alone.

Hi. Just some food for thought: I was a new Christian when I was thinking of joining a frat in college. At that time the Lord said to me, "You can't have brotherhood without Fatherhood." I said "Wow" and never again considered joining. As time passed, I spoke to other Christians who said they joined because of service, so they could help improve their communities and for the betterment of society as a whole. Not to mention creating a family bond with other like-minded individuals. Then, and still now, I ask, "But isn't that what the church is for?" Only difference is, the church gives all credit and glory to God, in the name of Jesus. Frats and sororities take the credit and glory for themselves, all in the name of frats and sororities. Just think about that.

Every Divine Nine member must bow down and kneel at a table dedicated to that fraternity or sorority. They verbally call it a table, but written down in the ritual it is called an “altar.” You are forced to bow down blind-folded before an altar. Altars have one purpose and one purpose only. They are dedicated to deities and are needed to help during the worship of those deities (gods). This is where sacrifices are offered up to their god or gods. If you are before the altar and there is no sacrifice, then you are the sacrifice. In Alpha there was food and drink that were dedicated to the gods of Alpha Phi Alpha. They literally say this during the ritual. From the actual ritual: “The candidate shall kneel and eat the food prepared by the gods for ALPHA PHI ALPHA men. ... The candidate shall drink to the health of ALPHA. PHI ALPHA.” When you take and eat the food and drink (sacraments), you are now in agreement or covenant with those pagan gods and principalities that are actually behind that fraternity/sorority. You also participate in chants and sing hymns that are dedicated solely to your organization. Chants and hymns original roots are found in religion, only. They exalt the org above all things. Some may say, aah, we do that but we really don’t mean it. Matthew 12:36 “But I tell you, on the day of judgment people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak.”

My personal belief is maybe if the Greek letter organizations did not do positive things for the community you would make a valid point about the rituals and it having no substance but rather a distraction. It doesn’t matter that you are a “theologian and nerd” because we all must be led by the Holy Spirit. Theology is man’s study of God. Revelation is God revealing Himself to man, and God has revealed to many of us that these organizations are rooted, at a foundational level, in demonic practices.
As a former member of Delta Sigma Theta, I have read the ritual and we absolutely bowed down before an altar and pledged our lives to an org that has a demonic spirit attached to it. Minerva is a demon according to 1 Cor 10:20. So we are judging the whole because it’s in the whole organizations ritual book.
Also, your interpretation of “no other gods before me” is incomplete. That word before in Hebrew also means “together with,” “beside,” and “in addition to.” We shall have no other god in addition to the God of the Bible and there’s no way to justify having a false god over your heart on your crest.
Denouncers sharing what God revealed to them IS love. God is calling us out and it’s sad that you compared this to the Pharisees and being legalistic. We are sharing what God said share.

Absolutely NOT! These orgs are indeed idolatry. Maybe you’ve forgotten the rituals you participated in which you made oaths and vows to a false god. Anyone in a BGLO has made a covenant with Satan, although it’s very deceptive. I know because I was a member of DST. Even if I didn’t idolize anything else, simply the fact that I dedicated my life to the org is wrong. God told me to get out and I did.

We had a young lady come our platform to denounce her affiliation with Delta Sigma Theta and the deal breaker was the oath and rituals. We also had a believer come on a couple weeks later to give the other side of being a Christian and being an active member of a D-9. If you're not going to be open enough to address the oath and rituals attached to joining these organizations then the conversation can't really be genuine. The oath and rituals is what makes it a covenant. I respect Bishop, I went to his church for years while at TSU years ago but real is real.

Look I respect my elders and I love that you both are passionate about our community So, I have a real question and I hope you see this. IF Jesus asked you to sacrifice your membership, status, and relationships would you? I can say a lot more but I will keep is at this because this is one of the most important questions as we walk with Christ. "God am I willing to die to my way for your life?"

There’s a sense of fear that comes over you when you realize the decision you have to make but a boldness to at comes from the Holy spirit. For me it was to make my calls to and tell this org “hey I will not be pledging … because there are discrepancies with my faith and If I pledge I would knowingly be in error with Jesus.” So thats my question to folks who claim Jesus in D9 because I can argue that they are not built on Christian principles as they claim to be.
I am here to genuinely and truthfully speak of my experience . I will leave it to Holy Spirit to speak and guide each individual as they truly seek the Lord for guidance. My husband and I are deliverance ministers and have long believed and prayed for the church’s eyes to be opened on this topic. We were praying for a young lady that had denounced a Greek letter organization she was in. This young lady had a tattoo on her back. We have been trained to know that every tattoo Carrie’s a demonic power no matter what it says. As we prayed for her the spirit confessed that the tattoo carried a certain number of powers. The spirit confessed that the tattoo represented sisterhood. We did not know at the time what the number meant. As we continued to pray and labor with her one of the Intercessors was shown by Holy Spirit that the number represented each line sister. When the young lady became aware we asked her how many line sisters she had and it was the exact number given by the evil spirit. There was a power for every line sister that was on her line. It’s not a game! Unfortunately we had to embrace the true African church to learn and be trained . The American church is not teaching the truth about so many things. Witchcraft and secret societies are synonymous and go hand in hand. There is no balance to be brought, or no fun to be had in any of it. As for Santa, God showed me when my now 27 year old was 6 to stop the lies with that. He told me to look closely and as I did I noticed that “Santa” and “Satan” are the same letters!! The Lord said to me when she finds out the truth it will cause her to question if the God that she cannot see is real. We stopped and had 5 children after her. We have told all of them that Santa is not real and we do no Santa pictures. We embrace any ounce of truth that Holy Spirit reveals to us. He is the Spirit of TRUTH! He is not interested in us having fun but living and walking in TRUTH. When we learn better we do better. Blessings to all!!

As believers, we are called to deny ourselves, and we are not abnormal for laying down idols! We are just called out and set apart. Also, there is no better way to serve than as a "member" of the body of set apart believers!
I thank GOD for being GOD! The Bible speaks about false prophets and teachings! We must study and do our own research, I desired to join a D9 at one time but because of my spiritual beliefs I could not, this is a watered down conversation. Let’s talk about the idol gods lower case g that you have pledged to. You can do community service without paying to be apart of an organization and without doing rituals. It’s very demonic. I appreciate you both for having this conversation. I have friends and family in these orgs and from what I can see I would disagree about your points on legalism. While I never told anyone my “Why” shoot I even lied about my why just to keep in close to my chest…I had the right reasons for joining, to continue serving my community-something I grew up doing as a young kid. I dont get what is so legalistic about putting the bible in today’s context if God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow?

As a graduate of and Hbcu the Greek culture gave them a sense of identity that’s why they joined. Most of my friends were deltas and the literally said that were GDI or a regular person for like a year of college and they all sit around talking about how long it took them to actually become “someone” so they all fine identity in it and are “proud”
What “Christian principles” were these organizations founded upon?? Charity, brotherly love, sisterly love, taking care the least of these?? Pagans also participate in these! But, if you do these things in the name of Christ only, God gets the glory. But, in these organizations they produce works in the name of these organizations. They wear paraphernalia while working in the community. They have so much love for these organization that they wear the orgs symbols over their hearts. Look at the Bishop and First Lady in the video. Let’s pray for them. They are deeply in deception. I used to say the same things they are saying. But, I was deceived for years as well.
I too used to say the same things! The time in which I was rebelling and finally renounced was not even six months! And once I renounce God started showing me more and more why I needed to! I still have not gone public.. in terms of making a post. I'm not entirely sure that I need to.

That’s great. It took me 19 years to realize I needed to come out. I haven’t made a video post, but I’ve made a Facebook post. I even made on post on Instagram. The point is that everyone, I mean everybody in my close circle and publicly knows about my renouncement and denouncement. I immediately spoke to my chapter president in Atlanta over the phone and sent the chapter an email. Then I sent an official letter affirming this via email to the national organization in Baltimore. I wanted the whole entire world to know I was no longer in agreement, bound, or in covenant with the enemy Satan. I’m with Jesus the Messiah all the way. Matthew 10:32 "Therefore, the one who confesses and acknowledges Me before men [as Lord and Savior, affirming a state of oneness with Me], that one I will also confess and acknowledge before My Father who is in heaven.”

Hi Mr. And Ms. Steph, I am a young man and leader in my community. I love Acts 17 because paul is talking to people who are ignorant about their idolatry, even calling them religious and telling them that God is not worshiped with men’s hands (good works). So, While I love to serve my community, would you agree that Acts 17 tells us that good works is not the end all be all; as far as religiousness, is it fair to say that the rituals performed by D9 organizations are well, religious? Lastly, don’t you find it fitting that he is speaking to greeks in this chapter?
