Clara's ending is super sad! She's so far the only companion that properly killed off (she died young) since 2005. While some it's clear that Clara got her own Tardis to travel around, Clara's death on trap street is still an established event, Clara still has to die or else, the Universe would collapse.

    • @ExplosiveCookie
      @ExplosiveCookie 7 лет назад +4

Susan's was a huge step forward for not only her but The Doctor's as well - he didn't want her to go but knew staying on Earth with David was absolutely what she needed to mature and become her own person, which ended in the iconic and very emotional speech from Hartnell.
Sara Kingdom being physically shown on screen to age up fast and turn to dust - a quick and out of no where death, with the Doctor having to witness it, which would shock any new watcher definitley.
Jo Grant - while the marriage did come a bit out of nowhere, the result of seeing the Third Doctor completely broken and just depressed was very harsh and the resulting scenes of him driving off into the sunset in Bessie, not a word said nor any score playing was very powerful.
Lucie Miller had a very powerful and brilliant send off which I do not want to discuss here as you need to go and listen to the 8th Doctors audio series' to properly appreciate it, they're so good.
And how can we not mention Adric - I don't think I need to say much here, the silent credits said it all to be honest.
I will grant you that a lot were just out of nowhere and more casual than the big bombastic send offs we've got in recent years, but it's not fair to say none of them had a damn good send off.

Clara was an awesome character with a lot of development throughout the last three seasons. She became my favorite companion in series 8 and what I loved about her the most was her relationship with the twelfth Doctor. I would have only done one thing differently. Right after Clara said that her death was a fix point, I would have cut in Matt Smith's Doctor saying the exact same thing about his death. The similarities are too striking to ignore.

    • @donanthebarbarian5177
      @donanthebarbarian5177 3 года назад +13

Both of them die in their fixed point in shave and time. The trick is they get their the long way round. The Doctor's final incantation will go back and die for the last time inside the robot Smith's doctor used to fake it, and Clara will die in flag street at that point in space and time. They'll just both be at least a few thousand years older and having traveled forwards and backwards through time, possibly running into each other again and again, until their final moments actually happen. The universe needed to see the doctor die then and there as Smith even if he's actually say the curator when he dies the final time them and there. And Clara will eventually return to gallifrey to be reinserted into the timesteam at the moment of her death, but who knows how long it'll be before they go to their final testing places. Hell Clara may be the one to park his TARDIS where it will rest forever.

Cheeky bit at the end there with adding the "I Am the Doctor" theme music. Clara's transformation from apprentice to de-facto Time Lady is complete. I for one loved it, because I predicted all the way back last year that she'd get her own TARDIS and zoom away. So I'm glad it ended that way. +Daziysajalah Yep. And boy am I going to miss her. Though I hope she comes back for Capaldi's farewell episode. All the new series companions have, so far. Also, I didn't realize it until the third time I watched "Hell Bent," but the Doctor's final words to her as his memory was slipping away...he said that because he knew she'd take the TARDIS and have her own adventures. Sigh.... the show is about change, and it'll move on, but there will never be another like Jenna/Clara. She was a divisive companion, but I loved her from the first 5 minutes she was onscreen. Perfect casting, and they took her on an awesome character arc.

I would still love the writers to do a "wrap up" of Clara Oswald's story.
She ended up travelling in the Tardis with Me, (while her heartbeat was still stopped).
The Doctor (Capaldi), saw her name at the University, on the huge Alumni "Teacher's list Plaque" in the main corridor, while he was teaching there.
So she HAD to go on, after she met the Doctor in the CAFE, (where he writes her this sad melody on his guitar, to try to remember her, and what she looked like).
Clara told Me, she was taking the "long way around " before she returned back to Gallifrey to die...again.
Just how "long" that was, was never stated.
So, going with this New set of rules governing Jodie's Doctor.
With Gallifrey destroyed, and past companions popping up everywhere.
If Clara was still "taking the long road" back to Gallifrey , and now it's destroyed, will she continue traveling forever in the Tardis (with or without Me?).
And has her heart started to beat again? (For a number of reasons).
    So many possibilities to explore!
Clara was my favorite, Doctor's Companion. Personally I liked her with Matt Smith the best, but as Capaldi's companion she also was amazing.
I would love to see an episode with Clara, meeting Jodie's Doctor, and wrapping her storyline up.
It would be Amazing to see her continuing in the Tardis (that was Me's, and stolen like the Doctor's was), and every so often, meeting up with the Doctor.
(I must add, that Tom Baker, and Matt Smith's Doctors are my very favorites, I could always see Tom Baker's, Doctor, shining through in Matt Smith's, Doctor. Perhaps Matt did that on purpose, or maybe they are just that much alike in
    personalities.
But they are BOTH, my favorite Doctor!
(And Clara Oswald, my favorite companion !!).
    😁👍🥰p

For me, Jenna Coleman is the living embodiment of too good to be true. She's probably the most versatile actress in her generation, able to convey more with her eyes, even through contact lenses as shown in Victoria, than most actresses can with their entire faces. On top of that, she seems to be a lovely woman in real life. The problem is that I find Jenna intimidating because I'm always looking for a crack in the facade, constantly waiting for the pedestal to crumble. I feel like Matt Smith's Doctor in the early stages of his relationship with Clara because part of my brain keeps thinking something along the lines of "Jenna's too fucking perfect. There has to be SOMETHING wrong with her. She can't be a wonderful actress and a wonderful person at the same time, can she?"
I learned that Jenna likes to keep trinkets from stuff she's worked on. This makes me wonder if she might be a kleptomaniac but 1) I'm aware that I'm probably projecting that onto her just because I'm looking for flaws and 2) even if she is a kleptomaniac, that just makes me like her more.

I wonder if people truly understand that The Doctor never truly killed his people... He simply removed them from time and space and trapped them in a single moment.

The Ponds will always be my favorite companions but Clara Oswin Oswald will always be my favorite character beside the doctor! When she entered the show as companion I wished they‘d used the Victoria Clara, she was witty, brave, curious, flirty, strong and confident, modern Clara was missing all of this but confidence but she developed into a character I would love to have as real friend. And her story is not finished yet. She and Me are the hybrid who will stand in the ruins of Gallifrey and she might get an happy ending

...........Thank you for reminding me how painful Clara's death was... :'( But don't worry. I'm not mad. You did a fantastic job. (see what I did there?) The story of Echo Oswin, Echo Victoria and Clara Oswald represented here in the funny moments, dark moments, bittersweet moments, sad moments and epic moments was incredibly well-done. :D I really enjoyed it. :) Well, it's been one heck of a ride, I'll tell you that! And I haven't regretted any moment of it... :') And while I can kind of understand why some people don't like Clara, as she WAS bossy, demanding, controlling and pushy, for me that never made me hate her. :) If you DO hate her, that's fine. It's your opinion. But imho, she was an amazing, well-crafted, well-developed, well-acted, brilliant, cool and fantastic woman... And when the new companion comes along, whether she be an old face like Shona or Osgood, or a new one, it'll take some time getting used to her as she has BIG shoes to fill! And with this long comment coming to an end, I just have this to say: Run you clever girl... And remember us. :')

It never made me hate her either, it only made her character even more intriguing to me because you can't have a good character without flaws.
People complained that she was apparently "too perfect" in series 7, but then when the writers developed more on her flaws in series 8 there were still complaints? It's like people didn't know what they wanted. Clara was flawed in series 7, but that was only her first season so they were just kind of introducing us to her.. then during series 8, her second season, we saw her character be explored in a lot more depth. In all her seasons she was written well and was a 3 dimensional character, but as each season went on, her character was explored in more detail. Maybe that's why most people see her as bland in season 7. But when you're making a new friend, you don't know everything about them straight away, do you? You get to know them gradually, until eventually you've created some history between yourselves. It makes sense to introduce characters with the way clara was introduced. For them to be built on gradually, for us to see their character come together piece by piece.

Call it a Mandela Effect, but I could swear that Jack Harkness once spoke about having visited an American Diner in space? I think we'll see "Clara and Me" (NOT Marley and Me, bad joke I know...) again in the future with Jack for a bit of a TARDIS X DINER cross-over crisis, maybe with Doctor #14 and a fully revived Donna Noble? A bad boy in blue can dream a little, can't he? (But not too much, god knows we haven't seen the last of The Dream Lord either!)

It's when a large group of people remember something a certain way, but when you look back at the evidnce/source it's actually different. Popular example: "Luke, I'm your father." Darth Vader never said that. He said "No, I'm your father." But everyone quotes it as "Luke".

InfamousSamurai - Roblox! Some idiots think that it's caused by changing what dimension you're in(which is incredibly stupid), but actually people are just more alike than they think and a ton of people just remember something wrong in the same way.

Personally, Clara is my favorite character on a adventure standpoint. With the other companions, I didn't feel like they wanted to be there some of the times but with Clara I knew she was having fun running around with The Doctor. On a more emotional level Rose is my favorite obviously because they fall in love. Amy falls below them but I still enjoyed her as it was something new because it was the first time there was 2 constant companions than the usual one.

  • @Exaris79

Clara was ripped out of time in the last moment. The same happened with Captain Jack Harkness but was saved by Rose Tyler who was superpowered by looking into the Tardis' core time vortex. If Rose can turn Jack to be immortal, the same can be said with Clara's dying being nullified by the time vortex as she's unstuck in time just like Jack. Also that last moment before she died, a quantum duplicate can be created and replaced in her position. That duplicate can be manifested into life just like Arya was given a piece of the Doctor to become the Hybrid. The original Clara still dies but a duplicate of her that had an essence of the Doctor can exist after the Raven had already killed Clara. Just like the Testimony project, instead of a glass simulagent, an altered temporal/quantum copy with her memories exists. So the timeline is still preserved just that there's another copy of Clara is running away from Gallifrey.

Clara had such a strong mind and will that she refused to be a DALEK. She was totally committed to the idea that she was making souffles every day. The Doctor had to convince her that she was a DALEK. Even then she showed mercy on him and allowed him to go. I wish The Doctor hadn't hated her so much when he told her.

Hell Bent gave me an incredible emotional experience that I still cherish to this day. It was one of those once in a lifetime experiences. I recently rewatched the scene where Clara erased the Doctor's memory and it still made me cry but nothing will ever match my raw, unfiltered reaction after watching that episode for the first time. I was both heartbroken and elated and it was such a confusing but incredible blend of different emotions that I just broke down. I was tempted to interrupt my mother's 50th birthday party but didn't want everybody to see me in such a state. Because of that, Hell Bent will always have a special place in my heart.
