Heads up the plant cut off at about 5:30 is actually an aloe. Aloe Aristata I think. The way to tell is aloe have teeth/spikes that go mainly along the edges of the leaf, haworthia have ridges that go all or part of the way around the leaf but aren't spiky.
Great video. I love Hawarthia' s. There are so many different varieties to choose from and they are one of the easier succulents to grow for sure! Thanks for sharing!
14:10 if it is anything like Burro Tail, you can just sit the piece on the windowseal so the Sun hits it all day, and it eventually it will put roots out if it's gonna survive. It's worth a try. It's not even like you have to do anything until it puts out roots, except look at it from time to time. It will survive clear until the time that it completely dries up

Thank you for sharing!! I've actually propagated the same Aloe Haworthia you popped off a year ago through actual leaf cuttings, not pups, to see if they would root and they did!! It's kind of like rooting snake plant leaves!! I have a few new plants from them and now those plants are having babies!!
A year later.. still no update? I'd really like to see how those cuttings did as well😁 my howorthia is over 8" tall and I've been afraid to cut it down.
I propagated the window one by suspending it over a glass of water but not in it using saran wrap on the glass then poke a hole in the saran and stick a single leaf segment in the hole but don't let it touch the water at all. it will take a bit of time but it will root eventually. I then planted it and was sure not to overwater it. during the next growth spurt, it will send out pups and take off.
I brought a spilled cooperii and because I had No Idea about succulents I thought that it would need die if I didn’t soak it to rehydrate it. The roots all went really soggy and no matter what I did, the bare stem rotted. I removed leaves and put it back in soil. This happened until I had 28 leaves but no plant. I just left them in a dry saucer in my utility and forgot about them in disgust. Next time I happened to look babies appeared at the base of EVERY leaf! So if you’re patient…you can have lots and lots and lots of babies!
I just bought a howarthia windowsill with a ton a babies totally neglected at the local Lowe's I'm going to try to propogate babies . How long should they dry before I put in dirt ?normally I have a potting soil mixed w perlite mix for all my succulents
My zebra is blooming. I know it’s not perfect, but I didn’t think that would happen. I don’t use the best soil, of have the best conditions. But there it is
Awesome! Thank you! I so wish you would have shown how to trim those dry looking zebra plants, with all the brown dry leaves in the pot that you showed at the opening. I have a dying one I’m trying to save- but it’s even worse than your dry ones.
you can actually propagate zebra using those leaves that you removed .. just make sure the wound is healed before sticking it in a moist soil mix. then just wait till it will root. those window Haworthia can be propagated also through leaves . just try it :) based on experience
Ive seen aloe videos doing this with enough stem. My mom bought a haworthia and i see plucking leaves takes a lot of the stem like the aloe video so im going to do it. I dont have patience for saran over water but will carefully put in succulent soil and wait to water like the rest..unless i find other info before then 😆 win some lose some but always worth a trial. I’m pretty sure that what you’re referring to as a Haworthia is actually a Gasteria Royal Wolfgang.. I have several of these that are pupping. If you had just loosened them from the soil I’m certain you could have used a razor blade to remove them in a much easier method with roots they had already grown.

We even some have wild prickly pear cactus in open fields. You should plan on making the move sometime.

It's easier using dental floss wrap it around what you want to cut and pull both ends the floss slices clean thru
Dental floss works better for more compact plants those scissors work nice too
I’ve tried dental floss with Echeveria Purpusorum and got about 5 pups growing from the center. So cool 🌿
Poor babies, I cringed everytime you cut them lol!! Your babies are GORGEOUS btw!! Can you do this with most succulents?💖🥰
Fishing line is even better
