The way of this guy talking about samsung folding display and its hinge mechanism , is so simple and easy...seems like a 5 years old school boy can make hundreds of foldable display per day..... . You have to appreciate the Engineering...... . edit- why this lady is so cute...❤❤❤
We have the Z Flip for testing at work and you can see where the crease is while the phone is open when the light shines on it. You can also feel where the hinge is while swiping. Its not horrible and interesting tech but I wouldn't use this as my personal device. It needs a few revisions and improved durability in the design.
I think that the brushes in the z flip are not there to keep dust out of the phone, but they help get dust and other partikels out of the mechanisem. But still a great video;)
I think these two foldable smartphones has many points to get better, their tecnology are soo recent. I hope that this tecnology get's more cheaper with better resistence and construction in a few years.
I give Motorola credit, its not bad for a first try, since this is going against Samsung second. And bear in mind that the razor was being developed pretty much at the same time as the fold. Look forward to a 2nd gen. Also I don't give you guys any stick for the tests, it's obvious you were testing it to the EXTREME! anyway keep up the good work. I'll probably be fixing one of these bad boys soon.
@@iFixitYourself anytime guys, I've learnt alot from you. And can now take stuff apart without having to lookup a guide, unless it's a bit tricky. Always a great watch/read. Take care.
How old were these two presenters when the original Razer was introduced? What do they think of it? Not criticizing their age or their work. Just curious who they believe the new Razr is meant for.
Nice to see a more in depth comparison of these, especially with how different they really are And while the hinge of the Samsung does look really cool (it’s a shame most people will never see it) I actually think Moto’s approach is actually a bit better as it doesn’t require such a crease The retro look of the Moto is pretty cool too, and yeah I can definitely understand the hardships the engineers faced while trying to keep that retro look Either way I’m sure both are fine, just not looking for a delicate screen phone for me so glass sandwiches for me for a while Plus I still have my really old flip phones from years ago (oldest being my first, an Audiovox CDM-8900)...and all but one still work too! lol ...not really sure why I keep them but it’s fun to look back at lol Anyways, take care!
Cumulus Humilis I’m not saying which is more robust. I feel the Samsung hinge is a bit more durable than the Razr hinge but neither design is all too durable at the moment. Both need to be handled with care to have any hope on lasting a year or two in real world applications Have to keep in mind that both of these hinge designs are first gen versions, and that both will get better and stronger with time. I’m just saying that I feel the Razr hinge design has more potential and is a better and more thought overall design as it gives the screen room to fold without needing a crease across the screen. If they build the next gen Razr hinge out of stronger materials it will be be just as durable if not more so than Samsung’s current hinge design. Samsung’s hinge will still look cooler, but sometimes a simple design is better than one with many intricate moving parts
Team Galaxy Z Flip 😊It's clear that the Z flip is the better phone. I love mine and even made an unboxing and review about it. Check it out on my channel 😊
Ooh pls shut who said the brush dosen't work at all. Do you know how complex it is to put all those together? With you wacky testing. The hinge mechanism on the fold destroys the razor's period. Give props and stop talking trash
I love Taylor's voice, its relaxing
We like it, too :)
Weirdo
Love you guys at Ifixit! So interesting to see things from the inside

You guys have such on camera chemistry and you bounce off each other well! It’s also amazing to see how much stuff gets left on the cutting room floor
Moto Razr is also designed like an old Razr from the inside... cool
Made for an interesting teardown, for sure!
I'd be nice to see Kay-Kay more often.
Nice video.
Love the old Simpson meter on the shelf in the background!

Anyway I Love Your Channel very much.
How are the 2 rubber feet on the bottom held in?
I'd like to see that dust test with regular phones, especially ones that tout IP ratings
Any plan for the Huawei mate xs?
Powder is not a dust.
Do the dust test with the Razr plz
Nice!
Thanks!

Girl, are those six shooters or pistols you're brandishing at the start of the video ? ;-)
Yeah, people will definitely that fine powder in their pockets what will destroy the phone.
Who would dive their galaxy z flip into dust like that, that is why it didn't work, they should keep the test in the realistics way.
