LOL! I just watched my son’s Doberman but I’ve know her since she was a puppy, so she loves me and I love her. She’s a well trained Doberman. I did have one issue with the “come” command, so I stopped, called her name, she looked at me, and then the “come” command and she came back to me, sat down, looked at me. I praised her and off we went to the house. She knew what she was supposed to do. Onto the couch I went and had her jump up on the couch and she put half of her body across my lap, so I rubbed her ears and neck, as I watched basketball. She almost fell asleep. 👍🏻 It was a fun time for both of us! Another great video. Thank you. Love those Dobermans!

Great video! Honestly my husband and I have never felt comfortable with anyone other than ourselves caring for our dobies. They are so much smarter than most of the people we know that we've never thought it was really fair to either and likely to not go well. We'd come home and find the dogs had totally taken control. 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Great video - one thing we add to our “List” is a letter giving permission to our sitter to authorize medical care. It has only happened once in 40 years but our dog needed immediate care and that note made it possible since we were available by email but not phone and the issue was time critical and it was expensive.

Love you and this channel. I haven't watched it as much, because my Doby will be an amazing 13, in October.
So I keep thinking, he's going to die and couldn't watch anymore.
He's still pretty strong and I'm going to spend the rest of his time, enjoying him, instead of being scared.
Someone from your channel reached out to me and was so nice as I asked if when he does pass, if you could do a memorandum for him.
There is no way I could leave him with anyone. I can't go to the store without him.
We moved into a 55+ retirement community and I was fortunate, I could have him here. But apartment living for a Doby, is not ideal, luckily his energy isn't what it used to be, but we lived in the country.
Kaiser defended the little Maltese we had, from anything on our ranch. He had acres to run, so the last 3 years of his life here in an apartment has been tough.
He has adjusted to the other dogs here which is amazing if you think about it and is leash trained at 9 years old!
Just the most amazing breed and people who don't have them, will never know what they are missing out on.
He got me through a divorce and having to sell my ranch.
    Doberman's? Are heroes. Simple

    Hi John.
    Great video, as always.
Let me add another topic since it almost ruined this week's vacation plans. We have two Dobermans, a male of four years and a female of one year and three months. We had them with sitters together in the past, and everything worked out fine. This time, we had to separate them. The girl had extreme separation anxieties and probably barked and cried more in one night than in her entire life. Friends were able to pick her up, and she stayed with a familiar dog… which ended up working out. I don’t believe there is anything to blame on the sitter, but extreme anxieties are something to consider with our Dobies…

We tried leaving extra water and kibble out while we were away for 48 hours, without having found a dog sitter. When we came home after leaving "Camelia" (8 year old female Doberman) home alone in the backyard for two days, she was ill (vomiting and diarrhea). Took a month to recover. Not sure what went wrong, but may have been a change in diet before leaving (was fed some leftover people food).

    • @amirhamza122
      @amirhamza122 5 месяцев назад +1

I hope you’re joking. That’s extremely irresponsible. Leaving your dog home alone for 2 days is abuse. Dogs don’t have rules like humans. Chances are your dog ate all the food and drunk all the water within an hour. Then got curious and ate whatever else it could find..not to mention dehydrated too. Again, I really hope you’re joking.

Hi John! 🙋🏻‍♂️ My family did our best to take our Dobie with us on travel and vacation, but when we couldn't, we had my best friend take care of our Dobie after we familiarized him with our girl. I took his hand down under her nose to smell him. I made sure to hug my best friend IN FRONT OF my Dobie so that she saw he's a benevolent human. I had him perform familiar routines, like feeding, so she knew that he was a friendly for her when they were alone together. Dave never had a problem with our Dobie.

That's sad to hear. Most Dobermans are taken to the shelter during this time...this video explains why: ruclips.net/video/oZqGfdAIJDY/видео.htmlsi=njjRxgJvPj5yjR9R but, it is a short-lived period that owners have to push through. You do have to do research before getting them to know they do require about 2 hours of exercise a day, which makes sense since they're a working breed. Doesn't sound like one was the right fit for you, though. They're certainly not for everyone!
