    Really love that y'all are working to create unbiased reviews! I think it would be cool to have a little segment though with 'Briones Thoughts' not sure it's needed for every video/every paddle, but it could be cool cuz I definitely enjoy hearing the experience of different people and hearing where the Jordan's agree/disagree on the paddle and their preferences would be awesome.

    In a recent video you said the Six Zero Ruby was your favorite paddle. How does this compare? I have a DBD and love it. Ruby is arriving soon. Wondering if it's worth having a GB in the quiver-and if so, whether the Power or Control version would be better (given that I love how the DBD plays).

    • @BrionesPickleball
      @BrionesPickleball  8 месяцев назад

      The power is literally all power. It’s great to have in the bag when you want to power through people and win fast hands battles.
      The control is closer to the DBD. But again the feel of these gearbox’s are like no other. You’d have to hit one to know what I mean.

    I can't agree with the sweet spot claimed here. John Kew's twist weight measurements show 5.14 and 5.22 for the pro power elongated - which is low. Add these tight sweet spots to the high swing weights - and these are not for beginners or certain rec players. If you can hit the sweet spot consistently and afford the price - by all means. The only gearbox John has in his database with a twist weight over 6 is the G2 Quad. The average twist weight is 6.2 and the quad squeaks out a 6.23.

    Been playing with the gearbox PPE for about a week since I finally received my shipment and I personally feel the sweet spot is extremely small and the paddle lacks power that was promised.
    For reference, I play with the Black Ace and I'm a 4.0 player. I've been watching Chris Haworth play and he plays with the PCE and generates crazy spin and power, I'm curious if it's a player issue or if it's a paddle issue. I've been tweaking around with lead tape as well, but maybe the paddle hasn't been broken in yet? Any feedback would be appreciated

      I struggled with the same decision. I've been playing with a 6.0 Double Black Diamond and appreciated its shape and short-ish length. I am confident with the short and touch game. Very much so compared to an elongated shape. And I had primarily come from that shape. At this point, for my game, I like what the DBD offers compared to my play style. So with that i chose the fusion shape. Arriving today!

    Please stop repeating the inaccurate statement that there's no polymer in the paddle. There has always been an expanding polymer in the gearbox SST core.

      It’s doesn’t have honeycomb like regular paddles, and the tech is complete different. Not sure what you mean.

      @BrionesPickleball it has a polymer core, it just isn't a honeycomb. They inject expanding polymer between the SST ribs. Polymer = plastic. So it is straightforwardly wrong to say there's no plastic in it.
