A little silicone paste makes it easy to slide the priming hose slide onto the barb, and won't degrade the hose. FYI, as petroleum based grease will degrade rubber and some plastics.

Can one install the "Finishing Kit" on a Magnum X5?

I was trying to figure out the same thing. You probably can. Instead of threading the suction pipe from the hopper into the pump, just use a small section of the suction hose from the X5 to slide over the metal pipe that comes out of the hopper and clamp down onto that. I have not tried it but I don't see why that wouldn't work. The X5 uses a barb instead of threads to connect the suction hose.

Why bother? The kit cost as much as the X5….No offense but that’s a homeowner grade disposable machine.

It doesn't take 1 or 2 gallons to get paint through the line to the gun on a 50 ft hose. That's grossly over stated. It's only about 1/4 th of a gallon.

It’s about half a gallon. Don’t forget once that gallon gets to the bottom and below the siphon filter
