The Waverley is still a working paddle steamer that does tours up the Clyde. It's out of season just now xx

Folklore has it at the battle of Largs, the vikings landed and were in bare feet to be quite. They stood on thistles and their fries alerted the Scottish Army and the battle began
The king then declared the thistle as the national flower of Scotland...another great vlog as usual.

The person was pulled from water but was taken to hospital as a precaution if this was on the Wednesday 7th feb but was fine according to news reports x

We are down in Largs every summer, great place. It is packed! We get the ferry to Millport too, wee place, wee treasure. Again, another great vlog of somewhere on my doorstep x

We had a German Shepherd cross that used to reverse his back end into bushe's tree's..and poop as far up as he could!!.. He was adorable and crazy lol ..Miss him dearly. Another banger of a video guy's...much love to you and Cheeko

Great to see yous in Largs . Pity weather stopped you from going to Millport ! You should def do an island hop Millport during the summer has quite a few events happening so you should check them out for dates but does get busy on ferry but they have 2 in summer months 1 every 15 mins .

I've cycled round the island numerous times as a kid and an adult. We used to cycle round and then get ice cream in Milport before coming back over to the mainland. You brought some memories back for me :)

Hi love your videos it was good to see Largs and have a walk around with you, a few years ago in August we drove through Largs on way back to a campsite it was evening time we smelt the fish and chips and decided to stop and get some parked the van got out and were attacked by midges had to get straight back in and leave, never got our fish suppers 😢😢

A fee is charged the merchant in order for them to offer the option of using a credit card and many Chinese won’t pay that fee. Thus cash only.
We go to Largs a lot
Aileen does the Viking Festival every year ….runs for 8 days …fun fairs,market stalls and a Viking village .
On the 2nd Saturday of it there is a procession and the burning of a Viking boat ..plus fireworks
The bit you parked at the marina is as you say rammed in summer …there’s a cmc cl in the marina but it’s £37.50 a night for basically a part of car park
we can imagine it being busy bob but sounds fun ❤❤

The paddle steamer (the waverley) still runs every summer, its a great dayout! You could have parked at the boating pond at irvine beach park. it's more sheltered. You sould definitely do some island hoping, there beautiful.

The town next to mine, Andernos les Bains is twinned with Largs and there's an association that organise exchanges, sometimes folks from Largs come here and vica versa. Obviously they love it here on the Arcachon Basin it's much warmer 😊

Hi Lisa and Mark, i live in Millport and wish you had jumped on the ferry and popped over. Our fish and chip shop only opens on a Friday and Saturday and our Chinese is closed until the weekend so Mark would have been disapointed but there's plenty to do and see. Love your videos so keep 'em coming and glad that the awful wind has died down and you had sunny weather.😊

@@NorthernersonTour If I know when you're coming over I'll treat you both to some fish and chips or a Chinese. Our wee island is only ten and a quarter miles round but there's plenty to do and see, especially in the summer months and the fish and chip shop and Chinese will be open most days. We are in the Guiness book of records twice...we have the smallest Cathedral in Britain and we also have the narrowest house in Britain. Hope you managed to get a new battery ok in Kilmarnock, Mark. Cold weather knocks smoke out of a battery, people always find their battery is duff when the temperature drops really low, you just have to change it, which you have done

Glad you did not use the incident with the S&R as click bait. plenty of kiddie tube would do, We where at LLanfaireckin as I spell it, last autumn there was car /water suicide and the back story was really sad. As Mark says it could be training as they will use a lot of resources for effect.

I was surprised to see the Waverley. Last time I saw it was in Ilfracombe about 15 years ago. They used to have a"victorian weekend" where everone got dressed up in victorian clothes and there was a steam fair and lots of good stuff. The Waverly would take folk out of the harbour and then bring them back. Lots of fun! I love how you always get great bargains in Charity shops AND support them at the same time. Good on you for doing that.. Laughed at Chico when you were showing your bag. He deffo wanted some of those rice crispy squares lol. He's such a brill character just as Woody used to be♥ You just cant help falling for his fab furby face. He just never fails to make me smile- specially when he decorated the trees with pooper dooper. Way to go Chico! Anyhoo, brilliant video as ever with lots of scenery and local info. Anywhere is more scenic than Wigan,Sandra lol. Wigan likes to brag it has lots of scenic places but technically they aren't in Wigan but are in Wigan Metro and they just like to claim credit😉 Mind you.... Bolton is deffo going down the tubes. I much prefer Atherton where I live now cos you can go to Athy town centre and pick from any of 45 barbers, 300 nail bars, 14 million tatto parlors and three kibab shops. Its a truly epic shopping experience🤣🤣🤣
Largs is a nice wee place. Millport is also great place to visit.

It’s the Isle of Cumbrae - full circle 12miles the island. Great place to visit in season. Walk or cycle round ….couple of hours bike ride. @Mark your motor home will fit on the ferry 😂
