How else do you want to start it? The handle is ontop of the saw, so you can´t get your foot in and you can´t jam it between your legs. By the way I do it always like this because I can´t get my shoes in the sawhandle because of my shoesize (48 or 14). Drop start in my opinion is only dangerous when the rubber on the front handle is loose, there is no saw bar mounted so that there is no counterweight or you start a saw you don´t know... The little 08 has only 50...60 cubic, so it ist pretty easy to start. It´s my favorite saw just because of its silly handle, the sound and the .404 chain, the MS260 with the same power is cutting much slower than that old beast.... regards from Germany to USA???

Good video, I have 2 08's and I start them the same way. People say they are a dangerous saw? My favourite saw and very easy to use.

Die läuft schon richtig die 08s macht halt nicht mehr Umdrehungen die Kette ist halt etwas stumpf
