Great review from a great car. Tiguan has the looks but its engine is a typical grumbling diesel yet Tuscon is so silent as if its a petrol car. Also the boot space would have been bigger had Hyundai offered a space saver tyre, my take there. White does it for in this car, I like colours that don't seem shy or apologetic to public eye.

For R800K i would get a Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max or Haval H6 Hybrid black addition and still have some change. If i were to stick to the budget of R800k, well a pre-loved BMW X3 wouldn't hurt
Tuscon is AWD like Tiguan but X1 is just a FWD 2.0d detuned engine from a 220d gran coupe yet expensive maybe BMW is cautious of frequent wheelspins when driving off from standstill. .
For 850K i would push my luck with a preowned or demo X3, for a brand new I would go for a Sportage GT it looks way better and the interior is more attractive
I drove the Hyundai you have to set the sound according to what you want the sound to be. when you receive the car the sound its bad i did not like it up until I set to what I want
I think we as Africans are short changed coz in other continents Hyundai and Kia get Bose and Harman Kardon music systems, Even Mazda CX-60 we Africans get it only with a 2.5 natural aspirated engines while again in other continents get a 3.3 engines.
The car in the exterior looks amazing, even the seats the only thing I do not like is the infotainment screen, which is smaller than the instrument cluster, the infotainment screen looks like an after thought, they didn't put any effort in the ergonomics of placing and and making it blend in with the interior, it looks like this pioneer aftermarket touch screen radios with apple carplay and Android auto. They didn't intergrate it like they do in the Sportage, or the BMW X1, the curved display of the iDrive 8, it's makes you want to go through the menus and spend hours in the car customising it to match your personality That's where it failed dismally

Yeah the Tucson was a Tucson before the iX35 then it went back to Tucson.
You will buy this qnd know that it will for many years.

Tucson is definitely for a slightly older population, very mature. The sound system being terrible wouldn’t even matter to them 😅

The Mazda CX-60 3.3 engine is coming to S.A in the 1st quarter of 2024.
