    Listen, I am not here for the US vs UK arguing. I am here to show love where it is due. The UK from the standpoint of music, acting, and art right now are on another level. I might be late to this but after watching Top Boy I have been doing my research on guys like Dave, Mansur Brown, Alfa Mist, Yussef Dayes, etc. Listen Wah-gwaan to all our Brothers in the UK and world wide. Lets show unity know matter where we live. We all come from the same tree. Africa.

      i am from the US but let me tell you, the UK will win they are more lyrical the US rapper all across the board, reason being see most US rapper just influence by rap, but the UK rapper now they have crazy influence from the different genre like Africa music, dancehall, grime, hip hop and all that, so all round they mostly versatile, if you don't overstand the accent you might not get it ..but i think by now everybody pretty much get it .. i mean its English Jesus christ its not rocket science, that sorta tell me that ppl in the US is kinda slow bro .. no like facts! I am in the US and i understand all of what they are saying the there rap, yeah one-two English slang throw you off but you still get 98% of what they are saying

    • @theinfamouspokeinrichmondc3543
      @theinfamouspokeinrichmondc3543 4 года назад +6

      Bro I 100% agree with you. I get HELLA frustrated when I am trying to explain how dope UK artist are to my peeps and their only come back is they can't understand them due to their accent. I'm like HOW? We have hella different accents in the US. I am from the Bay Area and we in Richmond talk different from our peeps in Oakland who are 11 miles away. Boston has an accent. Virginia, New Orleans, etc. I just don't get it. Also I agree with you on bars and the overall musical influences they have over in the UK that makes them versatile. For example, I got turned onto to Burna Boy after listening to Dave's Location. Now I can't stop playing African Giant album. I think Burna Boy might be one of the next biggest international music superstars next. He is an incredible talent with a strong message. So I am here for it. I love Dave, Skepta, JME, Kano, Stormzy, etc. Keep doing yalll thang our UK Bros and Sis. Its ALOT of us here in the US that got nothing but love and respect for yall. Also can't wait for Top Boy season 4

      @@ineverswag I said the last few years bruv... it's a good list, but all of those artist you've named have been in the game for a good while. Solange is ancient and took 10 plus years to finally drop a solid project, Kendrick is a vet now, Frank is... idk lol, Buddy is a journeyman, Sweatshirt is still underground, Tyler is on his 5th album, Paak has been around for a minute too. Also almost everyone you've named are R&B artist. Ella Mai is British and had the hugest hit over here with Boo'd Up and Trippin' and she just won a grammy for R&B. Im not knocking it, but I was moreso referring to Hip Hop. I'm not knocking what we have over here, but the majority of the projects that have been released by UK artist have been better in my personal opinion from a quality perspective (SKEPTA, Octavian, Not3s, Fredo, Wretch 32, Chip, AJ Tracy, JME, Stormzy, Headie One, Dave, etc etc).

He is just rly smart and wants to bring the message across the best way possible u know what i mean? and i think he dealt with depression or maybe he is still dealing in some sort of way and thats why maybe he talks like that. But i think his mind is very powerful and its not for ordinary people to understand. I think he is a genius

      No it's not man, he is very lackluster dry in this interview. I rate this yute big time. From his song black to seeing him in Top Boy "I DON'T CARE" Modie voice. But if this was the first time seeing him, I wouldn't go check for his music. But no one is perfect maybe he's having a bad day And it's not about being American or British. Brits, are just very protective of their own. Which is ok. But bruh this has nothing to do with American vs British man smh.

The best thing we could all do is just support the young man and let him eat, what's with the hate? I bet yall that the ones who are talking so much wouldn't even survive in the streets that he is from nor say such shit to his face, being behind the phone is a lot of people's safe place to act and behave how they want to. Just to say that the grime scene has been going for at least 20 years and thanks to to Dave's tours (who is my most highly rated artist) its finally spreading across the pond as well as the world. BUT if you are new to the grime scene, you have to do your research into the countless OG'S (Bizzle, Kano, Wiley, Skepta, Jme, Devlin, P Money- list goes on)from the beginning as well as the new talent rapidly coming through the grime scene. For a while now, the UK has been in it's own bubble (more so over the recent years with the grime scene emerging into the charts, such as 'Boy in the corner' being one of the first Albums to do so in 2003), with it's music is 90% of the time UK Grime/ rap/ drill with the 10% being either American or trending international tracks and honestly its insane to see the immense countless UK rap talent flowing through, from SlowThai, Loyal Carner, Izzie Gibbs- Dave, AJ, Giggs, Jhus, Ghetts, Bugzy Malone, Avenlio Digga D, Aitch, Stormzy, Fredo etc- theres literally too many to name who are doing bits, especially this year 2019, with the amount of alblums released this year has been insane. Almost week there seems to be theres an absolute banger released, which everyone just vibes too. Words cannot explain how happy the youth are for the music being made in this country. Looks as though our best kept secret is finally spreading...
