Very informative and to the point review. You talk fast, but it's just the right amount of fast, rapidly dishing out info while not wasting people's time. Man if I was from over there I'd come and buy it at your store. Quality content. Bravo.
I have had mine for less than 2 weeks & it is amazing. Nothing is messed up & blurry I have very clear pictures of the Sun, Moon, Stars & Plasma like bubble wrap. Sun simulator, cloud makers, triangle ships that hide in the chem trails.
I owned the P900 for years and it was great but I had many instances where I wanted more. I now own the P1000 and unlike so many here, I like mine. The 4k video is great. The zoom is also great but you have to be smart about it. Trying to use it at full zoom when hand held is stupid. You simply have to use a tripod to get good pics at full zoom. Also when I say tripod, the $20 ones from best buy don't count. Get a good sturdy tripod and you will get the maximum out of this camera. Oh and one more thing... the part I am disappointed about is low light. Nikon should have really upped it to a larger sensor to do a better job in low light. As it is, I am forced to bump up the iso in low light and of course it adds grain. The best compromise I have found is 400iso and shutter speed of 250th. Then the pics are still reasonable quality. A good tripod is of course a must when doing that at full zoom. I like my man froto but there are many good tripods out there. Just plan to spend a couple hundred minimum for a good tripod if you are buying the P1000

Panthera, you will love the P900. I got several good ufos with mine and lots and lots of video footage of the moon that was interesting. Also great camera for wildlife photography. The P1000 does have a lot more zoom and the 4k video which are both nice but it really does require a heavy duty tripod for sharp pictures. I use a man froto on mine and it really tames the vibration. Both P900 and P1000 are great cameras.
As you know, UFO photos are ALWAYS blurry to the point of not being able to tell what they are because they are all fake. This camera was designed to never take a clear picture so it fits right in. I've sent two back and will not try a third.

Thank you very much for this review!! I've been drooling over this camera since it was announced back in 2018. My naive hope it's that one day the price will drop to a reacheable level... but it's not likely to happen. Greetings from Chile!!
@@scott__lange Hello Mister Scott Lange!! I think it all comes down to a matter of perspective and socio economic context... At the time I'm writing this, the camera's retail price has actually risen. The new price it's 1.049.990 pesos. That's 3.1 minimun wages (Chile's minimun wage = 337.000 pesos). In Chile the minimun wage it's defined by the minimun amount of money required by one family to cover all the expenses of one month. The Sony a7R4 has a 61 megapixel full frame sensor. The P1000 has 16 megapixels. As far as I can see, you can crop an image taken with Sony's a7R4 to a quarter of the original image and then obtain the same resolution as with the P1000 = 16 megapixels, which in that case would mean that a correct comparison between an image taken with the P1000 and 3000mm and sony with 2X teleconverter and 600mm = 1200mm corresponds to an image of 4 x 1200= 4800mm if you use Sony and crop to the same 16 megapixel resolution. Am I right or wrong? On the other hand, if the largest aperture that the P1000 has in the 3000mm = 8 mode, Sony's zoom 200-600mm with teleconverter cannot measure up to this, since the Sony zoom is at aperture 6.3 at 600mm and with the 2x converter loses a step to aperture 11 ? I think it will be. How do other properties such as dynamic range and other important features of the P1000's tiny sensor compare to Sony's full frame, even if you only use a quarter of it when you crop the image ???
@digiDirect you didnt mention how much motor/gear noise is prevalent when using video? How much does this intrude on the video? Will an ext.mike eliminate this?

Hi Larry. I wouldn't consider this a great option for that purpose. For star shooting you typically actually want a wide lens, not a super telephoto one, because you want to capture some of the landscape for context as well as a large swath of the sky. Also the sensor on this camera is pretty small, which is not great for capturing low light subjects like stars. You'll probably want a larger sensor camera with a wide angle to capture that better.
