Tammy Rivera Talks New Album, Being Inspired by Mariah Carey & Others

- During a recent sit-down with EBONY, Marriage Bootcamp star Tammy Rivera discussed new music coming soon and showed love to the women who influenced her style.
After revealing that latest single, “Sex With You,” was inspired by hubby Waka Flocka, the Baltimore native shares her biggest musical inspirations, including Mariah Carey, Brandy and Mary J. Blige.
“Any old school R&B that feels good, that sounds good…I was born in 1986, and our era of music was just lit!”
Waka is the first to co-sign his lady’s talent, calling her upcoming album, dropping this summer, “fire.”
“Her album is crazy. It’s good enough to make me say that I can retire. It’s that fire.”

Go 'head, Miss Tammy Rivera. You look so pretty, Sis. You can sing a little bit. I'll always love Mariah Carey, but her live singing is pretty bad. I had no idea until RUclips came along. She's actually the very first artist I checked on. Boy, was I in for a surprise. She's perfect on record though. My favorite will always be _Vision of Love._ It's kinda mandatory for women our age to love Mary J., Brandy & Monica. LMAO at 1:23. That slight Keyshia _Cold_ shade. Keyshia's second album is great. The rest of her music is hit or miss. And vocally, she hasn't gotten any better over the years. She has a flat tone of voice and she suffers from bad breath control - a singer's worst nightmare. Her live singing is pretty bad. Miss Whitney Houston is the *singer's singer.* She changed the game on how women should sing. Very influential. Love & miss her, dearly. I love Missy Elliot too. It's interesting because I've always favored male vocalists over female vocalists. I have high standards when it comes to singing so I like brothas like: Mr. Stevie Wonder, Mr. Eric Benét, Mint Condition's Stokley, Mr. Daryl Coley, Mr. Smokie Norful, Mr. Charlie Wilson and obviously so many more. Basically, anybody who can sang flat down. Now, on the female side, I'm loving Miss Kelly Price. Her live singing is excellent. She's never made any excuses.
