The Lab LDN is Mixmag and Coors Light's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous office party.
This Thursday Groove Odyssey is taking over The Lab LDN and bringing Terry Hunter in tow to lay down an hour of Chi-town sounds.
Since its formation in 2005 Groove Odyssey’s label arm has curated and released a first-rate discography of soul-warming house music from artists such as Louie Vega, Daejae and The Basement Boys. After moving into the party throwing sphere in 2009, the London-based operation has been killing it nonstop with a series of events hosted at the English capital's iconic Ministry Of Sound club and beyond, headlined by the likes of Kerri Chandler, Masters At Work and Dimitri From Paris.
Across May 19 to 22 Groove Odyssey will throw a weekender in Ibiza featuring over 40 artists playing at club, boat and pool parties. The last few tickets can be snapped up here. Further down the line in summer you can catch a host of house music greats at Groove Odyssey’s stage takeover at London’s 51st State festival.
This weekend Terry Hunter is headlining a GO party at Ministry Of Sound, and as a warm up before that on Thursday you can catch him spinning in The Lab LDN. As a member of Chicago’s esteemed Chosen Few DJs collective, Terry Hunter is a seminal purveyor of house music and one of the best in the world at spinning records to move dancefloors. That was beautiful. Ever since our Brother Sam "The Man" Burns passed away thus past early March. I find myself distant from listening to everyone. I tried a few times but not everyone was cutting it for me. Just that select few! Grief still overwhelms me. I know how much I love Sam and he knows when I'm ready to understand it all I would find my way. Thank you, Terry Hunter. I just went through that Masterclass and I can be there for others, too. This was a long journey for me to open up. I barely can do it in my hometown. Here's the push forward. Done grace, vocals, piano. Good vibes and rejuvenated heart and Soul. I know we're all One Family. I know it's House Music that always leads me back to me.

How refreshing. I know this is old but.. Been listening to a lot of new ‘ Great ‘ ? DJs of late but they couldn’t mix a gin and tonic. Always been a fan of Terry Hunter and it’s seamless. And he always plays great tunes!
A lot of times I see these titles in videos saying "house masterclass" and I play them expecting an exact masterclass in house music but it's never true. This video instead is really a house masterclass. Amazing selection of pure, unadulterated house music. Mr. Terry Hunter, the legend, really knows what house is about.

Sister made a mistake tho calling this Terry's "classic house set." These songs can be called classics because good house music never gets old....but these are not in the sense that you think 80s or 90s.
