I relate man. Every time I hear and see her perform this song it makes me weep. She was such a wonderful and beautiful singer, songwriter, woman, and soul.
Two years ago as my 29-year marriage slowly crumbled and I decended into depression, I made a playlist of songs that lifted my spirit - Linger was top of the list. I remember my ex would chide me for liking it. It still brings me to tears when I listen to it. Love Delores - RIP.
May you have a good recovery. You will have more of those memories of her commenting negatively about you or what you liked. Remember your worth. If she cant treat you with respect, think of how she treats herself and others. Being a young adult of the 80's and 90's was a blessing. What is being produced now that can stand up to those decades? Now looking back, what a gift I was given.
No need for dancers all around the stage, and 5 backup vocalist, Just pure talent. The one thing I am enjoying now over then is the access to music that we have today. I have rediscovered old bands and music that I never heard before from the 80's and 90's. For example, I introduced my son to Talking Heads and He reintroduced me to their music that I had not yet discovered.

Such a beautiful voice. I was a grunge kid in the 90s so never really took notice of them until Zombie. Lying in my bed listening to the radio, I heard Zombie for the first time and sat up so fast I blacked out for a few seconds. What a f*cking amazing song, and due to my mishap I missed who it was by 😂 Man, the days before the internet were tough!
The Cranberries, The Cardigans, Garbage and so on, grew up in that magical era with power-pop/rock bands fronted by charismatic, talented women. The great 90s. Dolores was surely one of a kind, she's missed.

i was 16 years old....i still love the cranberries. what a strange time we are all in, wish Dolores was here.
