Little lady looks just amazing and I'm happy you found some snow to enjoy the trip in the best possible way. I'm happy that we finally get some real snow here in Austria and what a wild ride. Snowy mountains are what Austria is famous for and we all tried to ate snow when we were little kids.
Same! It was so different to see the green valley and mountains compared to what we have seen in pictures and other videos of the region. Glad to see more snow coming to those areas!
So beautiful! Willas ski expression reminds me of our oldest daughter. My husband and I really enjoy skiing and wanted our first child to also learn skiing as soon as possible. But what a disappointment - she was not amused 😆 because it was so exhausting. But one or two years later we tried again and she had a lot of fun. When I was a child we also did toboggan runs and it always was one of my favourite parts of winter: not having to carry the sledge myself all way up and enjoy a very long run down!! Amazing views! Looking forward to the next videos ☺. Have a great time!
I was sore by the end of the day for sure 😂, but we made some great memories! I’m sure in a year or two she will enjoy it much more! Glad to hear that’s what ended up happening for your daughter! The toboggan rides will be some of our favorite memories from this winter. Thanks for sharing your experience with skiing and toboggan rides. We love hearing them!
Great to see that you all had a lot of fun. Not sure who had the most of you but I guess the biggest kid, Tanner(as he loves toboggan rides). I think he is ready once to go for a more specific as a guest in a 4 or 8 man bob slide in Berchdesgaden, Oberhof or Altenberg or Winterberg. Well, would have been more funny with much more snow. Ohh, mumys baby girl on skis. Hope she will find out that will be fun as well. Waiting for your second part while you have been to Krimmel. Stay safe and healthy. CU
Willa is growing up so fast! That looked like so much fun riding down that mountain. I enjoy your music choices, it is always so much fun! Great video. Blessings on Baby Girl #2.
That looks awesome and very beautiful at the dawn. the salzburger land is my favourite location for climbing and enjoying nature. Thanks for the video and i have to say you know how to live life. have a great time.
12:23 That is called "Einkehrschwung". Take a break from skiing and get your body fueled up. (not with octane but proof) "Einkehr" = "go in" and "Schwung" is referring to doing a curve on skis. So you take a curve (away from the slope) into the restaurant/bar to have some fun (aka alcohol). And when it gets dark you do the rest of the run down into the valley. Not really a safe practice but very common as you can see by the many toboggans outside the "Hütte".
@@OurStorytoTell I'm also a bit confused with the English terms of sleigh, sled, sledge or toboggan. In German we have only 1 term for everything: "Schlitten". If you wanna differentiate, you can add some specification to it like "Hornschlitten", "Pferdeschlitten" or "Rodelschlitten". A Toboggan should not have runners (Kufen), as I understand it. But I'm probably wrong.
@@thkempe Toboggan: A long flat-bottomed light sled made usually of thin boards curved up at one end with usually low handrails at the sides. The origin of the word toboggan is from Native American words for "sled". The indigenous roots make sense as the tradition of the toboggan came out of northern Canada as a means of transportation across the vast Canadian wilderness. Many Americans use the words toboggan or sled interchangeably even though they technically mean different things.
Wonderful report on your vacation, you had a lot of fun all together, thank you. I saw Villa eating snow, I hope, you have told her, never to eat yello snow?
We love the Alps too. Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures. Willa is growing fast 😮We where on the Wildkogel Summer 2019. Very nice Region with the Waterfall Krimml. On the other Valleyside from the Wildkogel is the Habachtal(Habach Valley). The only relevant emerald deposit in Europe. In Summer always worth a trip. You can also "mine" yourself for Emerald. And it´s so peaceful and quiet there.
Til: toboggan is „Rodel“ in German. Back in January of 2019 there was so much snow in the Salzburg region that our company had to cancel a meeting down there. We went instead to Hamburg where there was 1cm of snow.
Actually you find it under this name on the Oktoberfest since 120 years. And 'Duden' knows about it ;-) But it's still an imported word from Canadians first nations.
@@holger_p Thank you for the info. I’m convinced that there are still many words in the Duden I never heard of that are maybe used by some Germans even on a regular basis. 😊
Little precocious Willa keeps charming me out of my socks. She reminds me of my firstborn, those years now a distant memory. She (my firstborn) is now all grown up and has made me a grandfather a couple of times over, she is approaching 50 and has a PhD (she was precocious as well). Enjoy those initial years, they are truly precious - at least in hindsight. Take care not to be too busy to relish what you have NOW!
Brings back great memories! I did this for a non romantic Valentine's Day with 2 friends many years back. There was tons of natural snow and sunshine and we loved the ride. We finished the day with a 2 litre bottle of prosecco and 50 € worth of Mc Donalds. A perfect day for all of us 🙂 Now I have a 6 year old who would absolutely love this and a 2 year old who just sits in the snow and cries asking to go back inside. Well maybe next year.
Willa always melts my heart that looked so fun! I have never done anything like this and im terrified of heights so i'm scared to try skiing lol cant wait to see willa skiing on the next video
Hallo Ihr Lieben!
I did this 2-3 times there, and you really must have a stable back to survive all the bumpy shocks. Of course with kids, you apply more caution and go slower. It's a nice family ressort there. (Not for people who look for Apres-Ski parties)
Probably because she didn't enjoy the skiing, is my guess. XD I was about that age when my dad first put me on skies and when he went down the hill with me in front of him / between his legs, I thought he was trying to get us killed, haha. But it gets better with age. Skiing is quite exhausting and a bit frustrating for toddlers because it takes strength and balance. Later we all had a lot of fun. :)
Toboggans include devices without runners. Even a flat piece of plastik, formerly a trees bark, would do. Today it underlines the toy character. It's not for transport.
Thanks for your video i wasnt sure if i could do this due to having a old knee injury and seeing this video helped put things in perspective. 😁

Thanks so much for watching!
Skiing or riding through the alps is insane ;) Nice idea for non-skiing approved people to ride with that Rodel-cart ;)
That looked so fun to do!
It was a blast!! Have you been before?
Only tobogganing in Pennsylvania. I’ve never seen anything quite like that👍
Not for me! I would be terrified of going over the edge. I hate winter and I hate ice and snow, but I would try the food.
The edge did look a bit sketchy at first!! The food was tasty! You would enjoy it 😊
Just wowww
You " must " go join carnival at Mainz or köln. If not it's a big sin
Ahh good to know 😊 Are you going?

Hey thanks!
There are not a lot of english words describing something which are longer then the german word: „Rodeln->Tobogganing!“
That is very true!!
How steep is the drop offs?
Hi, can you tell me when did you was there ? In what month ? thank you
Yes we went at the end of January! :)
I would be scared 😂😂😂
Hahaha we were at times, but it was a blast!!

why willa looked unhappy at the end ?

Probably just tired.
Why do you call that toboggan? Isn’t that just a sligh?😊
I think a sleigh is towed by horses or reindeers. Could also be a sled (Am.) or sledge (Br.).
