Maglev cost 3 times more to build, Shanghai Maglev already in operation since 2004 but China pursue steel track technology because it cost much cheaper, can be build much faster than Maglev which is time consuming. One more thing is Maglev already exist for so many decades but nobody want to build them, if maglev want to be provitable then it must sell the ticket price twice as expensive as plane ticket. The question is who wanna buy maglev ticket that twice as slow than planes but cost twice as expensive...? That's why Shanghai Maglev is the only operational Maglev in the world and it only 32km long.
Maglev is coming but to make it economical, it is being build and test in small route and upto 180km/hr speed... at present in China. Once it is ready to take over MTR metro lines with maglev, I am certain the top speed will go upto 275-300km/hr and 300-400km/hr, then upto 600km/hr. Don't worry Maglev will come and China is ready to provide this to the world. When time is right and mass production is underway and they become more economical China will 1st take on the full cost within its rail system, retiring the older rail HSR as you see they have 30 yrs of life. That means in 20 yrs, you will see more Maglev in China and they are China design and build. Plus there is a cost to replace the older rail network... That is why Maglev at present have their own rail network and may be build slowly at sametime with current infrastructure. Once Maglev is solid, hyperloop will be much closer to reality. Hyperloop will be next and sure like Maglev China will sell these to the world too when they become stable and cost effective.

+Brant Liu CRH380A用的是日本标准,所以不完全是自主知识产权。标动开始以后的动车组就都是中国标准了。所以现在在服役的动车组很杂乱,即有日本标准还有的德国标准。标动就是解决这个问题。
