Carlos Bernard is a good actor. I am watching 24 Season 2 again. His range starting from being at odds with Jack to working together with Bauer with mutual respect and trust to his evil return. Real genuine portrayal. Too bad they wasted this nice video on that Legacy crap. 24 needs one last season with Jack and Tony with a good fresh story. Maybe the inner-politics of getting Jack out of Russia. Or Jack dealing with a threat against Russia.
Exactly. I remember when this aired, fans were BEGGING for the spinoff to be about Tony, about his redemption, and to have a few dabbles of Jack being in there too without Kiefer having to reprise the role. The showrunners literally stuck their fingers in their ears and sang "lalalalalala I cannot hear youuuu."
This scene suggested that would happen, and at the time they must have had another half season in the works about it. I assume the price Fox was willing to pay for another 13 episodes was not enough to hire back the main actors, so they just dumped the idea, and attempted a spin-off that no one watched. Network budgets are determined by what advertisers will pay, and they were obviously willing to pay the same for advertising blocks during the spin-off, or they were willing to pay as much or more for blocks during a new series; either way Fox would make more money than having a real season 10. It wouldn't surprise me, if season 9 was nearly unprofitable, and they only purchased it to get people to watch that time slot to attract viewers to whatever aired the other half of that year, which probably wasn't as effective as they hoped.
Need another season of 24 where Tony, Chloe, Kate (from 24: Live Another Day) and Belchek (from 24: Live Another Day) working together to get Jack out of the Russia prison!
I'm going to pretend Legacy never existed. They missed a good opportunity with this. Use this scene to set up the spin-off with Almeida as the new lead. What they could do now to make up for Legacy is make one "true" final season with Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida. Two options Where both of their characters reunite somehow forgive one another for their past actions and work together and both characters go out in a blaze of glory. Or they do reunite as enemies again but both go out in a blaze of glory. Both of their characters are two sides of the same coin and are the only two characters left from season 1 besides Kim still alive. Somehow someway both options are a dream for me on how to perfectly wrap up the original 24 for good
This is what should happen. Tony gets broken out of jail by a team of Ex American Forces called "The Patriots" no Russians, no Arabs & no Chinese for once, just Americans turned bad, they break Jack out of Russia, & hold Kim & her daughter Teri hostage (throwback to season 1) & they have Jack running around doing their dirty work, real dirty work. Something like that. I need one final season, with a poetic end, & with 50 percent more Jack story's than we saw in other seasons.
@@ElSoloNoco not a bad idea. I wouldn't want it to be a rehash of old plotlines. But like the idea of Jack's final season being similar to season 1 the way you said. Have it end with Tony helping him later on. They both die and Kim and her daughter live
These two characters deserved better than what they got. Jack and Tony had a bond that no other characters on 24 shared (outside of Tony and Michelle). This could've been a great storyline and one last outing for Jack and Tony. I wanted their friendship back after all they've been through. But instead they went with the turd that is Legacy 😡
Yes, Jack and Tony are backbones of this show. Ah, yes, President Palmer too. We need these three together. Incredible characters played by excellent actors. So we need them three back.
@@snappycruise yes, Tony. In final episode, he made his motives for his actions clear. And most of us who knows him from day 1, sympathize d with him when we understood why he did the bad things. Even Agent Walker understood him and moved her to do the same and lose her job as FBI
The very same government [ex president] who bombed your wife gets a pardon to a nice house farm under house arrest.. I don't blame Almeida.. I don't blame blame his actions in Day 7
Oh, how time flies... believe it or not...this guy is a survivor...the writers didn't have to make him miserable...they would have just left him and Michelle...mtchew..Tony doesn't deserve this...
Tony need to come back and saving Jack Bauer. Because before Chloe, Tony was the person who covered his back the most, but the show treated him like he wasn't nothing to Jack at all in the end.
Legacy gets a lot of flak for nothing. I was happy with it's first season but not the decision to cancel it. I'm glad at least Tony got to reprise his role and pass on a little continuity to the new team. Wishful thinking to believe he'd go get Jack out of Russia without really good reasoning besides just rescuing his old chum he tried to have blown up (season 7). Lots of possibilities for any old friends rescuing Jack from Russia scenario besides just sending Tony to do it. Still on it's own, this was a good little extra for Live Another Day.
