Wonderful interview! Thank you!
I am a ' later in life' psychology student at Rollins College in Florida. I am also a lifelong musician, singer, and fan of nearly all types of music. I have been seeing documentaries on music therapy for a decade now (I remember one about Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford's during her recovery) and also have been reading about the benefits of music lessons on the brain development of children for decades. (Yes, my children took piano, as well as foreign languages for as long as I could keep them in it!!) Last summer I took a neuropsychology class which discussed music and its effects on the brain in development and recovery. I'm a huge fan of this research!
I love her opera. Now I learn how smart she is. Fantastic!!!!😊
Probably no greater example of music's curative effect than singer Melody Gardot's recovery from multiple auto-bicycle collision injuries, including traumatic brain injury. Still performing for thousands and recording albums every three years. Her physician recomended music therapy to speed her recovery while still hospitalized. It made all the difference!
I forgot how gorgeous Renee Fleming still is. ❤
This could not have been recorded on "April 24, 2024", since today is only April 22, 2024, lol! Great interview, nonetheless!
