As a West Ham fan it feels bizarre going into every game believing we can win. We don’t necessarily have the best individuals but we have one of the best teams.
And that’s what moyes does better than almost anyone. “Greater than the sum of its parts” is a phrase that’s perfect for teams built by moyes (when allowed to do what he is best at) everton fan here btw
I think saying we don’t have the best individuals is very miss leading, Benrahma has been one of the most creative players this season soucek and rice are two of the best holding midfielders in prem areola and fab both amazing shot stoppers and Bowen has been unbelievable as a team we are amazing but also have individuals who are unreal
@@alexyoung9775 Its only missleading to some degree. Guys like Soucek and Coufal are massive bums but the reason why they thrive is partly thanks to the system that they are in and partly thanks to their own drive and self awareness. Soucek technically pretty awful and can be somewhat clumsy. What seperates him from these nobodies like Mctominay is his special awareness and the fact that he is breaking records week in week out for distance covered. Gotta keep in mind these guys came through the academies and played their whole career in czech league so obviously their footballing ability will be limited compared to players coming through in England or Germany.

Moyes has built a team that is capable of resisting the ups and downs and delivering regardless of what's going on off the pitch. As a West Ham supporter who has been attending matches since 1972, many times in the past, if we had gone a goal down then the team’s heads would have dropped and we’d have limply lost. Under Moyes, I no longer have that feeling as I know that the team will fight back. Take the match last night against Genk and also recently against Leeds, I just knew that the team would fight back and get a result. Give Moyes time and I reckon he will be our most successful manager since the days of John Lyall. Furthermore, I feel very proud about having Moyes as our manager. He is a humble, modest and likeable chap who volunteered to deliver food parcels to the vulnerable during last year’s lockdown. How many other managers would have done that?
100% this. I’ve been attending matches since 1979, and it’s odd - that feeling of knowing going behind isn’t game over. Even yesterday - past teams would have lost after Liverpool equalised. This ‘new’ West Ham seemed to take offence at them scoring and it pushed them onto to playing better. It truly is a remarkable time to be a West Ham fan - even if those old feeling of ‘when is this all going to unravel’ are hard to get rid of COYI ⚒
David Moyes was the only one who believed in David Moyes. We referred to his first interview back where he quoted himself saying, "Winning, it's what I do" as a joke from a comedian, labelling him a dinosaur. He's been our best manager since John Lyall and can hopefully match or better him. We should not be worthy but I am so glad with what we've been blessed with 🙏🏾
No he wasn't, plenty of Hammers fans could see how much better we were during his first stint, and wanted him to stay to continue the work. Sadly too many were blind to how badly Bilic had let the teams fitness drop and expected instant results and brazilian football. They competely ignored that, in the 6 months under Moyes, we went from the team that ran the least to the team that ran the most; a team that didn't give a shit, to a team that fought for each other. Would've probably been hounded out a second time if the corona break hadn't given him a few months to work on the fitness Pellegrini had let slide, and the attitude of the squad.
@@M1ggins probably a tiny minority but the vast majority were wanting a big name to come takeover and Pellegrini who had won the Prem was mouthwatering for us. When we were linked with Moyes after Pellegrini we thought we were going backwards and wanted another big name/up and comer like Niko Kovac.
@@mkgky15 A very very tiny minority. It's funny how now I see all these people coming out claiming they always believed in Moyes, yet I saw none of them supporting him at the start. I personally knew Moyes would do an okay job, I knew he'd have the team fitter and well drilled, but I still opposed him because I saw him as a mid table manager at best and, like many fans, was deluded into demanding Kovac just because he looked suave in a suit.
As an Everton fan who was somewhat melancholy to see him I see David Moyes as a changed man. What happened to him at Utd, Sunderland and Socidad gave him lessons in failure and consequence that he never had at Everton. His time away from the game between those jobs also gave him the space to reassess his work in a way you simply cannot while in a job. The David Moyes of today is a manager who can actually beat the big teams when away from home (something he never did at Everton) and a manager who I think has what it takes to now go all the way and win a trophy. I think the availability of funds alongside his tried and tested scouting methods have also been a boon. Too many times at Everton we saw him lose out on the players he wanted the most due to a lack of budget. David Moyes is a better manager and coach than people have given him credit for and while a lot has changed in 20 years the changes he made to turn Everton’s fortunes are still as valid now as they were back then. The man is a strong believer in play statistics and sports science and means he isn’t going on the extinction list any time soon. To Hammers fans, I’ll be happy for you as he has turned West Ham into the kind of team I grew up watching at Everton. If he stays for the long run then you’ll have a secure (bit occasionally bumpy) road ahead of you.
Eloquently said. Also feel the failures at his previous three clubs is what is pushing him to take more risk and to be less certain in an over conservative approach. I think and hope juggling the new attacking approach with the defensive one will lead West Ham and Mr Moyes to a deserved cup and league title.
He's there to stay for a while imo, and what he has will be our blueprint for the future. Sullivan has cast a long shadow over the playing staff, far too involved, far too impressed with his barely adeqaute football knowledge, and thinks he's the world's no. 1 football scout. That Moyes managed to convince him to sell Haller & Anderson for an 80% loss says it all, Moyes is in charge of the football side now, without the board interferance in the playing staff that plagued the previous managers. Quite a few of us were very disappointed he was given the boot the first time, yeah, the football was dire at times, but we could see there was a different attitude, the team were running and playing for each other. Unfortunately Bilic was so weak in training that they were all seriously out of condition, players couldn't run for 70 mins, let aone 90, so resulkts were hard to come by until that new fitness regime started to show. We went from the team that ran the least in the league under Bilic, to the Moyes version that was amongst the teams than ran the most. If it hadn;t been for the Burnley game and the chairmen getting coined I think he would've stayed, Sullivan blamed moyes for it, when really it had nothing ot do with what was going on the pitch and all to do with Sullivan treating fans like mug punter wandered onto a used car lot and he had a lemon to sell. I thought history was going to repeat iutself. Pellegrini's team had gone from a side that ran to a side that stood still (I think his first season was down to Moyes, much like Bilic's was down to Allardyce's fitness & defensive organisation). Moyes came in, the crowd were restless and ready to express their anger again. And then came corona. Moyes had the chance to work on fitness, get to know his players, see who had the right attitude, and who he wantd out. And now we have the best team spirit I can remember, a team I can be proud of, even in defeat.
That's an excellent analysis of David Moyes' career.. I wanted to see him do a great job at United, and I still think he was given the bum's rush. I'm happy to see him doing so well at West Ham, and if he gets Jesse Lingard back - I know they'll kill us next season. If Sir Alex thought he was good enough --it should have been given time to succeed, as our last season with Sir Alex we were a patchwork squad that eked out a title on a season everyone else tanked. The club was in poor shape.
As a Hammer im happy to see you mention about the players wanting to play for us, even when we lose now the players look gutted and they give their all, so used to years of players looking very meh after losing
ye when soucek had the own goal the way we reacted wud make it seem as if we lost even tho we got the draw it's beautiful to see they give it their all every match
I remember Michail Antonio in Saints jersey in Johnstone Paint Trophy final against Carlisle at Wembley in 2009/10, in which he scored a goal... And look at him now, becoming a legend...
I think another crucial aspect that you didn't touch on is the way he's improved pablo fornals into a workhorse with that combination of flair and grit, and the way he's utilised our full backs so well in attack, being up there among the best in the league last season and into this one also. Understand that the vid was getting quite long though...a lot to unpack from my clubs rise ⚒
To be fair, Fornals was always a classy player - just look at clips of him pre West Ham. What Moyes has done has turned him into a into a classy Premier League player.
everton fan here....it's very similar to his early everton years, finding gems from lower/lesser divisions and making them top flight regulars, punching above his weight with the big clubs, managing young talented players ....really hope whu's board give Moyes the time he needs
Never clicked faster on a video in my life. So proud of our team right now. The main reason Moyes has been successful in my opinion is because he had something to prove. I remember watching Moyes first interview with West Ham Media when rejoining. He was saying he had something to prove and he sounded so confident in the way he was speaking. I could feel he was going to do well. Also signing Soucek and Coufal has been massive for us. Not just because of their ability on the pitch but because they were used to winning the league with Slavia Prague so they brought a winning mentality with them.
Yeah seems like some forget what impact Soucek and after that Coufal had. It has nothing to do with winning mentality its more of general grit and day to day dedication they brought with them. Winning czech league is nothing to brag home about. Its just the general east european work mentality that they possess. And they seem quite down to earth so also self reflective.
Another amazing video! As an American who has fallen in love with football over the past year, your videos have taught me so much the game, history and current events. So thank you for the entertaining and informational videos!
Yes, and when you think that just a couple of seasons ago they were really struggling. And now from low to the ground blacksmith Hammers, they're reaching sky heights of Hephaestus The Hammer 🔨 😁
David Moyes is the Scottish Ted Lasso 😆 He's a likable character and it seems that he's giving his players a lot of confidence, improves them a lot. Look at Lingard for example last season
Im sure he will turn into one of our best players he is hardworking and technically gifted and under a manager like moyes he will thrive just needs abit of time.
As a West Ham I can honestly say whatever I could of dreamed of happening to this club Moyes has done and more, he’s single handedly turned the entire ship around, our owners might not get the flack they used to anymore but they haven’t helped him at all, if the Czech billionaire comes in it will cos what Moyes has done, and hopefully he will back him and we can go onto even bigger things
Moyes has done an excellent job instilling a hard graft mentality combined with creativity up front. Antonio has been a revelation and the transfer policy has been a breath of fresh air compared to thr United-esque shambles of big name hunting. If he keeps this up, he's manager of the year.
I always felt that Moyes had done very well at Everton all those years ago and it was sad what happened to him at MU.Very happy to see him doing well at West Ham now.hope this will only be better in the coming matches
@@bri1085 no he didn't. Moyes was out of his depth at United. Yes there were issues with the squad and the overall structure but it was Moyes' decision to get rid of all the backroom staff in favour of his own.
@@bri1085 the managers that followed had managed at that level before though. And United is a very different club in the sense that SAF ran the club pretty much from top to bottom. I’m a Preston fan and Moyes was always gearing up to be a manager, he said himself he was always going to be better manager than player, he did his coaching badges in his 30s and was basically the assistant too. Soon as he retired as a player and turned into a manager, he turned us into in a top 6 championship side. Top manager.
Our (West Ham’s) success is down to a few factors but largely due to Moyes…from his back room staff recruitment, to signings and getting the best out of the squad we already had! He has rejuvenated the like of Cresswell and Ogbonna who looked to be over the hill before Moyes’ return. Credit to the changes to training and behind the scenes where even our injuries have significantly reduced and we were able to finish 6th last season with a very thin squad! Long may it continue! COYI ⚒
Rice always gets mentioned and rightly so but the resurgence of Cresswell has been criminally overlooked. He looks the fittest he's ever been at the club and his dead ball deliveries have been quality the past two seasons.
Brilliant storytelling mate 👍 I love listening to your football stories. Well done to Señor Moyes and his team. They play with great desire and courage. I'm also glad to have a growing Czech influence on such a great and historical club that Russell Brand supports. Go you Hammers.
As a 37 year old West Ham fan who has been to plenty of games, first when I was just a kid, with my Grandad who had a season ticket for 25+ years.. i've always thought of West Ham as the team who once in a while gets a decent scalp and is good enough to knock about at the lower end of the Premiership. But good god, what's happening now is beyond anything I could have imagined.
As a west ham fan, I personally have no fear of Rice leaving in the next year or two - especially if we are still knocking about one of the European competitions. Also would just like to say well done for providing such a detailed and well balanced analysis of our owners, a subject that can often get very polarising. All credit to the Moyesiah!!
Agreed. The massive amount of money it would take to get Rice to Chelsea or Utd plus the fact that he has a fairly long contract still means that he looks set to stay for a little while at least.
As an Everton fan, I can't help but wish Moyes well. His reputation for dour football is undeserved, it was mostly pragmatism, and we played some really nice stuff in the later seasons. His teams are solid, he's got an amazing eye for a bargain (not so much for a big signing), and he's financially really sound. I think there is a bit of caution when ahead that costs them a few goals and points at the end of the season. I don't believe i ever going back, but I still look on with envious eyes as Everton concede yet again from a set piece.
@@mydogatemydentures5190 everton were decent, if I recall correctly, with set pieces at both ends of the pitch. He's just a very well organised guy it seems
Most important thing is the recruitment. Ever since moyes came we, we've signed players willing to grant and consistently give 7/10 performances. While before we would have flaky players like Felipe anderson or sensation haller where they looked world class one week and then ghosted the next
Great video. I would like to point out that Fornals, Antonio and Cresswell were signed well before the Moyes regime, but Moyes & co. undoubtedly have to be credited for their continuous improvement on a numbers of levels combined with the excellent recruitment since returning 2 years ago.
As a long time Hammers supporter from down under, due to my dear old Nan, may she rest in peace, it brings me much joy to see them playing with such enthusiasm and spirit. Seeing the way they celebrate together shows that they enjoy playing together and that goes along way to making a successful team. The old "a champion team will always beat a team of champions" saying rings true here. COYI ⚒️
@@histo-geoalt He deserves credit for West Ham. but he has a catalyst in the destruction of Sunderland's morale. That season was a complete surrender. He just brushes it off as "the worst premier league squad in history" Sunderland had 2 worse than that one for a start lol. Again it's not West Ham's concern but he left no friends on Wearside or Manchester.
Pleasing that a fan of another club has done this analysis and pretty much hit the nail on the head in all aspects. The most important thing has been the signings, no prima Donna's, all working for each other. GSB mercifully quiet and long may that continue. Great to see that our turnaround is recognised and acknowledged.
I will say, when Pellegrini was sacked and Moyes was re-appointed, I didn't feel as it was a fall to the status quo per se. But rather, I really just felt: Well he saved us from relegation, give him his shot! Glad they did...
Fair play to you for putting this video out. There's a winning mentality about the club now, we play the full 90 these days, we win games from behind, the fitness and belief has turned full circle, goals are coming from every area and everyone plays their part in a team. David Moyes has even changed as a manager. A man, I believe has a point to prove with nothing to lose by doing so. This is the Moyes I believe Ferguson saw.
I was really impressed with West Ham when I seen them play at St James Park this season. They have a great midfield and look so dangerous going forward. Fair play to David Moyes who has got West Ham playing some great football.
As a West Ham fan, thank you for this video. I think you pretty much encapsulated how we all feel right now very succinctly. It’s a nice feeling knowing that players are like lions out there on the pitch, fighting for the badge. Even if we go a goal down, we don’t let the heads go down like before. No team has managed to keep us out this season. We will score. I think this knowledge also stops the small minority of boo boys digging them out. London stadium, while it not the Boleyn, is becoming a fortress and the atmosphere at that Liverpool game was probably the best I’ve ever felt
Moyes is a great manager ain't he? You know what wasn't mentioned in this video? Three things related to one factor - the board... 1. West Ham board (although disliked) have steadily invested in the squad for several seasons... Even players that have not worked out (e.g. Haller). This has a MAJOR benefit to clubs as they aquire more strength in depth, the quality of training goes up, the development of younger and fringe players improves too. 2. The board have also provided stability at the club, backing Moyes, supporting with funds, allowing him to build and invest heavily in a backroom team. 3. Moving to a new stadium has been hugely beneficial to the club financially I personally don't like the D&D goons... BUT... You simply can't say that they are doing a bad job as of right now... they are investing in all areas of the club, their recruitment has been spot on for seasons (some transfers don't work out no matter what club you are - e.g. Veron @ Utd, Shevchenko @ Chelsea). Football is cyclical.. and West Ham do need to double down on this approach NOW if they want to hang onto their status as a top PL team, otherwise its so easy to fade back into mid-table / flirting with relegation.
On the depth - I truly believe for example John Terry in part became world class due to coming through with Desailly at the club... training against quality attackers like Zola and Hasslebaink..
Anyway... The point is, the Hammers need to invest in an Antonio Replacement, and it wouldn't be a bad idea for CM/CDM cover if Rice moves on at some point... Someone young. Knowing moyes he is scouting the championship now... If I were on the board however, I'd seriously be considering going in for Ivan Toney now... in Jan... as a long term option with Antonio - let them battle it out for now.. and I would perhaps look at Kamara from Marsielle in the CDM role.. maybe even Tchoumeni from Monaco if they want to be really ambitious...
Thanks for the documentaries and I have an idea for a fun but maby a little challenging one: All Silva XI (everyone in the team has to have Silva in their name)
Man Alfie you and your videos from 2019 and early 2020 have turned me into a Jarrod Bowen fanboy and I am from India, a United fan so a mid-table team like West Ham isn't supported here and fans like myself who do watch Football lot keenly than just their favourite teams once a week still find it weird but man what a character he is especially as I am a boy raised on a farmhouse myself. And David Moyes is well and truly a football genius, sadly arrived at my club at the worst possible time and Woodward didn't give him what he wanted in the market apart from Fellaini. He'd have definitely done better than Ole had he been given signings like Solskjaer has been handed, like Moyes literally convinced Toni Kroos arguably the greatest midfielder of this generation to sign for us and LvG pulled the plug on it.
Top content as always. This lad would make a great addition to a company like skysports or the bbc making documentaries on a larger scale with a more workable budget for him. Keep it up Alfie quality stuff
Thanks, mate. Spot on analysis. Sorry about Bowen, but I hope you're happy to see him thrive with a really decent, honest team. Good luck to Hull City.
Great video! It’s been great to see Moyes revive his reputation at West Ham. His current performance makes United decision to fire him look very premature in hindsight. Also, I’d like to see videos in the future on the 7 most overrated and 7 most underrated players of all time. Let’s call this day 600 of asking for it😂 Please like if you also want to see those videos!🙏
Enjoying it while it lasts, watched wolves have 2 great seasons not long ago and then the enenvitable drop off, expecting the same. Loving it right now, not the best players, but the best team, playing for eachother, beautiful to see.
david moyes has always been a capable manager but appreciate you looking into the reasons for this impressive turnaround at whu, where he has raised more than a few eyebrows; here's hoping he can grow back his own someday!
Hull City story really reminds me of my own team's, Real Murcia, with despotic owners which were robbing the corpse of a club earlier respected in Spain. (Literally stealing couches and TVs from the club's stadium among other horrific choices), except for the fact that we're eating sh*t in the 4th division, with no perspectives of coming back to the top flight any time soon. At least we have decent people as owners now who are slowly chipping away at the crippling debt, and our only objective is to avoid dissapearance, which can only be done through good economic management (which we supposedly have) and earnings (which we barely haven't) Love your videos bro! Keep up the amazing work!
Above all else, what Moyes did well to change the club was completely transforming the attitude of the playing group. No longer was indifference and half-assing tolerated (as it was at times under Pellegrini), and players' egos had to be put aside - or else risk being sold. The same policy applied to player acquisitions, with a target's character being the key factor in making or breaking a deal. Take Vladimir Coufal for instance- a solid enough Premier League RB, but whose impact in raising the squad's overall professionalism and dedication is worth immeasurably more than his paltry £5 million fee. It's said that the relentless training schedule of both he and Soucek even encouraged Andriy Yarmolenko to follow suit, and come in on his off days to work on his game. Such dedication was unheard of in Pellegrini's time, and it's no doubt the reason he failed, whereas Moyes has succeeded.
What everyone seems to have forgotten or they haven't spotted, is...all of Moyes backroom staff are ex managers of football clubs. That's a big difference to how normal backroom staff work, having all of them as ex managers is a massive boost in experience.
How about what went right at SC Freiburg, they've so far jumped 7 sports in Germany, from not even the european spots to champion league qualification if they stay
Hate to fact check you on such a fantastic video but fornals was a pellegrini signing.. Maybe some seeds were put in place from the season before with moyes but he was a close to the closing window signing but it was done by pellegrini!! Minus this i do love your content and thank you for doing a video about west ham 💙
As I remember, there was a very questionable goal. Sammy Lee (I think) was in an offside position, sitting directly in front of the West Ham goal putting his boot on when the ball pretty much flew directly over him and into the net for a Liverpool goal. Clive Thomas ruled that Lee wasn’t interfering with play and allowed the goal to stand. One of the worst refereeing decisions I’ve ever seen.
I'd love to see your take on the rise of Bournemouth. I'm convinced Eddie Howe will do well at Newcastle and I think a video on his success in Bournemouth might convince others.
There was a survey done about how optimistic fans of the 20 premier league clubs were ahead of the 20/21 season. West Ham placed at the bottom with 8% of their fans being optimistic. They then went on to finish that season in 6th place qualifying for the Europa league.
West Ham fans have never wanted a sugar daddy to buy them a squad of galacticos. What they wanted was a manager who would get the best out of the squad in terms of spirit and fight and slowly evolve it into a force that might win a trophy with judicious acquisitions. Moyes has done exactly what West Ham fans have always dreamed of.
It’s because we’re massive everywhere we gooooo! But in all seriousness Moyes has instilled more a work ethic and togetherness amongst the team and this is paying off at present.
As the West Ham fan, we should be proud of Moyes, we don't have big signings but he made the team as a unity. He has a sharp eye and could find the strengthens of a particular player. I hop he could find the sub like Lingard we borrowed from MU last year, that we could have more offensive modes. Come on, West Ham! We are looking forward to the UEFA qualification!
Just a couple of seasons ago, I still remember the day where I finally swore allegiance to a club. Just after knowing the history of the Boleyn Ground, digging into West Ham timelines, I found myself staring at where they are then- nearing relegation. And something in me was interested to see if they can pull it off. Pull it off, they did. Remarkable jump from a relegation side, to europa league finish, to present day possible champions league finish! Trust the process.

@@X50505 exactly, spot on there
As an Everton fan who was somewhat melancholy to see him I see David Moyes as a changed man.
The club was in poor shape.

ye when soucek had the own goal the way we reacted wud make it seem as if we lost even tho we got the draw it's beautiful to see they give it their all every match
And this was all before their most recent win against Liverpool. This is like a dream, and I hope we don't wake up
We are massive. Come on you Irons!
@daveorourke77 football from a team that came from relegation scraps only 2 seasons ago, yes!
Pablo Fornals, the only good thing to come out of the Pellegrini era
To be fair, Fornals was always a classy player - just look at clips of him pre West Ham. What Moyes has done has turned him into a into a classy Premier League player.
Done the same with Benny, he works so much harder now, you dont get into the team without that work ethic
everton fan here....it's very similar to his early everton years, finding gems from lower/lesser divisions and making them top flight regulars, punching above his weight with the big clubs, managing young talented players ....really hope whu's board give Moyes the time he needs
His got a vision and as long as we back him it’s only onwards and upwards
Well said Eli, support u from 🇨🇦.
Yes, and when you think that just a couple of seasons ago they were really struggling. And now from low to the ground blacksmith Hammers, they're reaching sky heights of Hephaestus The Hammer 🔨 😁
David Moyes is the Scottish Ted Lasso 😆
He's a likable character and it seems that he's giving his players a lot of confidence, improves them a lot. Look at Lingard for example last season
I hope Vlašić has a lot of success in West Ham.
I see him as a real leader for our national team once Modrić retires.
Moyes has revitalised his managerial career and turned west ham into a relentless team.. reminds me of his time at Everton!
I always felt that Moyes had done very well at Everton all those years ago and it was sad what happened to him at MU.Very happy to see him doing well at West Ham now.hope this will only be better in the coming matches
I agree, that stint at United was bad, but he is still a good manager
Ferguson set up the next British manager at the time to fail just to boost his own ego
@@bri1085 no he didn't. Moyes was out of his depth at United. Yes there were issues with the squad and the overall structure but it was Moyes' decision to get rid of all the backroom staff in favour of his own.

From an England point of view I think Rice's improvement will provide the missing link in the England team as well.
Rice is already one of the best midfielders in modern football.
I cannot thank you enough for making a video on our clubs recent success while acknowledging our problem with the board!
Great video, feel like crying tears of pride after that x
I’m a Preston fan and Moyes was always gearing up to be a manager, he said himself he was always going to be better manager than player, he did his coaching badges in his 30s and was basically the assistant too. Soon as he retired as a player and turned into a manager, he turned us into in a top 6 championship side. Top manager.
This is why I have Bowen on FPL everytime. He is one of the most hardworking players I have ever known
Agreed
Not even watched it yet and I gave it an automatic thumbs up 👍
I'm a West Ham fan and this is a great video! Loads of depth, accurate and very insightful!
The video was well informed, not rushed and amazing.
Great job again💥
@@samuelwicks8677 Biggest reason for me is how happy he seems atm, and how ambitious he is when talking about the team
And somehow Moyes as turned West Ham into one of the best set piece clubs in the league.

I love your longer videos, I put them on in the background when I play fifa
Most important thing is the recruitment. Ever since moyes came we, we've signed players willing to grant and consistently give 7/10 performances. While before we would have flaky players like Felipe anderson or sensation haller where they looked world class one week and then ghosted the next
Imo haller is a good player and I think we should have kept him however, he didn’t fit our system and we didn’t play to his strengths.
@@sirdaddy2714 yeah it was weird but he always looked disinterested

I would like to point out that Fornals, Antonio and Cresswell were signed well before the Moyes regime, but Moyes & co. undoubtedly have to be credited for their continuous improvement on a numbers of levels combined with the excellent recruitment since returning 2 years ago.
As a long time Hammers supporter from down under, due to my dear old Nan, may she rest in peace, it brings me much joy to see them playing with such enthusiasm and spirit. Yes bcoz of his Man Utd job people don't give him credit for his Everton job
He should've won manager of the year over Pep last season
@@histo-geoalt He deserves credit for West Ham. but he has a catalyst in the destruction of Sunderland's morale. That season was a complete surrender. He just brushes it off as "the worst premier league squad in history" Sunderland had 2 worse than that one for a start lol.
I've just received my copy of your book. Thank you, looking forward to reading it.
Fantastic video! Please do a follow up focusing on the other areas you mentioned.
As a West Ham it’s nice to see moyes getting the respect he deserves from others for what he has done for the club great video
Brilliant video. The end reminds me of Villa during the early Man City days they had a right team, but it fizzled out due to sales etc
And they just defeated Liverpool 😳😳👏
Moyes is a great manager ain't he?
You know what wasn't mentioned in this video? Three things related to one factor - the board...
1. West Ham board (although disliked) have steadily invested in the squad for several seasons... Even players that have not worked out (e.g. Haller). This has a MAJOR benefit to clubs as they aquire more strength in depth, the quality of training goes up, the development of younger and fringe players improves too.
2. The board have also provided stability at the club, backing Moyes, supporting with funds, allowing him to build and invest heavily in a backroom team.
3. Moving to a new stadium has been hugely beneficial to the club financially
I personally don't like the D&D goons...
Thanks for the documentaries and I have an idea for a fun but maby a little challenging one:
All Silva XI
(everyone in the team has to have Silva in their name)
Pls Do Best Premier League XI in each position since 1992, HITC Sevens. It would be brilliant.
Amazing what a year can do 🙃😞⚒️

david moyes has always been a capable manager but appreciate you looking into the reasons for this impressive turnaround at whu, where he has raised more than a few eyebrows; here's hoping he can grow back his own someday!
At least we have decent people as owners now who are slowly chipping away at the crippling debt, and our only objective is to avoid dissapearance, which can only be done through good economic management (which we supposedly have) and earnings (which we barely haven't)
Love your videos bro! Keep up the amazing work!
Great synopsis - many thanks.
You should do a follow up video to West Ham United, after Declan Rice leaves and if Daniel Křetínský does finally takes over the club?
Never clicked on a video faster. West Ham and Alfie. A great combo. #COYI

What everyone seems to have forgotten or they haven't spotted, is...all of Moyes backroom staff are ex managers of football clubs. That's a big difference to how normal backroom staff work, having all of them as ex managers is a massive boost in experience.

You've hit the nail squarely on the head, it wouldn't be West Ham anymore with a team of galacticos
And to see Bowen leave half the LIverpool team behind him, slot the ball with 100% accuracy thru to Fornals and booooom!
Love these videos
So amazing! Especially considering that West Ham have never had a False Dawn before.
Cracking video!
