Self-Mastery Pillars: Self (self-respect, esteem, trust, confidence), Circle (people, music, content, books), and Purpose (the reason for self-improvement).
Identity Alignment: Changing one's identity to align with their desired self is crucial for lasting change.
Circle's Influence: The people, content, and environment one surrounds themselves with significantly impact their self-improvement journey.
Clear Purpose: Having a strong reason for self-improvement helps maintain motivation and discipline.

This is one of my favorite videos you've made. I've found that Identity and Perception are key to self-improvement. They lead to long term change. Chances are that you won't stick to something if you see it as temporary. Saying that you'll 'Read for x days this month' or that you're 'going on a diet until you drop x kilos' could work, but you're setting yourself up to stop the behavior after you finish the goal (or give up due to unreasonable expectations). I've found that by adopting a behavior as a part of your identity you make far more progress. If you tell yourself and others that you're a person who enjoys reading (or whatever behavior you wish to manifest in yourself) , you'll view the world through the lens that fits your perception, and ultimately act on it. It's important that you practice the behavior you want to incorporate as you adopt it into your identity. It cements the activities role in the entity you perceive as yourself. You'll recognize you fit the mold you set and you'll continue to live in the way that you believe aligns with this idea. The same philosophy can be applied to bad habits. Basically, by telling yourself you're a person who procrastinates and plays too many video games, you'll set the expectation for yourself and therefore, play more video games, and neglect your work. Honestly idk if any of that word vomit made sense but the point is, you'll become the person you believe you are (with some physical limitations ofc) so make sure you perceive yourself as a person who fits your goals. Anyways great video man.👍

I was that girl, that wasn’t confident at all, but always tried her best, literally, sometimes I just studied for hours because I wanted to learn it. And, yes idk why but I became sad, it was already like this before, but before I was able to do still do things, now, I feel like my world is falling apart. My dad just announced me that my dream isn’t possible and that is actually the only thing that I live for, so I was sad and from that day, I feel depressed, I sleep late. But now I feel like I need to restart everything from zero again, even if I hate my live. I will try to survive for now, cause I’ve always wanted to disappear. Thanks a lot for this reminder.

I really really liked this video! I feel the part where you genuinely told yourself in the mirror that you hated yourself, you were unknowingly telling yourself that you loved yourself. You loved yourself so much, that you worked to improve your life and to become the person you wanted to be, and that is so admirable! It was like, you were telling yourself, "I love you, and I am going to make sure your life is the one you want it to be." While watching, it reminded me of one of my favorite quotes: "Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising everytine we fall." ~Oliver Goldsmith.
I think it's highly important to practice self compassion in our moments of weakness or when we have fallen even a little bit back into our old selves. It is important to take a deep breath, encourage yourself, and keep moving forward in the direction that aligns with your positive identity of yourself. That way, it's easier to steer away from frustration, and have a more peaceful and kinder journey! (Frustration is a good fuel though!)
Again, I really loved this video! Very intelligent!

Recently i've been stuck in an endless cycle of trying to do something, failing to do so, and giving up after seeing no progress. The longer this happens the more i've been hating myself, why is nothing in my life enjoyable or worth celebrating. But things are starting to get better like the local weather. Ive been putting in hard work in my studies, even if it might not pay off but I still am cherished that i was able to focus and give it all in. What you said in this video is right. Because i started to see myself as a hard worker, i began to work harder. Personally i think self recognition is one of the greatest sources that pushes people to achieve so many cool things. Be the version of you who does all the work, one day you'll/i'll get there, maybe, but small steps are big changes. Anyways, thanks for this video, more people deserve to see this. Hi, I enjoyed the video. Thanks for the great content! However, I do think there is an minor issue in your methods; You can't hate yourself. I do think your strategy has a point, especially in achieving short term goals like routine improvements with perks like better grades/ better skin etc. In the long term, however, the part of you that you hate is going to surge again. Maybe 5, or 10 years later, maybe from a breakup. Everything is going to de-escalate, as the small part that you once hated has become the entire self. You're not gonna be able to endure it the longer the period you hated that part of yourself. Here's an alternative; love yourself, and understand yourself. Chips are bad, of course, to your health. But are they 100% bad? They taste good, and have a lot of calories thus satisfying. A primitive man would die for the taste. Yes, you know that they are bad from your experience, but did you know it *back then*? You only know because there was your past self, trying to make the best out of its circumstances. As long as I've been observing, people tend to make pretty good choices about 70% of the time. They often seem stupid because of lack of information or strong short term goals, but they are still pretty reasonable choices. In most cases, the quality of choices you made haven't changed, instead, circumstances have(including your inner state). Love yourself, Understand yourself, and change yourself. Now you're just creating a new version of yourself, and you have only one body. The original self is going to try to f up your new self. Also you aren't gonna forget it if you keep feeding (negative) energy to things(this alligns with the neurophysiological research). I hope this helps! From someone who's gone through a similar path.
++ The list of things I want to say goes on and on, but I'll continue on only one thing.
With the new self you've created, you'll feel like you can do anything. Not that it's bad in itself, but here's the problem. You'll lose all identity, feeling of self, and feel a big hole drilled into you. Why? Because you're now basically a toddler trapped in an adult's body. You're a being full of possibilities, only depleted of opportunities. Since all the resources that went into discovering your previous self will be unconsciously calculated as a useless loss, you'll be envious of everyone and hate your environment. Likely : Why am I so dilligent while my environment fs me up? Plus, since skill & preferences is dominantly controlled by genetics, you'll most likely form the same identity all over again, just from scratch. It's like running away from a human just to meet a grizzly bear. No point in doing this. Telling from experience.
A really strong man isn't someone that runs away from their previous mistakes/ previous self, but who knows to embrace the self and knows to walk the small painful steps. Warning tho, it is painful. 100% reasonable to try to avoid it, which is exactly why many people choose to. I'm not against it, since it does keep you sane.

This is SO REAL. I literally don’t like myself even though I theoretically should. I don’t like the way I act and no matter how desperately I want to change, I end up just slipping back into old routines. Because I don’t trust or even ‘like’ myself I’m deep down so unbelievably unconfident even when I have the skill set to prove it otherwise. Also when you said that you became more confident and sat in chairs differently, that really stood out to me. I want to start loving myself and I think that finding these pillars may be a good start. Very well said. That feeling when you feel lost. The environment that u shouldn't belong to. The habits - that changed after major change, you simply found yourself as no other real you. One I did is escape from that place/situation and will do it again once sorted things out. I hope people like us could have some community or such. Deep down we know we could empathize to each other that almost feels like people we know will never get this feeling or situation. ... And you don't like it when people think you're just lazy or undisciplined.

As a teenager who has been through and will keep going through the three stages/factors you shared, I can admit that it is super correct. Even at my first glance, I felt your content and intention. There is a fact that everyone who has coped with and mostly passed through the "bad habit again" stage as you said, they know that it takes a lot of time. For me, I have always been older than my actual age, I was stuck into that stage which I constantly hated my useless self (at that time, I was 13). I had been obsessed that the thought of life-improvement lives with me daily at every time. And 3 yrs later, when I was more serious about it (at this time, I have changed a lot and realized that my circle was dragging me down, especially my friends), I went study abroad in US, and started over my life. Now, I have another chance from God to filter everything, every relationships. Eventually, in just a first couple of weeks staying here, I can claim I wasn't my old self anymore.
For everyone, changing their circles are always difficult, as I used to try to do. I just want to motivate you that, pls clue that thoughts in your mind, don't put it into any trash bin. Be stricter with your choice, not "today i will change" but "it is enough self-destruction, I have my dream, I need to run out of this suck reality, if anyone is pulling me back, they are valueless, goodbye." Don't be scared to frankly break those relationships that you hesitated to break. Valueless friends will always be valueless friends. Because when you have cleared all of that trash, you may feel like me at the moment: this is so satisfied, so fresh, i should have done it earlier. One more thing is when you chose to grow your dream, you have to clear your path.
Ps: I am 16 now. And I am glad that I can start my ideal life at this early age. I swear I will pray for anyone choose to watch this video, because when you care about these kind of videos, I know you are trying to be more different, you slowly stand out. Smile:)✌💪📸

Honestly, I had alopecia I've been called a cancer patient and more comments that compared me to other people. I was always bullied in elementary and middle school however I'm now in high school 11th grade and I believe I've improved on myself a little bit, but people don't seem to think so. I struggled to gain weight for more than 6 years. I always take cold showers, try and work out on myself but I just didn't know how. You give me strength and positivity to always think clearly and confidently, to always be mindful of the friends you make, and to work on myself. Today I'm so happy because I had done a presentation in front of everyone and i actually did it, I looked to everyone slowly like I was making a speech. I was scared at the beginning but I felt this rush of not caring what others think because if I worry to much on them or how they think, I'm letting myself down including the life I could've had if it wasn't for that. All my life I'd always think about how others perceived me but honesty its been so many years of it and im so done with that. I'm a person just like everyone else and i'm slowly learning to accept that I am who I am and not the person who people want me to be. The story was about how hard it was to make friends looking like me. I now from you think about its not about looks its more about how you treat yourself and do the necessary things to become THAT person. Thank you for making this video, you have such a kind soul and a good heart.

I don’t wanna judge you of how lucky you are since I don’t really know you and in wich situation you were. It’s the circle point, where you have to let go of friends relationships and whatever, that don’t fit for you. U know smart people only go with smart ones, and they don’t let you in. Sometimes it’s you parents you siblings or any family member, that discourages you. You just can’t avoid them, even when you try to ignore. You would just find yourself crying in the midnight under your blanket asking yourself what you did wrong.
Anyways great video I really appreciate it and sorry if I cussed you in any way and for my bad englisch. (It’s my third language I’m really sorry hope you guys could understand what I mean) lol

after going through cycles of "self-improvement" that inevitably end up with me back to my old habits, this video is the best advice i have ever received. you have to change your sense of self to align with who you want to be. you have to surround yourself with the right people and media that align with who you want to be. and without purpose, you will never progress in life. the big 3! it makes perfect sense and you explained it in a way for anyone to understand. also, just reading through the comments and seeing that you gave video replies to people just shows how passionate you are abut helping others succeed. thank you for this great video! i'll be subscribing for more content in the future 💖

all my life I grew up with my grades being somewhat average relative to my peers, did not have much of a routine, no structure, just went to school, hung out with friends, games all day, and rotted in bed. the last two years of high school we had to choose or study paths/fields and I chose scientific. I went from average to the top in class and it went on to uni as well, my life did a complete 180 and it all was because my environment changed, my friends were people who grew up top of the class or smart, who had specific habits and consumed purposeful media and also had ambitious goals and that affected me as well. so it is very true that what you consume, the people surrounding you, and your environment as a whole have a big role in who you are and how you act.

I agree sm. I feel like you just have to write down things the best version of youself would care about and place them in the right order (ofc fundameltal or easiest first). Then just keep working on it i guess and never look back. May cheat in emergency but dont go back to wrong habits.... (u dont realise but consistency is not even ur problem at first, vitamines or sleep schedule may be :D) as i said - order.

Here before this blows up more than it already has.
Thank you man. I actually have a pretty bad problem right now. I'm not sure I value myself in the way that I should.
There's things I know that I need to do but just don't do them. I make my bed. I end my morning showers with cold water. I try to eat three meals a day.
I tell myself, "I'm going to go to the gym consistently form now on; I'm going to stop hitting the snooze button on my morning alarm; I'm going to make those calls I need to make; I'm going to review those things I need to review; I'm going to make that resume." But I never do these things. I play some video games instead. I say, "Just one more game." But it's never the last game. I like to think I don't need to cut out some of these distractions completely to still be a productive person and not procrastinate, but the more I give myself, the more I take on that regard.

The 'circle' you refer to is definitely not deeper than your own perception of self. If your peers can be replaced, the origin must be the self for it to even exist. Purpose is everchanging and alters based on your surroundings, so ultimately having your perception of self honed in unifies everything together. Good message overall.

Mid 2023, I was at my peak, I would go 4 times a week at the gym, getting everything done, I was finally getting better. But then, I got sick for 7 months, sometimes it was really bad, I could only go to the gym once or twice a month. I felt bad. I hated myself. I hated my body for getting sick but also myself for not trying to get over it (which was physically impossible). Now I’m at my worst in terms of shape. Even though I healed and I’m no longer sick, I gained 10kg which makes me at the limit between overweight and obesity. I’m trying so hard to get back on track but I think what’s stopping me is that I do not believe in myself. I try to convince myself I do, but I don’t. Simply because I’ve always been at least a bit overweighted but no matter what I did, I never succeeded at losing weight so now I don’t believe it’s even possible for me. I’m trying my best to forget about my past failures but we can’t just erase our past, but we shouldn’t let it shape who we are.

One stereotype that genuinely drained me was the graph of progression made by the society. According to the society, improvement is always linear. Goddamn, how stupid is that man. That's not at all how life works. Improvement is a bumpy jumpy line going up to that destination. It's not always satisfactory and That's exactly how it works. You'll fall and You'll bounce back. Therefore the main factor about success is always the mindset. I deadass scored so less in my last exam. I had to tell myself over and over again that it was okay. It's better to face failure at the early stages more you know. Moreover, you dont have to rush anything. Take your time, analyse yourself, love yourself and evolve.
