As a newbie, I've tried several tools for trimming including the expensive Giffin grip and always came up disappointed- they wobble, don't stick, get in the way of the trim etc., etc. I finally decided after all that to go back to the basics - use a chuck! Of course, my first thought was "I hope Florian has a video on this!"...and it was perfect! How to make, how to store and how each one is specific to your pot. Thank you a thousand times.
This kept me calm during work. I'm a janitor and it's really nice actually most of the time. But sometimes you get to work in a active/public environment. I get nervous and stressed really easily and loses focus, especially during work with much people around. This just help me not to think so much about such things and focus on my work and what you say. And I fantasize myself doing beautiful and cute cups 🥰

I'm not a potter but i do find these videos fascinating! i feel you put in just as much thought to the production of your videos as you do your pots to show off your process and the finished pot! i always love watching and learning new things. I recently dealt with all of my reclaim and I have decided to dedicate that reclaim to making cups so that I can get better at making handles. Pulling a nice handle is so hard and so frustrating. You make it look easy, but, of course, you have probably done it 10,000 times. I am hoping that my skills will have improved after having done it a few hundred times - the first few dozen resulted in a lot of frustration and smashed cups back in the reclaim bucket. I am going to have to find my patience and trust the process - and I may have to watch your handle pulling videos a few dozen more times. I am also going to make myself a chuck. That should help a lot with the project.

The drying conditions vary so much in my community studio that I've given up on making anything with handles for the time being. I can't wait to have my own space so I can easily monitor the stages of drying. Thank you so much for all your content! I've learned a ton from your videos and Instagram.
Worth making a few leather hard ones if you can - you can even their outsides a little where the rim touches to help them stick better. Thanks for watching as always, Alex!

You’ve taught me so much! Thank you. How much can one carve the handle ie. if I, say, just pulled a Fred Flintstone-sized handle last night, can the top attachment point be carved down to be slimmer and in alignment with the corresponding thickness of the rest of the handle?

you make it look easy. I find quite difficult to be consistent in thickness of the handles and make them straight/align the top and the bottom attachment point.

Regarding the pulling, I always wonder if you are not better of using some extrusion method, more specifically what comes to my mind is some sort of Caulkin Gun extruder. That would allow you to have different profile. Anyway, I am an engineer and improving processes is what I like. Continue the good work, you are onto something. Many thanks

12% linear shrinkage means the area shrinks by 23% and the volume by 32%.

You can control the drying conditions with plastic wrapping.
@@franadav scheduling is also a factor. I can't always reserve studio time the day after I throw, so there are a lot of variables.
