The red tray mac sockets were always 1 of my favorites...generally, they are awesome sockets...finally, a partial toolbox tour...Can't wait for a shop toolbox tour 💯

Besides the desiccant packets, how are you keeping your sockets rust-free? It seems like the higher-end sockets (especially Snap On) rust faster than cheap ones (like Harbor Freight).
Desiccant packets work well, but another thing I've done is do a detailed cleaning of the sockets, and the last step, i have used FREEALL, Fluid Film, or others...i will spray it on a rag, and wipe them down with a thin layer...also, the environment for tools is very important, so make sure the building is insulated well, or do whatever you can to remove moisture from the area, because it will effect everything, not just the tools..
@@FastidiousFlynn that's been about all I've done . I wipe them off but don't clean them I leave the desiccant bag in the drawers if I can I cover the box completely to where the cracks of the drawer are covered that usually helps other than that it's just wiping them down with WD-40 or silicone spray.
Gotta take care of what ya have! I use my snapon sockets daily and I also do a daily cleaning after every job! Sockets look new, aside from the ends showing serious wear
