It brings back memories of the 69 El Camino 350 quadrajet I owned before my Ex totaled it. It was a great ride and would easily smoke a tire when I gave it the gas but, the front end would float out at around 90 Mph.

I have never seen a 1968 Nomad......BUT I am not, and never will, doubt what you say about your information on these cars!! My reasoning behind supporting your information is very simple in fact, BECAUSE my cousin owned a 1966 Chevy Bel Air Station Wagon in 1981 then later he bought and owned a 1965 Bel Air Hardtop and a 1966 Chevy Biscayne sedan (four door) as well all around the same time period!!! What makes me remember his cars the most was the fact that one key unlocked all the doors to all three cars that he owned!! And that was weird enough, but the Bel Air Wagon and the Biscayne shared the same ignition key, while the Bel Air Hardtop could be started with the trunk key of the other two cars!! It was all very strange that they were keyed so similarly!!! But it was kind of cool at the same time!! The other weird thing about his Bel Air Wagon, was you could literally remove the key from the ignition switch WHILE it was still on and running, which he couldn't do with the other two cars!!
My point is though I know they (Chevy) carried a bunch of these name plates over much later in the years, and then I have seen a 1972 Nomad once as well, that was simply just a station wagon and NOT a 2 door!! Again because a neighbor to my parents (while I was growing up) had one!!

I just bought a 1979 Ford Fairmont that I'm building into a 2 door "Ranch Wagon" which was Ford's name for the 2 door wagon like the Nomad was for GM. Why a Fairmont? Why not? As it being a Foxbody everything can be swapped out with Mustang parts and it's a direct fit and I got it for an absolute steal, $600 running and driving and it had the 2 door drivers side door in the back covered up by a tarp, so I just have to find a passenger side door. I'm going to build it into a beach cruiser with the wood grain vinyl wrap sides, the paint is going to be Ultra Violet Metallic GN/M6717 which came on the 1995 Ford Mustang, Aerostar van and Escorts. I feel your pain about the Nomad name, I had a 1973 El Camino SS and when I would show up to car shows the old timers wanted to argue with me that "That's not and SS, all that is a trim package" which is partly true, from 73-87 the SS was just a trim package, but on the other hand the title says SS.

The rear doors on a 4 door sedan are car specific. They will not fit your wagon, 4 door hardtop or any other Chevelle. So the rubber door gaskets will be wagon specific and I just looked it up. Steele Rubber Parts has what looks like most of the rubber door seals, rubber seal pieces for all the doors and tail gate etc. Yes they made Nomads in 1968 through 1972 just like you said. People have a hard time wrapping it around their heads because it is not a tri five. GM was capitalizing on a name just like Impala which was a 2 door hard top or convertible for 1958. The following year it was offered in all body syles.
