Is Love Blind? Life In The Public Eye, Marriage, Children & Friendship - BRETT BROWN OF LOVE IS BLIND (EP. 117)
The fellas sat down with Brett Brown of Season 4 of Netflix’s hit series ‘Love is Blind’. Of course we had to ask, “is love really blind?” To spare you, that answer is always “no” and Brett outlines why in this episode. Unlike many other reality dating shows there can be more than one or even two winners, every couple that gets married from the show can technically be considered a winner, with that said Brett and his wife Tiffany are celebrating their 2 year anniversary of marriage. In this episode we asked the coveted question of, “Is all of this real?…” and we also have the BTS of the “Love is Blind” process.

Love this podcast. I love how Brett was able to speak truthfully yet still protect the inner details about his marriage. Although the way they got married was in an unorthodox way, we must normalize healthy & unproblematic dynamics.
I perceived this interview to be more of trying to get insight of the issues/problems, which I understand why… but he reiterated more than once that they didn’t have those issues.

Great episode! This showed the growth of your interviewing skills. I love when you ask a personal question then answer it yourself to demonstrate that it’s okay to be vulnerable in this space. Then you allow the guest to answer. There were at least two questions in the beginning yall didn’t fully let him reply to. Allow the guest to think. It’s okay to have that silence. It allows for the guest to be a little more thoughtful and insightful with their response. Proud of yall!

I agree! I felt like with this interview it almost seemed like they were trying to dissuade him from his opinions or stance, like they have preconceived feelings about his process. I respect their takes but this one started to feel like they were pushing him to say something he didn’t mean or want to at times (primarily duke and that’s rare for him to do that!)

As an educator, there is appropriate and professional contact. Some children need the comfort of a hug. However, as a teacher, I always maintain the physical, appropriate distance... I believe the hair takedown was inappropriate, but not malicious... but caring for children is nuanced...

Yes! I was thinking the same thing, this podcast felt really..superficial and I’ve never felt that way before about the way they interview guests or handle conversations. It felt like they were trying to overpower the conversation a lot in the beginning. I actually haven’t finished the video because it feels like they continue this throughout the episode, like they’re reaching to have this man speak negative about his marriage, the experience, etc. it made me uncomfortable and the only reason I felt okay (barely) was because Brett handled it maturely and navigated the switch ups really well but it felt..like low key they were dissing on him..I don’t want this to come off rude about N&N because I love them and their takes on almost every single topic for 2 years but this one just felt like a miss to me..

Goood episode! Though ya'll wanted to stomp Brett soooo bad. LOL! Why do men and women project on others so much? Relatively unproblematic unions do exist. We hear and experience enough of the opposite. Him and Tiff are fortunate to have found what they feel is a worth while match. It helps that they both seem like strong individual characters and respect the other verses trying to change them for their own comfort. And clearly they each weren't for everybody or they wouldn't have taken this avenue. God bless them! 🙏🏾

Ok so I have a bit of a longer dialogue with this one. I like Brent! He has a very safe warm energy ! Like if I had a purse with 10k cash I would leave it by him and go run errands ! I would not think twice about him taking anything lol P.S this goes for all of you ! However I feel like he was a bit reserved in opinion! Apart of me gets it because I know he has to cover his wife ! However there were other topics I feel he was overly conscious on! Like the teacher question he was a little short ! Even when initially asked about Clay! Y’all did a good job at keeping good questions coming ! Especially Jalon ! But that’s apart of the job , some ppl personalities will make it a lil tougher to get in there ! Others will talk so much they do the job for you lol ! At the end it all came together, he showed more of his authenticity! Now with all that being said, please get Tony Gaskins on ! His personality will mesh beautifully with y’all’s ! He’s super opinionated and he will do so good with DEM da rules lol ! Keep goin y’all 🎉🤘🏾

“ Teachers should not be interacting with Students on an intimate level” I do agree with this! I want to push further 😏 does that apply to both genders? Male teachers to male student, female teacher to male student, female teacher to female student? Male teacher to female students? Or is there some wiggle room there? Also does it apply to conversations that happen between student and teacher? I.e. student sharing information about home, teacher giving input? What counts as interacting on an intimate level as a teacher or education professional? ✌🏾🥃🥰

I don’t think anyone was looking for negative energy, just open and honest dialogue people can learn from. All the guys have been honest about their relationship not being perfect and I think they were hoping for a little more transparency especially considering he reviews things before he jumps in. He seemed very guarded even though he has seen the show before. People learn a lot from people being giving too much away. He did mention that he’s been without a community of guys and alone before his marriage so it makes sense that he was guarded, but them wanting him to share wasn’t “them wanting to hear something negative” it seemed more like their used to people being a little more transparent. No harm, no foul. He seemed more comfortable at the end and freer. And I agree that Jalon did very well. Maybe they well stay in touch

Isn’t it strange how black men are asked if their preference is a black woman (their OWN) whereas a white man would NEVER be asked that question. I think it’s shameful on our black culture that our black men are even asked that question but due to their ‘out of office’ activities, I suppose the question needs to be asked 🤷🏽‍♀️

The kids not hugging their teachers is a bit much. I’m a female educator so I get my male colleagues have it harder but a quick hug, some kids need that. That’s much. People out here want teachers to carry guns, that’s much but a hug especially when initiated by a student is ok. Come on, everything shouldn’t be evil…I’m sad for this world. I’m all about professional boundaries, hair braiding no, I wouldn’t do it and I’m a woman. But to reject a hug from a student is much.
