My head cannon ending was that the moons would work like macro predators and move on once any major cluster of organic matter is eaten/assimilated. In dead space lore humans are vaguely an interstellar race. It is fully possible that once the moons move on and all centres with markers are wiped out that humanity will be left as isolated pockets too small to attract breatherin moons or form a new moon. The only race we know was entirely wiped out was a planetary based one. It would also fit the Lovecraftian theme of indifference as individuals would not be worth the attention of the greater organism.

Hey Roanoke, there's a Dead Space movie called Dead Space: Downfall. Day 11, tired as I've ever been - started losing gaps in time, I would start a game on CS:S and get ready to play as the time was running out, awell as starting matches but never finished em. By this point I realised my brain was making grab some sleep, and I abandoned my 'experiment' and got some much needed sleep. This was also the start of my very poor quality of sleep. My internal clock was off by a long shot, and trying to sleep there after has never been as fulfilling, or relaxing. Now, if I'm stressed or nervous I wont sleep at all. DONT DO IT, NOT WORTH IT.

If I recall from the lore the hivemind already existed on Aegis VII long before the Ishimura or the colony arrived, so the leviathan could be the only one absorbing biomass from the colony and crew explaining it's weight.
I was always under the impression that the Leviathan was part of the chunk of planet that the Ishimura had pulled. That it was part of the debris field and latched onto the ship before Issac showed up.

Considering you die if you don't sleep long enough, I'd say sleep is when your brain performs maintenance on itself. The waste removal being more efficient and waste build-up causing brain damage, this would make sense. Also, it would repair any damaged or dead brain cells. Edit: turns out Dementia, Alzheimer's, and fatal insomnia all share similar symptoms. And research is also pointing towards faulty waste disposal as causing these diseases so there you go, sleep is needed to induce a low waist production state to thoroughly clean your brain out of waste. It's basically garbage day for your brain.

I was listening to this while playing Minecraft after a morning shift, dozing off a bit, until I was unexpectedly awakened by "The brain is stored in the balls".
I think that the marker played two key roles when first being introduced to Earth 1. To allow for a species to be evolved in a certain way to allow them to reach a certain population threshold for convergence 2. To influence this species to have a certain amount of intelligence Since the brother moons are a species that can only increase its population by assimilating other species, it would require that species to have a certain level of intelligence. If the black marker is capable of creating the convergence event on its own, it wouldn't need an intelligent species to achieve this goal. It can reconstitute all matter on a planet to create a new brother moon, the only downside to this method is that it creates a "feral" moon as the reconstituted matter would primarily be normal animals whose intelligence is purely survival. We don't know how it would react to the other bother moons, but I would have a hunch that it wouldn't exactly know how to interact with its brothers.
I think the Leviathan was the the evolution of the bosses in extraction. Nate “killed” the one in the sewers of the Ishimura, then another mass pursued him on the exterior of the ship before he sent it off again. Given how these masses work I’m assuming it latched onto food storage me that was the crash they heard. My theory is that it began in the sewers by collecting wasted organic material (gross) and the maintenance workers until it was flushed by Nate and the team. Then it picked up more bodies and material to grow again. After Nate spaced it and lost his arm, it would make sense for it to grow as big as it did if it infiltrated food storage. It would assimilate all the food and refugees there. Also I think the shuddering you mentioned was supposed to be the Ishimura descending into the atmosphere and then crashing through the debris field in the chapter after that.
Since it’s heavily hinted that the Marker guided human evolution, it’s highly likely that it also influenced the Tau Valiantians. As part of the process they may have a similar “blueprint” by encouraging the proliferation of species, flora and fauna that would encourage oxygen based life.
A week without sleep was my last week in high school. The hallucinations were an interesting choice but i have often wondered if my brain might be sadistic.
Also, humans on average need to consume about 1% of their body weight daily to maintain themselves. Counting the surface colony food, and the food on the ishimura, you could absolutely account for the massive size of the leviathan and the grave mind.
To my understanding, the current hypothesis on why people need sleep is that the brain generates waste while we're awake, and during our sleep, that garbage is cleaned out while our brain's on "low power" mode. Even creatures as small as planaria have shown behavior that seems strongly analogous to human sleep. This is centered around what's called the "glymphatic system" and it's effectively the brain's sewer system. :p Edit: Oh, you mentioned it seconds later. Well, algorithm etc. so I'll leave it here.
Just spent some time researching out of curiosity, one of the main waste products cleared by the glymphatic system are Amyloid Beta peptides. These are really tiny proteins that are "snipped off" the end of a protein called Amyloid-Beta Precursor Protein to enable it's normal function, with the Abeta peptides having no particular function afterwards. If these build up, it can cause some of them to fold into a beta sheet, which other Abeta peptides bind to and take on a complementary beta sheet. This can keep happening back and forth until you get huge chunks of material the brain can't clear out, kinda like a gallstone.

Welp, just stumbled upon your shin godzilla video which was amazing, this one caught my interest, it is ofc amazing so now its time to binge
A week without sleep was my last week in high school. The hallucinations were an interesting choice but i have often wondered if my brain might be sadistic.
An octopus has 8 "arms", squid have 8 arms and 2 tentacles.
Requesting you study Arcadian, and sciencify the creepily humanoid, large headed, jaw-clacking predators that are scared of a little light.
A new Roanoke vid! Altman be praised!
Ah, back to that sweet necromorph juice. It's good to be home. 🥰
Definitely gonna need to start at the feet with this thing. Its the only way I'll fully comprehend it's shape.
WAIT... so youre telling me my neurons shit in my brain throughout the day?
If ive been awake around 18 hours i start seeing flickers corners of my vision
If you want to change it up and take a look at Humanity showing those aliens what we're all about, you absolutely must cover *Pacific Rim* pronto!
Also, humans on average need to consume about 1% of their body weight daily to maintain themselves. Counting the surface colony food, and the food on the ishimura, you could absolutely account for the massive size of the leviathan and the grave mind.
Roanoke should just do early history geography and human history I’d listen all day
its also possible that the markers and the moons started as a bioweapon in some great war that went out of control
The OwlMan frame was a great touch.
0:08 could we get an video that does not involve aging and how depressing it is we’re not lobsters?
To my understanding, the current hypothesis on why people need sleep is that the brain generates waste while we're awake, and during our sleep, that garbage is cleaned out while our brain's on "low power" mode. Even creatures as small as planaria have shown behavior that seems strongly analogous to human sleep. This is centered around what's called the "glymphatic system" and it's effectively the brain's sewer system. :p
Edit: Oh, you mentioned it seconds later.
I always thought of sleep like an mmo going down for maintenence or defragmenting your harddrive
Take a nap and wake up and RG is playing NEW Deadspace content!??!?! praise be mana from heaven
I was about to commit crimes until I saw Papa Roanoke uploaded. The single mom I was targeting doesn't know how much she owes you.
The fact that the single mom is living off of our tax dollars, probably gets govt. housing and other benefits that a homeless man wouldn't, I'd say she owes all tax-payers.
She be living better than homeless veterans.😂
@@AM-mp7ugdude.. get out of here
@@AM-mp7ug she's still in my sights. So you're saying... Do it

You may get caught and thrown in jail, but it's a sacrifice that I'm willing to make.
Awesome vid :D BUT!! I know, personal experience (I'm 45 now, was about 3 yrs ago), that i tied the 11 day record for being awake. Nerve dmg brought on by severe sciatic issues. I never hallucinated but i did start going insane. I haven't been right in the head since. Much quicker to snap, depression, mood swings, etc.
I think I have officially watched more videos on this channel about Dead space. Then I've played actual hours of the game Dead space
"Shock into the system"
Is this an obscure Fear Factory reference?
Another great video, love to see more Dead Space stuff
Your channel may be in a slump but you've had me consistently since og deadspace vids so I'll be here regardless
Oh yeah. That reminds me. Turns out the galaxy is about ten times bigger than we thought it was. Crazy how science keeps developing huh?
Wooo! Always good to see more Dead Space
