Rza is one of the craziest producers and has some of the best sampling techniques but I beg to differ. Dilla got some of the most craziest sounds, and Fantastic Vol. 2/Donuts is the best sampling I have ever heard in my life. Nothing by anyone else even comes close

From what i've seen in other videos and from tutorials this is way more capable than an MPC imo. I was always a fan of Roland samplers, so much good music made on SP 404s and SP 303s. Definitely looking into getting myself one of these.

@BillyBey1 I have Reason 5, Cubase 6, Hella plugins, & I still use hardware. Hardware will never be obselete in music. Never. I have a sp-1200, MPC 3000, MPD 32, Nord, Edirol PCR-300, Tascam 1" reel to reel, Lexicon 224, (hardware & plugin), the list goes on... Hardware has a warmer sound than anything digital. You can warm it up with software too, but its not the same. The dynamics are somehow a tad bit different... But the general public dont know unless they are audiophiles ya know?
True. I started on a eps 16 way back. I also remember getting fruityloops 1, the very first one, my father got it for me. At the time i thought it was cool and i learned t, and still have thousands of beat files... But i always come home to hardware, it just feels better. When you maike a beat on a computer you feel soul-less. When you bang one out on a mp with a sample off some record or a vhs or cassette tape or something, it just feels right.

I wonder if that included State Of Grace because that RZA beat was classic and originally made for CL2 as the lead single before it got delayed. I would think parts of Wu-Tang's 8 Diagrams and RZA's Digi Snacks had to have been made in there too, since Unpredictable was originally made for CL2 under the title Thug World, and You Can't Stop Me Now ft. Inspectah Deck was also for CL2 under the title No Matter How Hard You Try. The Scratch issue they quickly showed detailed all of these songs the interviewer got to hear as a CL2 RZA songs listening party. Even had that Rockstars & Smoking Barrels from the end of the video that unfortunately also didn't make the final cut. Anyone interested in RZA's beats from this era should look up that issue.

I have the MV8800,and as I tell folks,it was never meant to be an MPC.It's a studio in a box,period,and you can do everything inside.I have other samplers are comparing them is just a waste of time.It's small minded to think because a sampler has pads,it needs to be compared to an MPC.

Well,the Roland MV was misunderstood,because it was NOT an MPC replacement,it's it's own device.It does way more,and it's a different workflow.I have the MV8800 and other samplers,and none of them are the same.
@topcatcarter This is a really old video. RZA has moved on. Even back then the MV had minimal use in his studio. You can still have fun with the MV. Just know that the MV-8000/8800 has been discontinued.

But keep in mind i started on a mpc 60ii so this new touchscreen and os trip me out. Ide probably say get the mpc one cuz its not very expensive, $700

If Maschine had a timestretch module at sampler level akin to Serato Sample, it would be the best software for beat making in existence.
