She looks good this year. She seems more relaxed and patient with her gymnastics in general.

boboy du also full split jumps. My pet leave at this level of gymnastic is not being in a complete split on jumps. That’s beginner level. Full split. This girl nails them every time :)

@@klt5756 I was prepared to say that all beam scores were inflated. But after other competitor's scores, I don't think so. The scoring was really all over the place on almost all events this meet. They did seem to favor Riley on every event. Good for her, though! Her confidence needed the favor, I think.
itsjust tae They pretty much gave her an extra .6 (at least) in difficulty by crediting very slow connections. The judges need to stop doing this. If those easy leaps and jumps aren’t done immediately, they should not be given the connection bonus.
Her execution score was pretty inflated as well. International judges are not fond of pauses, and she has plenty.

We all saw the video, she's looking solid and gorge. My question is: is she taller than last year or is it just me?
She does look taller but she’s 18 so while she might have grown, I think it’s more likely that her bun and the confident way she’s standing are why she looks that way.
Beautiful routine! I think that had she kept her knees straight and toes pointed on her tumbling skills, she would have really earned that 8.7 execution score. Hopefully she'll have those items down for Worlds where the judges won't be playing!
I hope she makes it to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics :)

I feel like the score's just too high for this. Pretty solid routine, but slow connections and really tentative. Lots of pauses
Yeah... I love her and it was a really good routine, but the E score was just too high... not just her though, the whole event had some suspiciously high E scores. Didn't feel like they were judging to the same standard as they will be in international comps.
Yeah I had her at 8.2, mostly because of the excessive pauses and adjustments.
Agree. Her lines and feet are amazing, but that doesn’t mean she has as excellent of execution as the score suggests. The pauses alone would take her out of contention for an 8.7 execution at worlds, and the slow connections would eat away at her difficulty score. It’s still a great routine, but she does have room for improvement before worlds.

Great routine but have to say I dislike the repeated wolf turn. That move needs to be devalued. It actually is an easier turn for gymnasts to do as your center of gravity is low to the ground. Much, much easier....and that is why they do it.
Have you tried a wolf turn? I'm a former ballet dancer and gymnast. The wolf turn is incredibly difficult to both hold the position of the leg outstretched and maintain on the ball of your foot with increased pressure, as your center of gravity is down not out. It's difficult on floor much less beam. Try it.
Did she not just come in 2nd at her last world competition? She seems to falter under pressure... 2018 World AA... 🤔
Something worth noting is that her now old coach has been banned from coaching gymnastics due to being abusive

I think she may have to get another coach. Something is going on. She is injured overtrained. Then her coach is being investigated. She needs to rest and get a game plan for next year. Because mostly likely they are going with 3 all arounders and one specialist . It is only 4 girls. She may want to go and train with Simone. Just somewhere else.
