I would argue that Riley actually has a touch more musicality and she is more "extra" in her movements, which makes it that much more beautiful. It's like watching drag ballet (in the best of ways), whereas Nastia was more classical
I am so happy that Riley McCusker is healthy, and competing. She is very intelligent, and a great gymnast. Her training in ballet really helps to enhance floor.Go Riley McCusker.Win medals for the United States.
I’ve always thought Riley had so much potential in artistry on the floor but Maggie’s music and choreography choices were just awful. This is stunning.
Really? I think her 2019 music was just absolutely stunning, and I liked the choreography too, though Riley didn't quite have the ballet skills to pull off some of it (I don't think any other gymnasts would either, this is the fault of the choreography, not Riley)--twice as good as any other current American team music quite honestly (there are some I do like--I like Myk's, Grace's, Chellsie's and Leanne's--but Riley's 2019 was still way better). This is not in compliment to Maggie, and I'd rather a healthier happier Riley away from Maggie any day, just to be clear.
@@erinm9445 I HATED the nightmare before Xmas music! I thought it was so cheesy. But I agree about Riley’s dance experience, but her form, toes pointed to the gods every second, and her “gracefulness” sort of made up for it. I just have such a soft spot in my heart for her
Wow. I don't usually enjoy run-throughs, but I'm excited about this routine. That's one of the best songs from Hamilton. Wishing her great health and a great performance. The team would be so strong with a healthy Riley.
Watching this breaks my heart. She didn't even get to compete :( Had she given her all and still not made it I would've been happy for her but being out because of an injury like that is really sad. So much potential, such a beautiful gymnast
I can't wait to see Riley compete at OT if things go well she could be the big surprise . That floor is beautiful and she was training some MAJOR upgrades im glade she pulled out so to avoid injury it was smart even though I was disappointed I didn't get to see her compete she looked great in PT
That totally depends. If she only competed bars at Nationals just to protect her ankle - and that might be the case, she didn't even FLINCH when she landed her bars dismounts - then there is still a chance she'll pull out an all-around at Trials, and if she does she has an excellent shot to make the team. But even if she gets put in the individual spot, I'm *sure* this will be ready by the Olympics, which means we may yet get to see it on the Olympic stage.
So beautiful! I was a little worried she was gonna get some stiff Jade-style choreography going to that gym, haha. I hope she gets to perform this at trials. 0:58 Special shout out to Kara Eaker's 3.125 twist
That is awesome 😎! Most of the music for the current floor routines haven't stood out... This combo will - incredible dancing & tumbling & music. 🎶 Yay! 🥳
Really sad that she will not compete at the olympics ! she is really talented gymnast !!! It is unfair because its injury :/ Keep going girl your are a star !
She has some of the best lines and balletic artistry around . Excellent feet , legs and extension. Acrobatics is one thing but this side of things can easily be forgotten and I don’t think is given enough emphasis when it comes to marking . I love Simone but her feet are often flat.
This video is backwards! That means I will need a mirror--lol, but I'm used to seeing any girls perform online as a mirror image; maybe it was only fitting that the last 15 months had so much go backwards in the infamous pandemic period! But Riley can look FORWARDS to Tokyo!
I love this music but why is everyone saying the choreography is so good? It’s basically a bunch of arm waving throughout-same with Jade’s choreo but Riley looks a lot better because she has more musicality and gracefulness. Arizona Sunrays needs to hire a good choreographer if they want to keep coaching elites.
I actually really like this choreography. She really connects with the music and feels more then arm waving to me? Similar to her old choreo but I prefer this routine much more
@@ianxlevergara5353 She's committed to the university of florida and is really looking forward to competing in the NCAA. Not sure if she'll make a comeback, but after tokyo she will be competing in the NCAA.
If riley was healthy i think the should have been her and suni ( beam and bars!) And myk and simone( floor and vault) and simone does the other 2 events
Americans really need to put ballet in their basics, otherwise it doesn’t matter how flexible a gymnast is, or how long her lines are, their dance still looks forced, like heavy
This makes no sense to me.The women are doing it backwards. They should compete in college gymnastcs, than become Elite.Women want equal rights;they should make changes to their gymnastics careers to do things more like the men. There is equality of the sexes in the military. The same should begin in sports especially gymnastics.Women must attend two years of college before becoming elite.I do not want any comments about women peaking at a younger age than men.Examples, the woman from Usbekistan,Oksana Chusovitina is competing in her 40s,and Vanessa Ferrari, from Italy,is 30 and still competing, and had two serious Achillies Tendon injuries.
That would make it less fair on the gymnasts that want to do college gymnastics not elite. Them having to do rediculously hard skills just for a couple of elite gymnasts to go to the Olympics seems like a pretty crappy idea to me.
if i dont get to see this im getting my ankle removed
Give it to Riley since her ankle is busted.
Might need to get your ankle removed.

I will never get over how beautiful this ending sequence is, actually. It's just... CHILLS.

I hope she's healthy for trials. I feel like her new gym and coaches are the best thing that have ever happened to her.

Riley and Laurie having matching Hamilton routines, my heart cannot take it

I don't think it helps that Simone has such small feet, her genetics are against here when it comes to a long line. She's short even for a gymnast.

Some of them do have ballet in their basics. The GAGE gymnasts are ballet trained (and they are probably the most artistic gymnasts in the US).
