You do know there’s a torque spec on those starter bolts? Uneven torque on the bolts can mess up the teeth on flywheel or snap the starter flange

Hopefully fan will stay quiet. I’ve found model cement works the best. The old original model cement. It tends to melt the plastic together. Super glue has failed me so many times.

I can appreciate you guys always being so upbeat and happy go luck... but we all know no one is that happy ALL THE TIME... I think a lot of us would appreciate a little reality/honesty sometimes...your portrayal of the perfect/always happy go lucky life is a little unrealistic...!!! As for your Bronc.. WAY TO COOL!

With a Ford sliding pole shoe starter, you technically don't have to disconnect the battery to change the starter. There isn't power down there unless the relay on the fender is activated. It is still a good idea so someone who isn't paying attention doesn't jump in and try to crank the vehicle while you are working on it.

My best friend from high school which goes back to the mid 70's lives in McKinney Texas. He called me this morning and said it's about 6 deg .above zero and he's got plenty of snow to go with it. But at least he still has electricity. Unlike last year when they had none.

I live right next to MCK and i didnt have even a flicker of power for 4 days. Luckily i grew up in chicago and knew to close off rooms etc to keep heat in, but no gas in neighborhood, not much food to eat cold, no firewood. And i shut off water at street to prevent pipes freezing. Pretty miserable 4 days (esp because not a flashlight in the joint, my kids keep stealing them and losing them, breaking them, or running out batteries)
This year i had a ton of wood, butane stove, plenty of cold and easy to cook meals, and several battery banks for cellphone. I ran mine out working because in the 17yrs ive lived in my home and 22yrs in dfw ive never gone an hour without power. Not at all expecting what happened, but ill be damned if im caught pants down with kids to take care of again!

I love that old Bronco! That old heater ductwork is exactly the same as the old duct that was in my old 68 F-100 Custom Cab. And mine was so bad and falling apart so I just took it all out and let the heat just blow into the floorboard, and it still warmed the truck just fine without it. Glad to see y'all got the heat working, It sucks to be cold while out taking a ride and trying to enjoy yourself.

Problem with using lube, is that it's only a short term solution. Since it's winter time, more than likely you will drive that a lot. Within about 3 months, maybe less, you will end up doing that all over again. Your best option is to just replace the fan.

Shoot i hit the send button too soon. The reason Im so interested in your Bronco is that I spent a number of decades ysing a 67 Bronco as my daily diver and primary entertainment Sometimes I cussed t it, sometimes it bailed me out of trouble. Thats why I feel at least a little qualified to hrow out some suggestions about Betty boop for yo to consider as you see fit. My first suggestion is, now that your Bronco takes you places and you are starting o explore climbing rocks and fording rivers it is high time for you to have a spare tire and a good place to carry it on Betty and a high lifter jack so there is a way to change a tire in the middle of a river or while leaning abainst a hillside on a rock filled trail. So I suggest getting a fifth tire and wheel just like the other four. That gives you the best chance of getting back out of the kinds of laces that can push a tire off of a rim. Forme the best place to carry a spare in a Bronco that doesnt have a ton of extra cargo room is the stock tire carrier that latches to the tailgate and swings on hinges that mount outside the tailgate on the body. The stock way the tire rack attaches to the spare i9s complee junk however and may not even fi a big tire. But the swinging part has a perfect spot to weld a on the end of an old axle or similar so that any wheel with a bronco bolt pattern can be bolted to the ire rack. Wild Horses 4x4 has all the parts except the swinging rack. and maybe the backing support plates for hinges Tomsoffroad in Medford Oregon has the swinging part of the tire rack for 300 bucks *which is apparently officially called a Factory Style Tire Carrier Mounting Loop* as well as backing plates if needed.. Toms is a good outfit IMHO and WildHorse could confirm or refute that for ya. Last but not least Betty needs a hi lift brand jack.. Accept no substitutes. Wild Horses has a 48 inchlft model that is big enough for betty .and a 122 dollar isolator that will keep he jack from rattlingand driving you slowly mad over time. Yoll need to figure out where its best to mount i9t in Betty and figure it out. I welded some althread onto my rollbar and used two big wing nuts to mount mine But Im not as clever as I think I am so there is probably better mounting ways. Anyhow thats my first suggestion. Next will maybe be how to deal with your rear driveshaft and pini9on angle and rear springs Damn Im opinionated , pushy, and litter up the place with walls of text Sorruy

Hi. I was looking for ideas about Ford 9 inch housings suitable to base a DIY IRS idea Im hatching and found your video on Roxy's IRS. Then I got pulled into th rabbit hole, discoverd yoyr Betty Boop Bronco and binge watched all or nearly all of the BBB content. Which is great. I think you both are great He is calm and has a deep understanding of fixing most surpris attaccks from broken or contrary vehicles and she is nearly always bubbly and positive and energetic and mostly honest about the god and bad of products and people. A antastic team. Anyhoo I didnt start writing this o say hanks or blow sunshine up your resses. I wanted to make a few suggestions for a few future epsodes about the Bronco that I think might improve her for you or prevent some problems that might be had when dealing with a fifty year old truck that might be tooling around miles and miles away from the placs a tow truck can go. Iv got maybe a dozen suggestions And since wild horses is a sponsor of yours Ill ry to mention their products when practicable.

Sounds like a dead spot on the starter motor. Word of warning, when you are working on battery terminals, while wearing rings, it is advisable to wear gloves or tape over the rings, in 47 years of working in the motor trade, I have seen a number of people who have shorted between the positive terminal and ground with a spanner and the current melted the ring into their finger. Great video as always.
