Love the way you interact with the kid, she is very lucky to have you and all your family to show her how to be a good human and learn about cars and life. Keep up the fantastic work!
I absolutely love the family values your channel offers. In a world so jaded with negativity, your channel is so refreshing to tune into a family working, tinkering, and playing together *stays* together. Ya'll are the bomb! I can't wait to see you next month on Power tour. Cheers! - Wright and Michelle :)
I love that s*** how she teaches her niece I got Grand boys and they ain't interested in trying to learn at all about cars all they want to do is drive so kudos to Emily for teaching your niece that I love it.
I was just thinking, that kid is growing up. I can't believe I still think of her as that "little" girl. Life passes swiftly, make sure you take time to enjoy what is around you. It will be gone all too soon. Happy days.
Generation 4 is a great child that's how all children should be not going around with attitude problems it shows how your family care for each other and are tightly bonded you are an example how families should be Generation 4 deserves a huge icecream love u all stay well and safe
I have a 74 Triumph Spitfire 1500. It's a fun care to drive, but working under the dash usually gets me speaking in a language that my mom would be getting out the soap, LOL.
Seen on a bumper sticker: "All the components that are falling off of this automobile are of the very finest British manufacture." ;-) All kidding aside, when will we see "Flying Sparks Hangar"?
Teaching the next generation = YES!! Great job on passing the experience on! They will not learn if we do not teach, I taught my 4 Boys all about mechanizing, 3 got it and one will have to hire it done. He will at least know if he is being screwed though, so at least he learned that. Not everybody will be mechanically inclined, just like everyone will not be able to hunt and fish for their food.
OMG!! That "Kid" is so great. I love watching her grow up on your show. She adds just that much more fun to your "shenanigans". Which car is her favorite? The next one? She'd look good in that Tri-five wagon you were lookin' at.
Love it when Kid helps. You are her hero. Hope the MG doesn't have the Lucus ignition stuff. If so by a bag of part and throw then in the trunk. HAPPY TRAILS!!! Love your stuff and Aaron has taught me a thing or two.
You're helping raise a possible future female mechanic, or something even more important. You and Aaron are a large impact on her life, and it's in a great way. Keep it up! Love your videos. Be safe!
I can't believe how big the kid is getting. I remember seeing her back in the first episodes with your GTO, time goes by so fast. Its going to be awesome to see what her first car will be.
MG's are cute, fun to drive when they run but a NIGHTMARE to maintain! I spent 30 years working on British and European cars. As well as Japanese and of course American Iron. The consensus in my shop was that MG stood for Miserable Garbage. LUCAS stands for Leave U Cold And Shivering. Bless your heart if you get that unit running dependably. Between you and Aaron I have no doubt it will be a labor of love. Your niece, The Kid, is a treasure. We love her and Finley a bunch!
Utter DRIVEL! As Jay Leno says you Americans are garbage at working on British/European cars and then blame the cars when you never get things right. British cars back then were always simple to maintain and easy to maintain as well and the problems with these cars back then was people not servicing and looking after them and garages doing garbage jobs on them using CHEAP parts and then blaming the car/Lucas for any problems when these parts failed or the car broke down. We had the same problem here in the UK with the garages and fast fits etc ripping people off and fitting cheap parts etc and owners who never serviced their cars until they broke down and they had to take them into a garage to get them fixed or sold them on and then other stupid people would buy that unlooked after car and then blame the car/manufacturer for all the problems they ended up with. We ended up looking after and servicing our own cars and never used cheap parts in them and always used Lucas as well when replacing points etc and we never had any problems with any of the BL cars we owned. Still lots of people with old BL cars reliably driving around here in the UK today no problem and others doing road tests such as Hubnut exposing that these cars were not the rubbish that people keep on spouting that they were.
a few years back i attended a roadside breakdown for a nurse, the immobiliser socket had unscrewed itself + fell behind the dashboard. no matter how hard i tried, i could not get my hands behind the dash to retrieve it. then the woman's friend pulled up, slipped her hand behind the dash, retrieved, + screwed back in place in about 40 seconds. i stood amazed, " i'm a midwife, used to working blind in small places"....
Great helper, The Kid!! Funny how you call her the kid!! I would’ve never known she was your niece and not your daughter especially when you said fourth generation but she still is fourth generation enjoy I look forward to the next episode to see you girls go on adventure!! Be safe ..
"Kid" and mother were great! Love their enthusiasm. All the players are so cool in your videos. The MG will be a perpetual repair, but oh, so worth it! Loved when your mother came out and saw the car in her driveway with applause. So neat! Happy Mother's Day!!
I owned an MG for 6 years...I spent more time working in it than I did driving it. Everytime I fixed something, another item broke. Enjoy your MG, they are a lot of fun!
Tough to pick a favorite, I love the enthusiasm for the car that all of you have, love the learning going back and forth between generations, family is awesome. The MG will be a project, I was born in 1958 and my folks brought me home in their 1952 MG TD. Dad had freshened it up and they traveled around with the car but my arrival ended the 2 seat deal. Dad was a gearhead extraordinaire, and he spoke of the car fondly til he passed, but always cautioned me about anything British..."son, they do a lot of things right, but the Lucas Electrical...well if you step into one just plan on a new harness." My Mother is 91 and still remembers the top down rides with a scarf over her hair, and the exact paint name and code for the color he painted it.
CHERISH those family moments!, (like the adventure in the boat!)... get a gopro to record ALL the anecdotes the 3rd age people say.......... IS A PRICELESS memory!
Have owned two MGs and yes they always have something that needs to be fixed. But they were both awesome! Had a '71 MGB/GT and a 1979 MGB. The second one I drove for 10 years as my primary (when not in the shop) ride. I sold it to an officer in the RAF who took it back to England where he intended to flip it from left to right hand drive. Oh yes I had it with me in England for three years.
I love watching y'all in ur adventures with all u do. And I'm so happy to see the kid learning how to work on the vehicles hopefully she will keep with it
Your episode brought back a memory that I hadn’t remembered for 40 years. My Uncle had an MG and he took my Grandpa and me out in it one time when I was a kid. I had to sit in the “back” section kinda sideways. Thank you for taking me back in time. ☺️
I got to tell you that was a great video, Back to what you guys do best, love the shop looks like mine (lived in fun place where memories are made,. How about a little more gto.
It's great to see a young person who is interested in doing things with their hands, great how yous work together, nice MG, all the best to yous and your loved ones
You and your niece make a great team and such quick learner And love the part your mom said learning from a four generation. Hope you get the bug out of it nice car.
Have been a fan for sometime even saw you guys at PRI in Ohio. The videos are always great, its nice to see videos where folks are learning as they go often people act like they know it all. I'm very impressed with Generation 4 Emily and her desire to work on mechanical things. So many men and women are hesitant to work on mechanical problems.
Well Emily, good luck on the MG. In my short career working on foreign cars I saw a lot of them. Can't say I ever counted on one getting me from Point A to Point B. However, trying not to be negative, I'm wishing you good luck. Hope you have a lot of fun with that car and that your Mom does to. I owned a 1275 MG Midget which I had from new in 1973 and I would like to quosh this perceived wisdom of unreliability. My car never broke down in the three years I owned it and the same was true of the MGB GT that I owned afterwards. Your 1500 Triumph engined??? Midget has suffered at least 40 years of poor servicing and badly fitted mods. I presently own a 1966 MGB roadster that has been totally rebuilt with a Heritage bodyshell and it is totally reliable also. So to all the naysayers I say give your car some love and good servicing and it will not let you down. Strangely there seem to be a lot more MGs still surviving than Toyotas or BMWs. Good luck with the Midget project they really are fun sports cars.
Another fun video. Just a future hint, next time stick a string, welding wire or an electric wire to the end of the cable, that way you can tie the new cable to the string and pull it easily back the same way. makes a 3 person job into a 1 person job ;)

they are called rostyles, the closest us mortals got to alloy wheels in UK in the 70s
vega GT wheels supposedly fit too
