I attended Greenbelt50 for Indigo Girls and got introduced to Grace. That there was a top shelf festival performance and a joy to be a part of!!❤. Made me a fan right away!
Alrighty, story time, I started listening to your music in around 2015 because my dad and brothers went to a Robin Ince show where you were playing in the interval, they bought tell me a story and whatevers left (I have an iPod nano that I STILL keep running coz it's the only way I can listen to those albums) and I was introduced to it. I loved it from the start, despite being only 6 years old! I didn't understand any of the meanings and didn't understand why my parents laughed when I belted out the "fuck yous" at the top of my lungs, but I loved the tunes and the beat. 7 years later, im a lesbian (semi out) a leftist and a teenager and love it even more. Somehow I managed to fall in love with Grace and this music from the start, before I even understood most of it, let alone knew how much I related to it! These days, it sometimes makes me cry, sometimes makes me euphoric and always gets my heart pumping. I'm proud to say I've been here from the start and will be here all the way. Thank you for everything, it is impossible to explain how much this music means to me.
I’ve got three iPod nanos. Actually four, but one is missing somewhere in my car. Still not enough to hold all the music. And you have the coolest parents and brothers. Happy life to you 😊
Excellent example of how to make playing a song in front of people into a performance--Grace isn't just singing; she's telling a story with her facial expressions and gestures and subtle changes in singing
Yes!!! I’m so glad I’ve found this song as I’ve been searching for it since Jo Whiley played it on Radio 2 last week. Nothing was coming up for the lyrics I could remember so had to go through every song on last week’s playlist. Totally worth it!
came to see you recently with my 14 year old sister who hasn't heard tons of your stuff before, she really like the santiago/peralta reference in this song because it was one of the only references she got!

Ahh the 'I'm a love with a straight girl' anthem
Oh Grace, you are a bloody living treasure. I caught you at the BMMF in Katoomba. Our group are all in love with you. Fight the good long fight.
The Santiago/Peralta line is so clever
If you ever come to play in the States, you'll have me in the crowd cheering like crazy!
Grace Petrie is one of the greatest songwriters of our generation.
Jeez, it's just one great song after another -- this is MADNESS!
Ok I've had this stuck in my head for like a week 😂
Amazing song and I enjoyed the Brooklyn 99 reference!

This is fab, love the communal feel. Has left me resolved to get out to more dances (and reminded me to get a ticket for your gig!)
Such a cool idea for a video. Confusing af to have Grace dancing to Grace :D
Amazing song, heard it on TGF - 'this way lies insanity' what a perfect fucking line. So true.
