How good of quality and dependability is this unit. Is it American made, and what is the warranty, do you stand behind this? How does it compare to Whole house fan co.'s product?
I have a split level home with three different attic areas. Can a single unit do this or would you recommend smaller units placed in each attic area? Wish you guys were in So Cal!!
If you were installing the fan in a square room say 14x12 do you have to find the exact center of the room like you would a ceiling fan? What if the exact center of the room has floor joists in the way? Do you just cut them out of the way and build a box for the fan? Or do you just get it as close as possible to the center of the room?
If it’s only for a bedroom. You would probably wanna keep it The furthest away from the window. Or wherever your taking the air from. That would be my guess.
Thinking about installing something like this in the vertical surface of a skylight "chimney." I wonder if something like this would work...Thoughts, anyone? (If nothing, I'll probably call these guys this winter...I can't even think of asking someone to crawl up into the attic on a Sacramento day!)
What’s the purpose of the fan? You generate negative pressure in the house and positive pressure in the attic. The positive pressure in the attic will push down the attic air down into the house around the AC supply registers. The hot air in summer and cold air in winter in the attic, plus light dirt will get into the house
You fundamentally don’t understand how to use it. First, the attic must be vented via gable or soffit vents. Second, you partially open a couple windows at night when the outside temp is lower than your t.stat setting. Then the fan sucks in cooler air from outside and also blows hotter air out of the attic through vents.
You usually shoot them out a gable vent in the attic or at least in that direction and not only that there should be no attic air coming down into your house if your ceiling cans have been properly sealed and your attic access is pretty well sealed off?
If the air conditioning is on you be losing cool air a lot. I can imagine this for a garage, but not for a house with central air. You never cool the house.
Right. See you would only use this when it's a bit nicer outside like 80 degrees or lower. Then you would save by not using your air conditioner and instead use an efficient ecm motor to actively bring on air from am open window on the other side of the house. But you're right. You would never use this if the AC is on.
The whole theory behind these fans if that during the cool hours usually in the morning they would like you to open your windows or doors and pull turn the fan on and it's supposedly pulls all the heat load out of the house how your air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard
Very thorough video! Thanks for doing this!

What are the screws that you’re using for all sorts of fastening done in the video?
Will you be replacing the fire block you cut out?
Thank you for posting this video. Good job on install. Peace.
Thanks for sharing! How much does it cost?
I think this will be excellent for a garage.
Hold a vaccum to multi-tool (saw) when cuttting
Do you guys cover the Stockton California area?
how long do you usually have to leave the fan on to get the outside and inside temp the same?
so after one year, any regret, good decision, helps? especially during this summer
I wish you could have recorded the sound od this unit running a little more. Very nice install.
No knee pads?

Great video
Thank you
Why is the fan not mounted at the ceiling intake instead of at the end of the duct?
Its for noise suppression.
Wow! I just bought a house. Would love to have one of these installed. 3/23/22.
Sacramento?
@@foxfamilyhvac nice.

Damn bro shorts and short sleeves in the attic. Weren't you itchy as hell during that install?
@@foxfamilyhvac did you mean this costs about $4000 for costs and install ?
How much it cost to install now?

@@nathanrobertson3349 Yeah that makes sense. I was just thinking of how it would look when done.
hello, I liked it very much. Can you find out how much the installation will cost?
Im about to become an installer for this product, doesnt look too hard,
Not at all
Nice
Do you need a permit to install a whole house fan in California?
No unless you’re renting a house or something

The only problem I seem to have is everywhere I check I have wires in the way!

That's why the attic needs to be vented properly.
I thought these operate off a RF with a remote. Didn't think you had to run power down the wall.
@@ChristianCMC you can, there's diff options. RF remote is another add on option.

so its just an upscale fan that goes in your attic. no refrigerant involved.
Correct
It creates a constant breeze throughout the house like you're next to the ocean. It's amazing.
Need more video time to actually hear it. A few seconds doesn't cut it. :-(

You never run a whole house fan at the same time as the AC.
Putting the vent pipe on the motor is a bitch,,😡😡😡! I STRONGLY suggest putting the vent duct on the motor before hanging it!
wear a mask when you cut that shit
