I find that rule frustrating, considering that “hi” and “you” came to mind immediately as very common exceptions. I want to love LOE, but stuff like that drives me nuts. Thanks for the video though. I love the name Selah :)
I’ve been considering this program for my daughter and this lesson just made me decide to go for it. Love how repetitive and in depth it is especially with the phonetic rules.
That’s fantastic! Yes, it is incredibly thorough and has made teaching my kids to read phonetically a lot easier. Learning this way definitely helped spelling too!
I know right?!?! I was skeptical for a while, but diving in and switching has been so great for us. The other day she said to me, "Mommy, I love this new curriculum you got for me!"
@@mama-yael Aww that is amazing. My daughter told me the same thing last this year when we switch her English curriculum!!! Such a great feeling 🥰 I hope you guys are having a great summer !!!
I have purchased this (level A) and have sat on on it for two years! My daughter already reads very well (we used teach your child to read) and will be turning 6 this year. I worry that it will confuse her. Can you speak to that a little? I also have almost 5 year old twins who will be doing teach your child to read as well this summer--As I flip through it it, level A just seems soooo laborious and confusing lol but you make it look fun! I just don't know how it will work with three kiddos and if I should just stick to open and go curricula. I want to be thorough but feel overwhelmed by all of the pieces! Thanks for the wonderful video!
Hi Brandie! I’m happy to speak to that 😊👍. My Kindergartener knew all her letter sounds and was reading some when we started Level A. To be honest I skipped things in the lessons, and skipped entire lessons from the beginning of the book. I really really love their approach to honing a child’s aural skills, hearing individual sounds in words, syllables, etc. as well as spelling and consonant blends. Im noticing a big difference between my oldest and youngest daughters, primarily because Level A practices these skills a lot. Since you already have the curriculum, I would encourage you to take some time, comb through the latter lessons and see the particular skills your kiddos should practice. The readers are adorable and might be fun for them to go through 😊.
@@mama-yael We are using the good and the beautiful right now. My oldest is working his way through level K. We're almost done with the BOB books series as well. Do you think foundations B will be a good place for him to start?
Hi mama! It reaaalllly depends on your child. My 4 year-old started with level A in the fall and will be finishing up the year with level B. We definitely still use Foundations!! It has been a great curriculum for us.
Great question! If we were to go through every single part exactly as it is listed (scripted) in the book, it would probably take about 45 min. - 1 hr. However (and this is a big however, lol), the lesson itself has many different interactive activities so it's a very different 45 min. than a sit-down, stay-still 45 min. lesson. It also really depends on your child and how long they may need to digest a concept.
Also, now that we have gone through two different levels of LOE, we have gotten into a rhythm with each lesson and we know what to expect. The activities change (which is what's exciting), but the sequence of the lessons are mostly the same. I have also become more efficient when skimming through each lesson and deciding what activities to do and which ones we can save for later. I hope this helps!

I totally understand what you mean! And thank you 😊.
I love you actually going through a lesson, it's so helpful in choosing curriculum! looks like your daughter enjoyed it!
You're welcome mama! Thank you, and I'm so glad to hear that it was helpful! Yes, this curriculum has been a godsend for us.😊

Hi Jael...I am here great walk-through! I love the interaction that this curriculum provides.
Hey girl, thank you! Yes, the interactive elements really make the lessons so fun for her! 😊
Love the video.! I’ve been using LOE level B and my son loves it.!
Thank you! Oh, that's awesome! It's been such a blessing for us 😊.
This was incredible! I'm strongly considering switching to LOE.
Thank you so much, Rayisha! LOE served us well for sure. What are you currently using?

@@missrayishat Fantastic! From what I have done with TGATB Level K with my 5 year old, I think transitioning to LOE Foundations B should work well. 😊
This was very helpful! Thank you
Hey mama! I'm glad it was helpful for you. 😊👍
I Love LOE so much!
Isn't it great!?! We're so thankful to be using this curriculum!
Thanks for sharing. I have a Selah too. Love the name
Oh, that's awesome!!! I love the name Selah too 😍. And you are so welcome, mama 😊.
Awesome lesson!
Thank you!! So glad you enjoyed it!😊
I saw you said she was 6 in this video. So would u say level or book A is for kindergarten and B first grade? Do you still use Foundation?

How many days a week do you do these lessons? Every day? Or only a couple times a week?
Hi Kasey! I do 2 lessons per week 👍. And the days we don’t do lessons, we’re reviewing what we learned.
How long would you say this lesson would normally take you?

How old is she?
Hi Pam, she was 6 when we did this lesson. Let me know if you have any more questions!
