Both The Godfather and Duke "The Dumpster" Drosey were actually stolen gimmicks. In the Pacific Northwest area of the US and Canada there's a local indie wrestler named Randy Taylor. He's something of a big fish in a small pond. He's worked in both the WWF and Jim Crockett Promotions as enhancement talent, but as is often the case he found the most success on the independent scene. In the early 1990's Randy was wrestling as The Garbage Man, where he wore a set of coveralls into the ring and carried a metal trash can with him. The gimmick was really getting over with the fans. Recruiters from the WWF heard about his success as The Garbage Man and offered him a contract. At this point in his career, Randy was happier being an indie star on weekends and working a day job during the week than he'd be working for the WWF, so he turned them down. So the WWF took the wrestling garbage man gimmick and gave it to Duke Drosey. Sometime later, Randy Taylor dumped the Garbage Man gimmick and started wrestling as Randy "The Pimp" Taylor. He'd wear brightly coloured animal print tights, a feathered fedora, sunglasses, and carry a cane to the ring. Early in the gimmick, his wife (a former exotic dancer) would accompany him to the ring as his "lady of the night". Once more, the WWF got wind of his new gimmick. And once more, their recruiters offered him a contract. But Randy still wasn't interested, and so they turned around and gave the gimmick to Kama Mustafa, renaming him The Godfather.
Macho Warrior Ric Hogan is so hilarious, it's like as if Macho Man Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior did a DBZ style fusion dance to fuse into one, and did it again with Hulk Hogan to add to that monstrosity of a gimmick and sprinkle a little pinch of Ric Flair's promos. And on top of that, He would have the Randy Savage Elbow Drop as the finisher, Warrior Splash and the Hogan Boot/Leg Drop combo as the Signature, and the Figure 4 LegLock as the Submission maneuver. That's literally what it was, bruh. I'm done. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Are u fuckin kidding me lmao wrestling fans need zero reason to berate people they don't even know let alone valid reasons like trying to strip abortion rights
This is why WWE has to aim to get younger fans because us people over a certain age has already seen every possible gimmick already. At 42 years old my generation never knew Ric stole his gimmick from a guy named Buddy Roger. My age group never saw Buddy Rogers wrestle.
