- Yes, a lot of work on this project!! But.. If the goal was to build a recreational eVTOL, why not just have fun today?
The “Human Drone Project” was created in August 2019 as a personal challenge to build at home a “drone-like” vehicle capable of flying while carrying a person on board.
Three prototypes have been developed and flew with the equivalent weight of a human. In June 2021, the first hovering flight with a real person on board was performed.

If you were to show this to someone in the 70's or 80's they would have thought "wow....the future is so amazing" but to us, here now, it's just normal. I still find it amazing, though.
Many thanks to everyone for the compliments. One of my goals is to inspire people to make their dreams come true, remembering that anything is possible with determination and a little obsession.
However, developing an aeronautical project as a hobby is extremely dangerous, and the number of failures with catastrophic potential is much more significant than it seems.
I embarked on this adventure, considering that I have professional experience in the aeronautical industry. Please don't try doing the same thing without an equivalent background.
If it is relatively easy to build a drone with hobby parts nowadays, it is not very difficult to make an eVTOL using the same components; after all, it would basically be a matter of adaptation to another scale, right? The answer is "no," and it is because of safety.
I could have done this project in 6 months. However, it took me more than 2 years, and I went through 3 prototypes until I could fly with the minimum safety that I thought acceptable.
Even though I have experience and spent more time than others normally would, I remember taking more risks than anticipated.
I don't want anyone hurt, mainly because of my influence. For this reason, I don't answer any technical questions about these eVTOLs, despite being a big supporter of open-source projects (see, for example, thehumancareproject.com).
The curiosity of everyone who asks me for project specifications shows the will to do something; this is a sign of your talent for being an inventor. Inventors change the world, so I want to see them alive, healthy, and ready to create fantastic things throughout their lives!
